In this latest Members article, we investigate the low-to-mid price striker market, examining those forwards available for 7.5 or less in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. We put creativity and assists to one side, focusing solely on goal threat to examine shots per minute and shots on target per minute data, comparing the popular budget strikers to the performance of the heavy-hitters – Robin Van Persie, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero.

The article helps to identify the prime long-term targets within the sub 7.5 price bracket and those who perhaps represent a sound short-term punt in the coming weeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      given ruddy
      kompany boswinga enrique s/taylor rangel
      ramsey silva moses larsson pilkington
      rvp suarez agbonlahor
most in my league have vdv-don't know what to do
am thinking of getting rid of boswinga (possibly for jones)
i plan to also drop suarez after this week but am looking at rooney (have money in the bank)

yeah, cuz man u has decent fixtures, and with rooney playing mdfield, i reckon hernande might be the furthest player forward.

oh, but kompany's next few fixtures are horrible.
at least boswinga represnts some sort of goal threat.

Similar team to me, considering the same transfers as you and also getting rid of Given after this week. I'll probably wildcard to do it though.

Bosingwa - Jones looks decent for you this week.

          hey, thanks for the replies.

i actually was thinking more evans instead of jones.
somehow i think jones is v susceptible to rotation.

im thinking of doing howard for given.
or perhaps even sunderland's backup keeper

Help please guys, don't know whether to go into this gameweek with this team or make a transfer. I only have one transfer available and wouldn't mind building it up for two next week but am also considering taking out Kompany for Jones or Wilkinson!

I have 0.3 mil in the bank and my current team is...

    Krul (Vorm
Boswinga Simpson Enrique (R Taylor) (Kompany)
    Arteta Petrov Nasri Walters (Dyer)
    RVP (C) Rooney Adebayor

What do you think? Leave it as it is this week or make a change??

    Help appreciated!

Bos, ShawX, Kompany, Barnett, Simpson - worth taking a hit to slightly fix it?

This talk of Bos being dropped is worrying? As I have Kompany injured, Shawcross dodgy, and two mids injured (Cleverley/Tiote?)...

Is this as near as certain can be or just rumour? Can't blame Villas Boas as he is shit! Come to think of it why the hell did I ever pick the fool! 🙂

Hes not poor, but not unlucky either. Hes playing very conservatively and not taking on too many shots, the lack of Carroll in the box and the fact that the entire Liverpool game is built around Suarez is not helping either. Hell never be worth the money IMO, until Carroll starts playing regularly.

He started off brightly but has been really poor for the last 4 or 5 games.

Wouldn't touch him at all at the price and he might even be dropped for Bellamy/Maxi.

Adam is the best Liverpool mid to have as Gerrard is injured and Adam on pens, corners and free kicks.

plan was to save my transfer this week and do a double or triple transfer next week to get RVP and Ramsey in for 2/3 of the highlighted players after monitorin em this week.. with Silva and Bosingwa a doubt though is it better i just do
    A) Bosingwa to Wilkinson this week and keep money in the bank for Ramsey(or prob take a hit next week and get rvp for suarez/sturridge)
B)Bosingwa to Jones this week (and get rid of nani and suarez for ramsey and rvp for a hit next week)

I got Wilkinson in this week. Good attacking threat and hopefully clean sheets galore. Also gives you a load of dosh to play around with. Can you look at my post below and see if you'd do anything different?

No, keep Bos for this week, since he has a good fixture and WIlkinson has a bad one. Do the transfer next week.

    kompany -> evans
    adebayor -> hernandez

    worth a 4pt hit?
want to get rid of adebayor because i have vdv and feel both is too much

      Nada.
Hernandez isn't quite nailed on, Ade is. Both have good fixtures. Ade is playing in a team that are on good form Man U are slightly out of sorts (not exactly in poor form but not setting the world on fire) and Kompany > Jevans is too much of an downgrade.

Hey guys, I just wildcarded as I had so many injuries/doubts. What do people think of these transfers? I'm going mental!

    Kompany-Jones (standard)
    Shawcross-Evans
    Simpson- Wilkinson
    Sinclair (after the rise)- Drenthe
    Aguero-Rooney
    Suarez-RVP

Already have VDV, Enrique, Silva and Sturridge. Rip my team to shreds, I've still got 0.9 to play with. I got lucky with team value

    Quick question:
    Hennessey at home to Wigan
    or
    Begovic at Bolton?

    Currently have Hennessey starting.

Which combo would you pick long term form week 12 onwards ?

    Dempsey and Sess

    or

    Nani and Allen

Much as I like Dempsey, Fulham's fixtures aren't great, therefore probably Nani and Allen, even though I don't like the Nani situation at the moment. I'd probably be in favour of something like Ramsey/Drenthe and Sess and upgrade elsewhere.

OK, might do Bos -> Walker/Jones for a hit (after doing Sturridge->VP)

    Any transfer worth 4-pts hit?

A: Ade > Dzeko B: De Laet > Evans and play him instead of Naylor

    Team now..

    Krul (Vorm)
Simpson - Richards - Naylor (Brown , De Laet)
Silva - Nani - Mata - VDV (Dyer)
    RVP - Adebayor - Bendtner

B looks good short-term and gives you one more player that actually as chance to play.

if drop and rises happen at all than it will still be hard to tell because half of the world is still asleep.

Looks like none of these players will take a drop dough.

Playing my wildcard this week... any advice much appreciated. Struggling as I can't include Chelsea or Arsenal (it's a Spurs league....sorry....)

    RMT please....

    Begovic, Vorm

    Kompany, Enrique, P.Jones, Evans, Simpson

    VDV, Silva, Sessegnon, Walters, J.Allen

    Rooney, Suarez, Ba

What's doing my head in is that I'm massively tempted to squeeze Nani in as another midfield big hitter, but means Beg>Ruddy, Sessegnon>Nani, Evans>Wilkinson AND Walters>Moses/Johnson.....

Worth the re-jig or stick with a more balanced team???

    Cheers guys

Ba to Bendtner along with all those transfers you mentioned gives you a better team imo

Thanks mate, Sunderland's fixtures do look sweet after Utd, maybe a better bet short term. Just means being a bit more reliant on the big players scoring heavily. And two weak keepers. Nani has to come back into form though right?

A word of caution to all those considering R. R. Drenthe of Everton. Make sure you don't accidentally transfer in one of the many other R. Drenthe's at Everton. That wouldn't be good.

The Scout reckons Bos is in danger of being dropped for Ivanovic to counteract the threat of Hoillet. Going to have to sell him, and take the risk that one of Tiote/Shawcross make it with only Naylor to sub in to get 11 on the pitch. Looks like Evans it is then... good god did I really just say that! Keeps funds back for Shawcross>Baines in future weeks if deemed necessary 🙂

Is having Adam Johnson as first sub a good idea.

Just thinking when he does play he scores big so would be a handy sub and could score useful points if any of my big hitters are unavailable in some games.
