In this latest Members article, we investigate the low-to-mid price striker market, examining those forwards available for 7.5 or less in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. We put creativity and assists to one side, focusing solely on goal threat to examine shots per minute and shots on target per minute data, comparing the popular budget strikers to the performance of the heavy-hitters – Robin Van Persie, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero.

The article helps to identify the prime long-term targets within the sub 7.5 price bracket and those who perhaps represent a sound short-term punt in the coming weeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Two Questions
1.Which two shall I play out of Pilkington(avl),Eagles(STO),Graham(liv) leaning towards Graham and Eagles, but you never know with Pilks.

2.What do you think of my team.

    Vorm Ruddy
P Jones Enrique Simpson Tierney Naylor
    Nani Silva VDV Pilkington Eagles
    Rooney RVP Graham
    0.3m in the bank

I would play Eagles and Pilkington actually, but Graham is on pens, I just see Villa having more chance of conceding than Liverpool, but it really is toss of the coin stuff.

Nice team bar Nani and Rooney, one is enough, and if Nani finds form again I think it would be him.

Hey man, I'd go for Pilkington and Eagles personally. I don't see Graham doing that well this weekend, and Pilkington and Eagles pose more of a goal threat from open play. Nice time, good to see someone else sticking with Roonpig.

I’d be eternally grateful to anyone who could help me catch my boss in my company league!

    Current Team is:

    Al-Habsi (Vorm)
    Clichy, Jagielka, Shawcross (Bosingwa, Hughes)
    Wright-Phillips, Ramires, Cabaye, Modric (Faurlin)
    Rooney, Agbonlahor, Dzeko

3.1m in bank, 2 GW transfers

A lot of ill-advised choices there, I know. Hence why I need to play catch-up. I need a reserve defender really with Bos and Hughes injured and Shawcross doubtful. So I might grab Jones?

Also thinking of Rooney > RvP, and Modric > Silva/VdV.

Those 3 for a 4-point hit? Or can anyone see any better options for me?

      Hughes OUT Jones IN
      Rooney OUT RVP IN
      Modric OUT VDV IN

Are all worth a 4 point hit in my view. Silva is slightly doubtful so no point in going for him, Rooney is more than likely going to be played in midfield at least for this weekend anyway in my view and RVP is on fire, and Modric just doesn't do enough in fantasy terms to warrant inclusion, VDV is the man.

      Go for the Dutch courage!

Ba, Sturridge and Graham are the only 3 I'd ever consider out of that bunch. The rest just stink of 8, 2, 2, 1, 2, 2, 6 throughout the season... I don't need that kind of inconsistency in my team. Ba and Graham only after their difficult fixtures.

Bosingwa, Kompany, Simpson, de Laet and N Taylor.. I've already made a transfer and currently thinking about paying 4 pts as my back line is weak for this gw (and next): Bos (doubt), Simpson, Taylor (away to Liverpool)..

Would you pay and if so get Evans for Bosingwa or Wilkinson for de Laet? Thanks

Really tempted to do Sturridge > Aguero (-4)

Pros - Aguero should outscore Sturridge but by 4 or not I'm not sure. Aguero has a much higher ceiling.

Cons - my defence is good this week (relatively) but needs sorting in the long-run - should I use the excess cash while I have it to get Jones in?
Aguero has international fixtures followed by a champs league game - could be rested in the next game.
Lots here think Adebayor has gone off the boil and could be the one to be dropped.

No that is the thing. All my players who are potentially shippable this week have good fixtures. My back for for example have Brown and Kompany who aren't going to play but are good for the future, Simpson who is average this week but is cheap and combines well with brown and then Warnock and Ward who are crap but have great fixture.

    ok, terrific

did kompany->evans. Probably will kick myself for not going jones instead, but im a miser.

    Krul

    Enrique, Shawcross, R Taylor, Evans

    VDV, Silva, Petrov

    RVP(C), Suarez, A Johnson

(Sessegnon, Dyer, Boyata) 5.8 in bank

After two great GWs, this team is a mess right? 4 point hit in order? Dyer->Nani, Mata? Or roll as is and pray silva and/or shawcross play?

I'd wait until after the break Fuzzy, Evans should start this weekend I think. You have a good enough team this week.

Ok my defence isn't looking good for this week. Currently consists of:

    Given
    Brown Simpson Wilkinson
    Petrov VDV Silva Nani
    RVP(c) Sturridge Suarez(v)

    Bench: Vorm Moses Kompany Senderos
    Bank: £0.0m

    Which transfers look best?

    Kompany --> Jones (no hit)
Kompany --> JEvans, Petrov --> Walters (4pt hit)
    Brown --> JEvans (no hit)

So who's going for De Gea + Evans? 🙂

    I've gone for Jones as:
    a) I think Evans will start being rotated a lot more than Jones, due to simply not being as good and better players coming back.
    b) Krul and Vorm rotation can do as well vs playing De Gea pretty much every game with Vorm mainly as sub.

However I think De Gea will be great value during United's run. I just hope Jones can be better.

I need some help with my team too many players who might not be involved.

    Krul (Vorm)
Simpson , Brown , Bosingwa (De laet, Kompany)
Modric, Vaart , Walters, Silva (Dyer)
    Sturridge, RVP, Suarez

    1.4m in Bank

Thinking of taking 4 point hit

    1 Defender and 1 Midfielder

    Any Ideas ?

Bruce was saying something about reverting to 4-5-1 so Wickham would be benched again in that scenario.

A differential only works if he has very low ownership AND he scores a ton of points while others with high ownership(RVP/Suarez/Ba) don't. So no.

Need help with last bit of selection...
Which of these two to start this weekend — B Johnson at Villa, or Brunt at Arsenal?
Who will do you reckon will do better? Thanks in advance.

Wayne Rooney should be restored to a more advanced role tomorrow after his game in central midfield in midweek, with Darren Fletcher likely to be back in that position and Danny Welbeck among those hoping for a recall.

Anders Lindegaard could also play in goal as Ferguson is mindful of the Dane's status as second choice for his country, meaning that he might not have a game for a fortnight.

Opinion only but worth a thought.
