Just like to say thanks everyone for the advice. It has made a difference. After two awful GWs plumbing the depths of 30 points and watching my best players get sent off, subbed off or score own goals and taking 12 points of hits - my faith has been repaid and it's all come good. 65 points before BPs and on course for my highest GW score. When Vorm kept a CS at Anfield I had to pinch myself... and when Ryan Taylor scored...... lol.

So, if this was your squad, what would you change this GW? I have a few in mind already...

    Schwarzer (Vorm)
Wilkinson Jose Enrique N Taylor (Bosingwa R Taylor)

Bingo, those were the two pressing ones, some way in front of shipping out Sturridge. I really despair with Balotelli, he's in great form and just as I gamble on him last week Mancini decides to put him up front lone striker in Europe. Not alongside anyone but 4-5-1! I could kill two birds with one stone by downgrading Bosingwa and upgrading Balotelli, but to which players? Unfortunately I can't afford Aguero even doing that.

I've got Aguero up front with RVP but would actually recommend Dzeko of the City strikers.

Don't rate him anywhere near as highly as Aguero, but he just always seems to pull a goal or assist most games.

He's the standout budget option, but I got burned getting him in early this year in a classic kneejerk after his 4-goal wonder. Seemed to do bugger all for a month after that, no goals, maybe the odd assist. Was that because he faded out of form and he's back in form now? Getting him has been on my mind.

I'm giving Aguero one more week and then making the switch if he doesn't fire. Having so much locked into one guy who isn't performing is giving me the irrits.

Yeah having a 10+ player getting 2s tests anyone's patience. Speaking of which I'm glad I stuck with Nani because he finally got me some points this GW - but it's been a rough 3 GWs. At least I ditched Young ages ago.

OK I think Dzeko is pretty much unavoidable, here's hoping his second spell with me is epic. Should I maybe wait as long as possible so I can find out if Balotelli's playing next GW before giving up on him? He is clearly good enough, just a victim of rotation.

Just had a nose at your transfer history.
You are making too many transfers.
Try to cut it down to the occasional 4 point hit.
Better still save a transfer for one week and you will have two the next..kinda like a mini wildcard.

I know it's wrong, what happened was that I completely ballsed up my WC because after trading non-stop the whole international break, I woke up 3 minutes before the 1130 deadline and panic transferred. Let's not even go there what happened that GW. So I've been trying to rescue my team since then. Now it's stabilized I will be on a 4-pointer every 2-3 weeks. I have promised to restrict myself to a maximum of 4 hits before the January wildcard.

Liverpool to be the flop of the season

Carrol is a donkey, finds a way to miss from 3 yards and the only real added dimension he brings to Liverpools game is a lazy long ball which almost always results in a loss of possession.

Adam looks god awful, and I mean really, really.. god awful. Takes him 9 horrible passes for one of his raking diagonals to stick, long shots are generally atrocious, and to cap it off is completely stupid when it comes to tackles.

Suarez has talent but for me he seems to eager to berate teammates than to get on with it and play. Also does not work nearly hard enough for his team; with Kuyt's work ethic he would be a completely different player.

I like Downing though, he deserves more fpl points at the very least.

Oh and no European football this season? Yea drawing at home to promoted teams is embarrassing

I remember warning a few people that Liverpool weren't going to thrash Swansea this GW. But even me, a definite skeptic of the current team, was surprised they failed to score. I pretty much gave up on them for fantasy points after watching their 1-1 against Norwich and even their 2-0 win over WBA. Not lethal enough. Much of that is because Suarez is far more of a showboater than a finisher, as several painful GWs in my team showed. I wasn't surprised that he failed to score.

Hate to say it but Suarez reminds me of Robbie Keane when he was younger all shapes the odd goal. Then you feel as if he should be doing far better given the talent he has.

