In spite of a five-match Gameweek, there’s still plenty to pore over in our first members’ article of the week. Think you've got it slightly wrong with palace. They're not confirmed to have a dgw 37.

Thinking about GW33 wildcard out loud and how to get 15DGWers for GW34, 11 out in GW35 and 11 DGWers for GW37...

Everton, Liverpool and Crystal Palace have 7 matches in the 5GWs so loading up on them is very advisable.

You’ll have a maximum of 2FTs by GW35 to swap out blankers. However, given everyone with a blank in 35 has a double in 37 you’ll want them back again so they are essentially wasted transfers.

Everton and Palace do not (currently) have a fixture in GW35 so you can only have 4 of them.

To have 15 DGWers in GW34 and 11 out in GW35 you’ll need at least 11 players from Liverpool, Arsenal, West Brom, Newcastle, Man City.

    So the idea would be:

    Wildcard for GW33 and get:

    3 from Liverpool
4 from Everton and Crystal Palace
8 from Arsenal, West Brom, Newcastle, Man City

    Save your GW34 transfer

Use 1 transfer in GW35 to:

Remove one of your Arsenal/West Brom/Newcastle/Man City players

Bring in someone from Chelsea or Sunderland

    GW36

Use 1 transfer to bring in a player from Everton, Crystal Palace, Watford, West Ham, Man United, Chelsea, Sunderland or Norwich

    GW37

Use your 2 transfers to bring in players from Everton, Crystal Palace, Watford, West Ham, Man United, Chelsea, Sunderland or Norwich.

So by now you should have 11DGWers:

    3 from Liverpool
4 from Everton and Crystal Palace you got on your wildcard
1 from Chelsea or Sunderland you got in GW35
3 from Everton, Crystal Palace, Watford, West Ham, Man United, Chelsea, Sunderland or Norwich you got in GW36 and GW37

And then you’ve navigated this without taking a hit? That sound correct? Or have I messed up here somewhere?!

This isn’t to say hits are bad but injuries will happen so minimising planned ones is advisable!

One henagtive to this is no United or West Ham for DGW34. With their fixtures that week, I would want at least 2 (DDG, Payet)

Yeah, it is. Actually any of the FA Cup semi finalists can be in the 4 you bench in GW35.

Better to say have 3 from Everton and then 1 from the others. So basically Payet!

            Awesome stuff!

Despite somehow missing that I have planned my pre-GW 30 transfers along those lines.

I can't say I'm fond of being so reliant on the teams with a double 34 and no blank in 35 given who and how many there are. Currently thinking wildcard in 36 and give myself more flexibility in the two doubles and keep Leicester/Spurs players a few weeks longer.

what about Man U players as they have 2 DGW you haven't mentioned this but they have the best GW34 potential? is there anyway to do this by having Martial De Gea and/or Smalling and still have 11 in GW's 35 & 37

After writing this I am tempted to see when that Everton v Palace game is. If it's in GW36 or later I might wildcard then.

Have 6 GW34 DGWers and 2 FTs right now so can get 11 by then. Means I can hang on to Leicester and Spurs assets until 35.

As I'm chasing two ML leaders who have used their wildcard that might work better for me. Don't like the idea of relying on so many from Arsenal/West Brom/Newcastle/Man City.

Looks solid in terms of getting out the most games/week possible (except you left out United and West Ham at the beginning with Palace and Everton).

Also potentially worth noting Everton's extra fixture, wherever it may fall.

BUT, most importantly, we cannot fall into the trap of thinking a shitty DGW player is automatically better than a very good single GW player. For example I would much prefer Mahrez over any mid from Palace, if that's my option, also factoring what the fixtures are.

Dayum that's some fancy planning. Of course this does mean that some of these assets are very expensive.

It's almost not completely feasible to essentially have the realms of the traditional big teams (who have not exactly been doing well...)

The way I understand this is you would need to have two DGW keepers in GW34 and one of these would then have to be benched and thus only leave ten DGWers playing for GW37. Or have I missed something?

    20. dmhomag
      • 11 Years

      Incorrect.

4 Everton, CP in 34 means one has to leave in 35, otherwise you can't field 11.

Helpful. Not sure I want 3 players from Everton and Liverpool in my team, and certainly not and players from Crystal Palace, West Brom or Newcastle.

The restriction not having a WC brings may actually be a benefit. Can see some players gaining more points in one game than others will in two.

Following this plan you need to make sure that your four players from eve/cry are in such a combination that you can bench them gw35 (so not both gks or more than two defenders).

Really nice. Triple Man Utd at the back (or 2 + Martial) seems extremely promising for DGW34, but I guess the spots for players with blank GW35 should prioritize Everton

Latecomers note I did mess up one bit.

