From the doldrums of 1.7 millionth, RVP and friends have managed to drag me kicking and screaming into the realms of 300k. But theres still work to be done. I want to shift Nasri and Bosingwa, and am worried about having no Man Utd attacking cover. I'm also keen on getting a Utd defender in now for the run.

If Evans is nailed on Bos -> Evans and Nasri -> Nani seems a decent move. Worth a 4pt hit?

Evans isnt nailed on so it isnt worth the hit.

Yeah. Maybe I'll just do Bos -> Jones. Don't have enough cash for the Nasri -> Nani move then though. Hmm.

I have busted my head over who is the best defensive cover and I find that it is De Gea, since Jones is not nailed on with all besides Smalling fit. And you can get a decent defender for 4 mil and no decent keeper for 4 mil, so the extra 0.6 spent on him makes sense. As attacking cover, id keep and eye on Clev and the obvious targets Rooney and Nani. The best punt and a differential would be Cicharito IMO

+1 Chicharito is on my radar. I want to see just a little more evidence that he's back into the 1st 11, and he's in.

De Gea is too expensive. You'll have almost £11m in goalkeepers. Vorm and Krul, with a temporary Krul to Begovic switch after GW 11, is the way to go.

The new BP system suits VDV down to the ground (a bonus if you like). Got a few 7s from him last year, but that won't be the case, now.

VDV is riding on the crest of a wave, but him and Nasri were a nightmare to own towards the back end of last season.

There really is no value in defence this year. Kompany and Shawcross, who you can only play at home, are the only DFers worth investing any cash into. MOTD have just been discussing the increase in goals. CS are a lottery and not where the points are.

Get as many big hitters/captaincy options you can.

Can you captain Baines? I did and it wasn't great.

The guy with the most points this GW (94) has Suarez and Sinclair on the bench with DJ Campbell (who is out for around 2 months) starting, but Shawcross as first sub so Suarez or Sinclair won't even come on.

bale's a tough one to figure out. I brought him in on my WC 3 weeks ago. OPTA stats showed that he had the 2nd most attempts on goal in the game among midfielders.

Then the past two weeks he was anonymous. Hardly contributed anything. So i swapped him for VDV. Still happy with the move... VDV will have more consistency week in week out

I appreciate it's about playing the fixtures/odds, but like Chelsea v Nor and WB, it was too difficult to find the right coverage and people ended up with Torres just for the sake of it. It's so difficult to call right now. As long as you have Silva and the Double Dutch Masters then you should be fine!

I'd wait til after the ManU game for Sess... if but I'd also wait until the Newcastle game before getting Walters. neither will rise tonight.
That should also help answer the wilkinson question. I just bought him so I'm hoping he'll stay ahead of Higginbotham and Huth for a while.

Great....im thinking of bringing in either Sess or Walters but looks like that will be walters then. And then also bringing in Sinclair as a few guys in my league have him and I keep missing out on his pen points time and again.

I'll have VDV, Silva, Ramsey, Sinclair and Walters as my mids.
        RVP, Aguero and Adebayor upfront.

Down low cheapies, Enrique, Simpson, Barnett and taking out Warnock and Kompany to bring in Rangel and Wilkinson then thats me for a while.

I'm thinking about shipping out Nani cos he's done nothing for a few weeks now. I'm looking at Hernandez for gametime unless Rooney plays further forward vs Sunderland

I think Drenthe could be a great differential for the NewC game and beyond. I've got Mata who's finally repaying me points. Ramseys playing well but no assists pretty unlucky. Walters nice run but we'll see how he plays tomorrow.

If you get Nani in, I would be aware that his price could well go down. I was going to swap Young for Nani, but the lack of game time for Nani is a concern. I went for Cleverley instead. Only 5.3m is a bargain if he keeps a regular spot. I reckon he'll pick up a fair few assists, and he likes a shot at goal.

Ok, so looks like Gerrard is out for a while. I took a punt on him and it failed.

Is Gerrard to VDV and Adebayor to Rooney worth a 4pt hit??

Or just Gerrard to Nani or VDV?

Evans is above Ferdinand in the pecking order now. If he wasn't he wouldn't have started vs Everton. Smalling is injured for a month so i'd say Evans is nailed on for the next few weeks at least.

Need to work RvP into my forward line. Currently have Sturridge, Suarez and Rooney. 2 free transfers and don't mind downgrading Rooney to Hernandez. Also have Bosingwa to downgrade (not sure who too).

Is it really worth getting rid of Suarez to work RvP in? Or should i just trade Rooney for him despite it leaving me with no Man United cover.