Yeah. Prefer to think of Suarez as at the same stage as Ronaldo when he arrived at United. Too many tricks and not enough end product, but ironed out into a goals machine. Only things against this are that Suarez's actually two years older and had an insanely good scoring record at Ajax already. The Dutch league is pretty cack though.

thoughts on adam/carroll? honestly its criminal how pathetic these guys are considering their transfer fees... if torres wasn't king of wasted cash they would be under more scrutiny-

absolutely zero sympathy for villas boas, buying torres was begging for disappointment. I heard that back when ancelloti was at chels he told abramovich he wanted aguero lmao. Being a billionaire doesn't give you an eye for talent I guess.

Not too familiar with shevchenko but will these 3 players go down as even worse transfers?

Carroll has been awful relative to his fee, probably worse value than Torres. The other pricey ones: Adam has not convinced me as like you I'm not convinced his long passes are working, and neither has Downing to be honest. I think those two are okay players but may not work at Liverpool. Heck knows how they will work alongside Gerrard ultimately. The whole Liverpool mid is a mess in my opinion.

Downing is getting poor FPL points, more specifically very few assists. He used to get far more at his old club - apparently he was in the top ten PL assisters over the last 5 years or something.

Torres has actually scored some useful European goals and a few in the PL. He really is playing fairly well now, just not delivering the goals a £50m striker must deliver.

I disagree about Downing, I think he extremely unfortunate not to have more points and the lack of assists is more down to his teammates than his ability. Always putting in dangerous balls, consistently beats his marker, rarely concedes possession, works hard off the ball and works defensively as well, honestly if half of what he's been producing were put to good use by his teammates he would rival suarez as liverpool's best transfer.

adam, I just hate him at liverpool. He looked so good next to his blackpool teammates, but surrounded by a quality team he looks well out of his depth. Loses the ball WAY too much to be center mid for a top club, and a huge liability given his tendency to get carded and carry on tackling like a moron.

Carroll has been awful as well, but I suppose youth/being english (considering new home grown player rules) enhances him slightly

But Torres. I don't think a few European goals against crappy teams is anything at all really. at any rate, I rate downing as much, MUCH better signing than torres... I cannot convey the disgust I have for such a blatant waste of money... torres has not been worth 1 million, chelsea should just trade him for someone like agbonglahor/graham/demba ba, etc. who can actually score goals

That's what I'm saying about player quality being independent of club. I reckon Adam and Downing were fine where they were but hate them at Liverpool.

I'd probably rank the transfers as Henderson > Downing > Adam > Torres = Carroll. I do remember watching an early LIV match with Henderson, Downing and Adam and I really liked the movement and interplay of the first two. The last one, can't tackle and can't run. Unfortunately we're still waiting for end product.

Like you say Chelsea should have got Aguero, not Torres, when he was mentioned lol. Even Ba or Agbonlahor might have been better buys although they probably would have run into the same problems of adapting to a continental-style club. Wild idea - I reckon they should have got Lukas Podolski. Lethal.

    Ruddt/vorm
    Jones Richards Enrique woodgate R.Taylor
    Silva Mata Vdv Brunt Ferguson
    Aguero Gervinho Agbon

    1.8 in the bank

Im thinking of taking the hit to do
    Enrique--> wilkinson/mcauley (prob two best 4.0 defenders?)

Don't transfer out Enrique, he's in one of the few defences currently keeping CS in the Prem. City actually have slipped in that regard, I think their coach said something like due to their attacking game they've only kept 1 CS in 7 games (many of which weren't that hard). They have tough fixtures coming up, so don't be afraid to downgrade Richards for now, his price is very unlikely to rise by the time you want him back. I've got rid of Kompany until the fixtures improve, got the points I wanted from him.

Gervinho has shown no signs of being a points machine, just upgrade him to Hernandez as I see half of United's goals going through him.

Odd as it may seem, I'd rather have someone like Walters, as although Stoke score fewer goals, when it does happen Walters is generally involved in the points. Particularly as he is on pens.

Ramsey has not been involved directly points-wise in Arsenal's last 8 goals. I'm sure that will change, though.

