The stats did say Kane so members were saying. Most fell into the Kun trap that mark has talked about in the podcasts. I got lucky and captained Kane, got in Kompany and have Siggy, Toby a, alli. Sorry to rub it in but I'm on 65 with Vardy, Mahrez and Simpson to play. However I have already spuffed my wildcard and with 3 Leicester and 3 spurs to get rid of you can catch ppl like me up in the dgws

Use 1FT on players who have more than 1 DGW. Leave your mids and forwards atm and change a defender/goalie. Migs/ Robles or Everton/Pool/W ham defender.

Conte will call president Carlo Tavecchio on Monday to officially confirm he will be leaving his post after the Euros in France. [TV Rai]

#Chelsea would then be free to announce they have agreed terms with Antonio Conte to take over from Guus Hiddink in the summer. [TV Rai]

    --

Manager is not our problem.. Costa, Fabregas, Matic, Hazard, Cahill.. ffs, players are! hope Costa is sold to PSG this summer.

Aren't they some of the best players at Chelsea? I don't think the secret to solving Chelsea's woes will be to sell all their best players

not best.. pretty average this season and their work rate is very low. Cahill is a good defender along side Terry, alone he is weak. Costa's aggression is uncontrollable. Matic & Fabregas are clueless. Hazard is already planning his next move.

They were all the stars when Chelsea won the league last season. They don't suddenly become average as a result of one season. They are the best players, but for some reason something wasn't right this season. Whatever that is, its that which needs to get fixed.

what do you think the issue is? Mourinho/Doctor? club? work rate?

              Mourinho, imo.

He loves winning more than any player or club. He puts so much blame on others if he loses that people tend to lose their willingness to play or do their job.

Look at Madrid, all these World Class players struggling. They wouldn't be 3rd if there was as much competition in La Liga.

It'll take time for any manager to get them back on track. Guus has overachieved on that front.

I think this has a bit to do with it. The players confidence was shot. A new manager and a new season can change everything.

This. I find it so amusing that some Chelsea fans are so keen to sell their players who just won the league so convincingly. One bad season and they are on their backs. The solution is elsewhere, buying/selling players has nothing to do with it.

Big part of the issue is the ethic of the team, or lack of rather. They don't play for each other like last season.

They should have walked the league this year but they don't work hard enough in my opinion.

Just done a little bit of planning for possibly DGW 34 if Liverpool, Chelsea, City, Newcastle, Arsenal, WBA are the teams that have DGW in 34 and no blank in 35.

To be honest I'm not that excited by what's on offer. Possibly a very average team

      1. Jafooli
        • 13 Years
        9 years, 10 months ago

        In 33 I could get for DGW34

        Courtois* - Myhill*
        Kompany* - Azpil* - Bellerin* - Dawson* - Francis
        Ozil* - Firmino* - Wijnaldum* - Mahrez - Alli
        Aguero* - Costa* - Berahino*

12 DGW'ers which kinda negates Bench Boost (apart from GK). Haven't looked at Francis, Mahrez & Alli fixtures for 34.

However if I don't WC in 33, I'll struggle to get a decent DGW out for 34 with only 4 current DGWers

        Bit of a mess really...

Ye it's not that exciting especially if you've got to ditch Leicester and Spurs assets.
Firmino, Costa, Ozil/Sanchez are possibly the only players I'd want from that lot. Certainly not keen on having 3 Liverpool or Chelsea players

2 Pool 2 Everton 2 Arsenal keep Payet. You don't want 3 big hitters on the bench GW35. It will weaken your side and lose gains you make GW 34.

You can still have Everton because they will have 3 DGW's and you can carry 3 outfield players who don't play GW35

Morning all! For those looking at a bench boost in gameweek 34 having wildcarded a week before which defenders are you considering? I'm looking at Bellerin, PVA, Dawson, Jagielka but nothing fills me with confidence! Anyone obvious I've missed? I would be getting DDG and Mignolet as keepers I think.

Certain question has just got me thinking, what position do you think FPL will have Dier listed as next season? Defender or midfielder? He won't be as strong an FPL player if they have him as a midfielder

Lukaku worth a punt this weekend. Scored 2 very nice goals in the cup, Arsenal on the other hand seem desperately out of form.

Dont know who I would drop though, Kane has Bournemouth and Vardy has Palace, both good fixtures.

Well normally its the batsmen who have the advantage. But this year its definitely bowlers.

Main advantage batsmen had before was that 5 bonus for SR above 100. Now that has been increased to 120. Makes it a little harder. Only 15 points for a half century.

For bowlers, the bonus points for Economical spells started from 6 and below before, this WC, it's 7 runs per over. Massive advantage. 15 bonus for 2 wickets is also good.

      1. The Fantastic Mr Fox
        • 11 Years

Hmmm.. but 1 bad over can spoil their entire spell. I feel there haven't been too many quality batsmen so far in the qualifiers hence the low scores. When Gayle, Kohli, ABD, Kane come in.. it will change quite a bit

        1. EmreCan Hustle
          • 13 Years
          9 years, 10 months ago

          That's true.

But 2 wickets in a 20 runs over is still a good over.

No doubt Gayle, AB and Miller will even things out.

    Butland
    Kompany | Toby | Azpi
    Mahrez | Siggy | Ozil | Alli

I dunno. He was superb in the first 8 years, and managed very well when constrained during the stadium build. But the last 5 years have been very underwhelming. He is too stubborn to change his ways, and they aren't working. No leaders and players aren't fighting for him. He looks a sorry old man, which is really sad to see.

        Klopp would have been ideal.

He just needs to realise there are no leaders in the team and Ramsey & Co. won't get the job done under pressure.
Spend some money and get Godin or some World Class players that have experience of winning.

I'll be happy if he stays on.

Isn't this the problem though? He has unlimited belief in players that continue to fail.

I'm a big Wenger fan, but we've gone backwards in recent years despite there being money available to strengthen if needed. There is no leadership and very few players are fighting for him.

I think he should go myself.

        1. EmreCan Hustle

          I agree with you.

None one of Ramsey, Wilshere, Walcott or Ox has been able to take things to the next level. A major part of this is down to lack of accountability in the team. They make mistakes, Wenger only sees the positives.

But this year Wenger has criticized a lot of his players after losses against Barcelona, Utd and Watford. He obviously won't risk damaging their morale too much at this stage.

But in the summer he will bring in some changes(should he stay). He isn't stupid. He knows it won't be long before Chelsea and Utd are back with a vengeance, with the added threat from Klopp and Poch next season.

Liverpool v Chelsea could still go in GW37 - as could Arsenal v West Brom and Newcastle v Man City. I think Liverpool are the only team you can currently list until the fixtures come out and provide clarity.
