So I did it. After a couple of weeks attempting to resist Sergio Aguero and, despite meticulously constructing a convincing case to avoid him, I went back on my word.

Recovering from the dramatic climb-down, I felt rather hollow heading into this ScoutCast, with Jonty, Andy and Luke all too keen to watch on while I tucked into humble pie.

Not surprisingly, I spend a good part of this episode justifying the back tracking, before I join my co-hosts in offering views on another bout of community questions. We discuss the Lukaku exit plans, Ozil vs Sanchez and contemplate options between the sticks with Jack Butland losing his shine.

Then we move on to the Gameweek preview, as I desperately try to find some joy in pondering which mid-price defender to sign heading into Saturday’s deadline. Sigh.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first aired live on Wednesday evening via our YouTube channel.

You can view the full version via the larger player below, or soak up the more refined audio version via this link or the smaller player.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for updates on new episodes.

NB: apologies in advance for Luke’s sound quality. We discovered a technical problem after the recording was completed. If you’re struggling to decipher what he’s saying, just imagine him agreeing with everything I say.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

This week I sold Lukaku and bought Vardy; fixtures aren't good but confidence is high. The reason for that is to eventually offer Mahrez his P45. His returns have dipped and he's been relieved of penalty duties. Time to say adieu.

    A) Evans out > ??
Rest of DEF: Toby - Jags - Wollscheid - Ward

    B) Lukaku > Vardy / Rooney (For the next 2 gameweeks then switch to Vardy)
Rest of FOR: Kun - Kane

Which move is more important? (1FT & £3.5M in bank)

Stoke are pretty good at home, though they are missing 2 defenders. Payet created a lot of chances last week, I'd probably go with him.

Thankfully you don't need to decide now as I imagine we'll know about Lukaku before deadline.

He brought a good Juventus team to the CL final - he's won the league twice in Italy with Milan and Juventus.

Koeman expects Austin to be fit, Id rather Austin over Vardy till GW 27. I think id prefer Afobe over Vardy as a back up plan to Austin over Vardy till gw 27 tbh

It means extra transfers. Vardy is simpler

How many goals do you expect from Vardy in next 2 fixtures? 1 at best imo. Afobe and Austin I fancy to score more

If Theo drops .1 before sat i may gamble on him, doubt he will though. Arnie still favourite to replace Oscar

Those doing Lukaku to Vardy. Or bringing in Vardy right now in general.

Are you not the slightest bit weary of away to City and away to Arsenal as his next two fixtures?

Before these two goals he was pretty darned quite and as good all Leicester have been this season I can't imagine big hauls in those matches.

Seams like point chasing to bring him in before these fixtures..

      A) Saves you a FT in two weeks that you'll probably be doing anyways. They are in short-demand with so much uncertainty around DGWs and extra blanks.
      B) He's quite possibly on pens.
      C) He's already scored vs Arsenal, Southampton, United and Chelsea this season (and assists vs Spurs and Everton).
      D) He's still quite cheap compared to who you're selling for (like Lukaku), making him an enabler for a big hitter like Sanchez.