Been a touch disappointed with Aguero recently. Somebody said he can deliver a lot of 2s as he did in last season's UCL apparently, but his record in La Liga is phenomenal and comparable with Ronaldo and Messi, so for his output to be as low as it has been is quite grating, particularly as I kept him through his injury.

Not selling BTW, just frustrated. More annoyed at having Sturridge, Ba and Dzeko at completely the wrong times with Agbonlahor not even getting a sniff.

            Team | GA
            City | 10
            United | 12

That's about as good as it gets. Although I have said over the last few GWs that Adebayor isn't getting the goals and wasn't surprised to see him fail to score today. Tottenham goals are in midfield right now, not up front. He's not playing too badly but for his price or quite a lot lower I say you can get more goals. You can't upgrade to Chicarito can you?

Really itching to transfer him for Drenthe.. Swans don't do much in tough fixtures, so I'd really just be holding onto Sinclair hoping for penalties.

I got Drenthe in instead of Murphy this week. But I also have Sinclair.
But Drenthe has good fixtures until gw 22, excluding arsenal on gw 15. I think, I will be keeping Sinclair on the bench gw 12, but Sinclair has OK/good fixtures until gw 19 v Spurs.
So get Sinclair and Drenthe if you can!

Suarez > Hernandez, I think that's just affordable and MUN fixtures are much better in LIV's in the short term and stay good for weeks and weeks. Hernandez is now the focal point of the United attack.

Also if you need cash in the coming GWs, don't feel you have to stick with Kompany, the defence hasn't been anywhere as tight as last year and 4 of their hardest fixtures are in the next 6 GWs.

For next week i would make sure that Brown is on instead of Enrique cause i think he has more of a chance of CS.

And also i would look into changing Suarez... Just don't think he is doing anyone any favours at the moment. Maybe someone like Hernandez? For some United coverage.

Yeah wasteful. I'm still trying to understand the Player Performance Insanity, it seems like you get penalized for shots off target so I was wondering if there's a point when you get penalized for shots on target that never go in. Anyway, seems in order the most important stuff is goals > assists > clean sheets, and being on the winning team and gametime also matter. So that only leaves us with clean sheets and gametime (lol). Keepers of course have maximum gametime so they win there. It seems the clean sheet points are weighted so certain players get more. It seems sensible the keeper would get the most so Vorm and Reina might really be in with a shout of 3 & 2.

I would for sure look into downgrading Nasri to a player along the lines of Walters/Drenthe/Ramsey and then upgrading one of your strikers, mainly Wingie to someone like Hernandez (some united coverage?).
Otherwise i think it won't be too bad, ur players will start playing again.

On current starts, they all have to go except perhaps Odemwingie TBH!! That’s way too much money on your bench. I think the priority is to ditch the least-likely-to-play first. So ditch Clichy for a cheapish defender, Nasri for an expensive mid and Petrov if he continues to be left out (he has been playing up to now). Maybe Clichy > J Evans/Wilkinson and Nasri > Mata/Nani or Lampard if you can afford it.

        Hi all,

        Just after some opinions...

        Given / Al-Habsi
        Smalling / Bosingwa / Taylor R / Richards / Walker
Petrov / Silva / Van der Vaart / Walters / Ramsey
Van Persie / Adebayor / Graham

I haven't had any sort of plan for my wild card. Thinking about perhaps using now and working my team towards the xmas fixtures and then using the second wild card after the transfer window towards the run in. If done right, should be able to work weekly transfers towards double game weeks by avoiding them for 1 week and then doing 3 if need be for a 4 point hit.

Currently, I think I need to ship out - Given/Smalling/Bosingwa/Petrov for certain and then re fixtures - Richards/R Taylor possibly and maybe Al-Hibsi. So that's 5 out minimum...

Normally, I'd be thinking hold off and save the WC till the run in, but I'm thinking now may be the time to look towards some good points hauls leading into xmas as I haven't started as well as I'd have liked despite a run of green arrows.

Thoughts appreciated both for or against...

Also, any aussies playing the foxsports A-League fantasy? Thoughts on Kewell to Carle (over course of season)...