Everything at arsenal goes through RVP. Gotta have him. Most things at liverpool go through Suarez... he'd be my next keeper. That leaves Sturridge and Rooney, who share their team's chances with other players. I think either one could go -- probably easiest is rooney.

i've got a feeling he'll be back upfront and scoring though, but you couldn't afford to do sturridge/bos -> wilko/rvp could you?

Need to make some early week changes...

    Current squad:

    Schwarzer Vorm
    Gabbidon STaylor Richards Woodgate Warnock
    Bannan Nasri VDV Ramsey Moses
    Sturridge RVP Aguero

    0.1 in the bank

Really want to get Nasri out before his price drops (and also thinking about getting Sturridge out as well). Would it be madness to do Sturridge --> Hernandez then get a mid for under 6.3? Or are there other, more reasonable suggestions for this mess? (I'd like to do Bannan for a 4.5 and go Nasri to Silva but I'm -0.1. short...)

Yeah Moses, Sturridge, Simpson and Sinclair are all likely on their way out soonish. Just have a little bit too much tied up in defence i think and with zero in the bank i have very little flexibility.

Swapping Bosingwa for a cheaper defender this week and then having 2 transfers and some money in the bank for after the international break seems the way to go.

He can be decent but he can also be so so dodgy, goes too sleep at crucial times. His off the ball movement has improved loads, even if it's the most un-natural thing in football.

Evans has actually statistically been United's best defender by some distance this season, in that his minutes per goal conceded ratio is much, much better than the rest of the United defenders, although that is slightly distorted by the City game.

Even if he doesn't play all the games, surely he's worth a gamble at just 4.5. If he doesn't start a game, it's not likely that he'll come on for a dreaded one pointer.

Depends how solid the rest of your defence is for whether it's worth the risk. Mine defence is pretty poor at the moment, but still think I'll go for it. Defensive stability is key, so there's a chance that he could get a run of games in the league, as managers don't tend to like rotating centre backs.

My defence is pretty awesome. Richards, Komapny, Enrique, Ward, De Lol. Having said that, it would be rude not to do Ward -> Evans and make an extra .1

Ferdinand has been playing atrociously this season and Evans looks to have ousted him. Rafael is back from injury now, and you'd imagine he and Fabio will play in some games, meaning Smalling or Jones could play alongside Vidic at centre back.

Could have scored about three today though. Wouldn't want to get rid of him with Spurs' ridiculous fixtures. Plus, Spurs look like scoring a lot of goals. Very happy to have both VDV and Ade in my team, and can't imagine (injury permitting) that I'll be getting rid anytime soon.

Spurs also have a double gameweek potentially on the horizon.

Negative. When I got rid the plan was to get him back in for RVP in a couple of weeks time, but that sure as hell isn't happening now!

Could easily rearrange some funds to get him in Torres (yes, I have Torres, again) but I don't really fancy it. Going to risk it by going into the next couple of weeks without any United coverage, well, other than Jonny 'goalmachine' Evans.

I'm unconvinced that United have a dream run coming up that requires cover. Yes, they can score against anyone and will beat most everyone, but from a FF perspective, 5 of the next 6 teams have decent defensive records so far. Newcastle, Swansea and QPR share (with others) the most clean sheets at 4 each, and Sun & Villa each have 3.

Only form would incline me to choose a player to play that run, and I don't think United have a form offensive man right now.

Your right and I wonder if that is because he looks down too much at the ball. If he looked up once and a while for options he may pass it more frequently. Torres should have had a few goals had he received some passes, maybe it will stop him complaining about slow service from the likes of Drogba, Lampard, Malouda etc at least they pass the ball

terrible, shows a complete lack of awareness to play in a wide position, in that role you have to be able to square the ball to the front man not just look towards goal all the time

Don't actually agree with this. Despite all his massive and obvious flaws, we need a player like him in the side because of his directness and pace. Malouda was absolutely abysmal when he came on, and we stopped creating chances pretty much as soon as that substitution was made.

Great pass he made to JT for Arsenal's fourth. Even if he hadn't slipped in such comical fashion, RVP would have probably still made it to the ball first.

Malouda is just so slow, both with the ball and without it, he can't beat a man whatsoever.

true he has probably had his day, but lack of game time can't be helping. I would say that Anelka is probably more likely to challenge sturridge for the position on the right, he is also a team player and is fast

Anelka still as a lot to offer, granted he might not track back well but if that is the case, play Ivanovic at Right back and Alex at CB, you'll probably be more solid defensively. Im not convinced by AVB yet.

Luiz is a liability. Alex is probably their best CB. He is a beast. I'd even play Ramires as the wide right mid until January. He has pace, vision, stamina, dribbling ability. That will also allow Meireles to play higher up the pitch. Mikel defensive mid.
