A strong run of upcoming fixtures sees Kyle Walker make a significant jump in our recently updated Watchlist rankings.

With clean sheet returns at an absolute minimum of late – a mere five have been recorded right across the board in the previous two Gameweeks – the hunt is on for defenders who can deliver at the attacking end of the field. There’s little doubt that Tottenham’s schedule affords Walker a better chance of returns than the majority of Fantasy defenders on offer right now.

Priced at 5.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Walker is not exactly a cut-price option but a goal, assist and 3 bonus points in his last three games highlight his strength going forward. With Harry Redknapp’s side in a rich vein of form, his ability to lend weight to their attacking ploys could be crucial, as Fantasy managers scratch around for points at the back.

Indeed, a look at the FPL points so far show Walker, with 31, is third-top for Spurs, behind only Rafael Van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor and ahead of the likes of Luka Modric (30) and Gareth Bale (26). His points total for the season is just a couple behind both Jose Enrique and Jose Bosingwa, though while the pair have ownership of 27.8% and 26.5% respectively, Walker has remained well under the radar- so far, he’s been selected by a mere 2.5% of FPL managers.

With (QPR, ful, AVL, wba, BOL, sto) to come in the next six, then, the Fantasy potential is obvious – if injuries at the back can clear, Spurs may even surpass our expectations for clean sheets in that spell. Certainly, if they are to maintain the form that has seen them win five out of six games, Walker’s barnstorming right flank runs could prove pivotal as Redknapp’s side look to push on in their quest for a Champions League slot.

but all u see on here is people saying "i need to free up funds".example moses...no question the lads got potential but wigan don't have the strikers to capitalize on any creative play he may produce.

i prefer to go with players from big teams that pretty much score every week without fail.my starting mids r vdv/nani/silva/ramsey with the 5th ferguson.with the starting 4 theres never a need to rotate cos there a threat home & away.

The guy winning overall has players that don't start so obviously not the worst thing in the world to have eg a Ferguson in your team. More likely to get away with it early on in the season tho I think, might not when injuries/suspensions start rolling in later on.

but that was last year! baines assists relies on the mids/strikers being on form & as of yet there not.if it means BAL4TOM doesn't have the funds for the "must haves" then i think its a no brainer.

1st year doin this but finished 176 overall in telegraph ff a few years back.guess we all approach selection in r own way.

Baines has been less effective since Piennar left. Most of everton's attack came down the left with those two and thats dried up a bit these days. Gw13 onwards might be interesting if Moyes plays Drenthe wide left on a regular basis.

Long-term 1, for the next few weeks 2
Ramsey has decent fixtures over the coming while, but so does Nani (who is also a better player)
Sturridge has tougher fixtures in comparison to Suarez' next 2 games.
If I had to choose, id B this week (with Krul instead of Bego as he rotates better) and then turn Suarez into Sturridge and Ramsey into Nani in a few weeks.
But that is just what i'd do.

      1) Bosingwa served his 1 game suspension so he's not out
      2) I'm considering captaining Suarez so shipping him out is the last thing I'd do, and don't see the logic with G Cahill, bosingwa is a season keeper at his price

Anyone who is fed up with the MOTD golf club bores Hansen & Lawrenson might want to start a campaign to get them replaced by Italian reporter Tiziano Crudeli. In his TV programme 'Diretta Stadio', Crudeli commentates live on Serie A matches and tends to, well, get a bit worked up.

This is how he commentated on last weekend's 4-3 thriller between Lecce and his favourite club, Milan. Lecce went into a 3-0 half-time lead before a Boateng hat-trick helped the Rossoneri to an amazing 4-3 victory:

    http://www.20min.ch/sport/fussball/story/-BOA-BOA-TENG-TENG-TENG--31684358

True, Crudeli doesn't speak English, but that never stopped Alan Shearer from becoming a pundit.

    Al Habsi
    Wilkinson/Enrique/Kompany
    Nani/Silva/VDV/Pilkington
    Augero/Suarez/Sturridge

Problem I see with Aguero is he could get subbed off at half time is ManC are dominating. Ofc he could of scored a hattrick by then....

I still don't get why people are saying 'such and such are season keepers for me'
A few weeks ago these were the names I saw thrown up in the 'season keeper' list:
    - Bosingwa
    - Nani (No reason to sell IMO, but people are still selling, the same people that called him a season keeper)
    - Rooney (Read above)