I'd better check my understanding of WCs, wasn't it you have 1 WC you can use anytime and 1 you can only use during January (transfer window) or something? In that case don't use your WC now if you don't need it. If you had to make 5 transfers a WC is sensible but I don't think all of the transfers you mentioned are necessary. In the 2 week break now, might Smalling recover from injury in time? Can you rotate Given with Al-Habsi to get CS? Wait to see if it's likely Petrov plays Bolton's next game as I predict a rebound after today's crushing win. I'd say that leaves 1 definite transfer (Bosingwa) and three maybes (Petrov/Richards/Smalling). Leave R Taylor alone.

Thanks. Re the WC situation, was thinking work the squad now for the next 8-10 weeks by using it, and then taking that January one to set up for remainder of season. (bad choice of words when I said 'after' transfer window, would be before deadline to use it).

I am more inclined to sit and not use it, just frustrated after slow start.

Re Smalling, is he likely to come straight back in though )I was thinking Jones). Smalling may well have then dropped by January when I look to use the next wildcard and can get him back if wanted...

Can rotate keepers, was thinking a cheaper one then Given though.

I'm leaning towards the Sess or Drenthe bandwagons for Petrov...

Bosingwa (and Petrov) is what I'm thinking to do for a 4 point hit if I don't wildcard...

Agree with R Taylor, got him on the cheap on 4.0 so can ride out the fixtures.

Well yeah maybe Smalling will take too long. But my understanding has been judging by SAF's comments last week that he's putting Rio Ferdinand's place under threat, and he's probably preferred to Evans. And because he's versatile he has also been used at right back so you have more chance of gametime.

You got two weeks now, wait until you absolutely have to listen to the price changes. More info always helps. Bosingwa and Petrov out for 4 points sounds decent, given your situation. And yeah you might want Drenthe because I think Everton have a double GW coming up. So do Spurs, mind...

Yeah I'm already fine with Spurs coverage (arguably too much) re the DGW.

Not taking too much from Fergusons comments re that. As Rio then went on to start on Saturday with Evans on the bench. Come January, more would be known about the MU defence (Jones looks fine for now)...

I do only have .2 in the bank now, so that's why I'm thinking now if I am going to so can get those price rises in the next 2 weeks...

Yeah that's my thinking. Kewell over the course of the season will score well, but I think most of what Sydney do will have Carle involved.

I need to free up some cash too and it has to be a Melbourne player as my only keeper is Covic (went for a cheap keeper that doesn't play as my second). So now need a keeper this weekend haha. I'm in the top 300 so want to make sure I get things right...

Have made a couple of changes to my team based on several points

        Team is now

        Vorm

        Jones Gabbidon Koscielny

        Nani VDV Silva Drenthe

        Van Persie Adebayor Dzeko

I brought in Koscielny based on the fact that Vermaelen is now back and Arsenal play Norwich, Fulham and Wigan in their next 3 and Stoke have not been anywhere near their generally stable selves so Shawcross out was easy enough.

Had to get rid of Walters due to Koscielnys excess value over Shawcross but Drenthe in a close to fully fit Everton squad isn't a massive risk.

        Any thoughts?

My worry with Koscielny would be rotation with the BFG (Big fn German)...

I doubt it though, Mertesacker has been shite and koscielny hasn't actually been bad recently.

Completely agree with Kosy (I'm an Arsenal fan). I do like Kosy, but at the same time, I don't think Mertesacker has been that bad. And I think common consensus amongst Gunners fans would see TV/PM as the central pairing and maybe Kosy on the right whilst Sagna is out. With TV now fit, he's first choice, but I think it's far from secure to go either way on the second central spot... Just my thoughts.

Just to add to that, I recall reading an article re Wenger commenting on this and mentioning about the balance and so on. Kosy could also play left (as could TV), but Gibbs isn't far off either.

It will also depend on who they are playing... Ie against WBA height was not as much an issue as opposed to say Stoke where the Germans height adds to the defence.

Like I say, just my thoughts, but I reckon we'll see some rotation as to who plays alongside TV.
