Saturday’s Premier League action climaxes with a head-to-head between Newcastle United and Aston Villa at St James’ Park. The Magpies’ confidence has been restored by virtue of back-to-back wins against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, while the Villains are still searching for their first win since Gameweek 1.

Despite carding a pair of impressive wins over the last four Gameweeks, Newcastle ranked in the bottom three for attempts (30), shots inside the box (23), shots on target (seven) and big chances (three). Ultimately, they profited from the third-best shot-conversion rate (16.7%) during that period, but it will be a concern for Steve McClaren that only West Bromwich Albion (17) fashioned fewer key passes (21) than his side.

No team surrendered more goals (10) and shots inside the box (43) than Villa over the last four Gameweeks, while they also charted joint-third for big chances conceded (11). Moreover, the West Midlands outfit rank joint-third for goals conceded in road fixtures (18) behind Newcastle (19) and Sunderland (21). They fared no better from an offensive standpoint, chalking up just three goals and managing the same volume of shots inside the box (23) as the Magpies.

Too risky to sell Vardy ?

I'm thinking of Vardy + Hazard -> Aguero + Bolasie.

I have Mahrez and I have exact fund for doing these transfers.

It baffles me why people who have Vardy are even contemplating selling. He's had 1 blank GW where he didn't score or assist all season and that was in the 2nd week. I'm really regretting not having transferred him in sooner but went with Mahrez early on and thought it was too risky having 2 Leicester players. Then by the time he went on his run the fixtures "looked" to get worse within 3 weeks so I thought I would just hold off.

How much is his value if you transfer out? There will be no other player in that value bracket that could come close to replicating how he is doing.

My plan is to get him in as soon as he gets a fifth yellow card and has served his one match ban.

It's mine and my fiancées 7 year anniversary today. My wonderful manager gave me a recommendation for a restaurant, Hereford Road. It really rang a bell, but I couldn't remember why. I checked and its next to the pub where we first met. We are having dinner tonight, can't wait.
But what a coincidence. We are having a drink in that very same pub now. Must go. She'll be back from the loo to catch me on here. 🙂