You can have 4 players from any of the 5 teams left in the FA Cup on your wildcard to bench in GW35. One clearly needs a 'keeper.

The limitations on the other 11 stand though. You'll need 11 from Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Newcastle and West Bromwich to get 15 DGWers in 34 and 11 out in 35.

Balders is the pro so I'll leave it up to him! I was just trying to get it all straight in my head and thought I may as well share the thoughts 🙂

Tbh i genuinely think we need to wait for the Everton v Palace game to be rearranged before making any decisions. IMO, if it's in 35 or before then GW33/34 WC/BB is best. If it's in 36 or later then GW36/37 WC/BB is best.

I think when I use my wildcard in week 33 I'll have a squad along the lines of:

      GK: De Gea, Hennessey
DF: Sakho, Bellerin, Mangala, Janmaat, Koscielny,
MF: Firmino, Mahrez, Ozil, Payet, Milner,
      FW: Ighalo, Martial and Aguero.

That gives me 14 playing two games in week 34 and I only need one transfer to field 11 in week 35 (possibly Lloris for De Gea). It also gives me a transfer to carry forward to week 36 and try and organise for double week 37.

      Robles, Mignolet
      Dann, Sakho, Gabriel, Janmaat, Clichy
      Barkley, Coutinho, KDB, Sanchez, Iwobi
      Aguero, Mitrovic, Lukaku

I know what BB is just wondered what you meant by next 2 if I have it. What does that mean for my strategy?

Okay the WC in 33 to bring in all the DGW players and then use the BB in the actual DGW so that I have 15 DGWers?

Does that not kill me in GW35?

                  Loving this. Cheers.

So, in summary, (and sorry for not reading all the previous pages), use WC in 33, BB for the DGW in 34, 2 FTs in 35 and go from there?

                  Looks like very good news...

Would you wildcard a little bit ahead of schedule (this week) if your defence was Kompany, Cedric, Souare, Nyom and Francis. And only 1 FT.

What 5 defenders are we planning to get in gw34? Kinda struggling at the moment.

Does Bellerin, Clyne, Cresstell, Dawson and Rojo sound okay?

Gomes and Elliott will be keepers.

Given the fixtures / DGWs until the end of the season, which 2 would you rather own for a draft league out of this lot?

    A.) Mata (2 DGWs!)
    B.) Willian
    C.) Lamela
    D.) Arnautovic

          2 questions..
          1. Best Kompany replacement...
          2. Aim for WC- GW 33 or GW 37
          I guess they are related.

          Schmeichel, Butland
          Toby, Komp, Williams, Fran, Fonte
          Eriksen, Siggy, Mahrez, Payet, Stan
          Aguero, Vardy, Kane
          1ft, 4.2m in bank

          Would really appreciate some feedback.

Trying to get my head around these DGW/Blanks.

Currently have 6 players with a DGW34 (including Kompany and GK) and only 3 with GW35 blanks (inc 1 GK), meaning i can field 10 DGW'ers in 34 and only 2 of the 4 DGW34'ers i get in need to play GW35.

Does you prefer the sound of this or GW33 WC?

arsenal and liverpool have the best fixtures in dgw 34 imo for big attacking points. and united possibly for defence points.

lei have sunderland gw33 when people will be using w/c ready for gw34
utd have tot away gw33, wat have eve gw33, if you want wbrom for dgw, they have city gw33
wham v ars, gw33 gonna be few players against each other when w/c is played. but of course if you are planning on chips then you need to w/c then, hope dont get injuries either, then theres the blanks in gw35 ! theres gonna be a lot of headaches around lol, good luck

yeah definitely, pretty much all the players i want have poor gw33. i ideally would WC in 36 but my team is a bit short. although i might just take a -8 for 34 instead.

and its losing the likes of ali, kane, mahrez, vardy etc, but for some its hopefully the way to make ground, as gw37 may be to late to do anything if people are behind in leagues, will be interesting which w/c and chip will be the most popular, gw34, or 37, good luck

Anybody considering not having Kun for DGW34? Frees up a lot of money to be spent else where. Plus, Newcastle may have tightened up at the back under Rafa and Chelsea won't be a walk in the park for him? Just thinking out loud...

I did well a couple years ago by forgoing Kun in the run in for Dzeko. It could be good for chasers. Lukaku is now the prized asset.

My thoughts exactly. You could easily gain more points accross the field with money that he would free up. Well, that's providing he doesn't come our and bang in a major haul, which he is capable of. That's the risk you take with him I suppose..

thinking of using WC in GW33 and BB in GW34 as it would be easier to have a full 15 in GW 34 then, use 4 FT to get chelsea players etc and have 11 DGW players at least playing in GW37 and use Triple Captain then or do you think it would be best to save Wildcard until GW 36 and maximise the bench boost with only 2 gameweeks it will affect and Trip Captain in 34?
