Many of the community’s double Gameweek plans were being hastily rewritten as a result of the red-hot form shown by the likes of Harry Kane and Riyad Mahrez. Our hot topic posters chart their u-turns and second thoughts over the potential use of Fantasy Premier League chips and wildcards, while our community articles section turns its attention to the most consistent and explosive captaincy options. Rafa Benitez’s revolution at Newcastle comes under the spotlight in our Members tables and we also reveal who are leading the way in our community leagues.

The Community Articles

Captaincy candidates for the impending double Gameweeks came under the watchful eye of TM245 this week. His analysis of the best midfield and forward candidates for the triple captaincy chip is a must read as the community makes its plans for the upcoming extended fixture list. The FPL veterans, being tracked by Kavali, will be among those keeping a watchful eye on the best options over the next few Gameweeks as they continue their long march to respectability.

Meanwhile, the World T20 Fantasy game entered its third phase this week and Moin was on hand to offer his advice.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Double gameweek planning continues to dominate discussion but, ponders Andy85wsm, is the chance to play 15 players with two fixtures in Gameweek 34 clouding our judgement?

Ditching in-form single Gameweek 34 players such as Kane could prove potential blunders, according to Lightbody’s discussion on double Gameweeks. The Kane captainers featured in our Gameweek 31 rough with the smooth will certainly be having second thoughts about jettisoning the Spurs man after he brought them a 32-point FPL haul. Southampton’s in-form striker Graziano Pelle is another single Gameweeker that is upsetting the community’s double Gameweek plans, according to Irish Madridsta.

There were plenty more torn-up double Gameweek plans when we asked whether Fantasy managers were having second thoughts about going all out with 15 players in Gameweek 34. In addition, the news that Everton and Crystal Palace have a double Gameweek 33 also forced a few hasty rewrites.

RoysCallerAnne has endured the roughest of seasons but is hoping the double Gameweeks can bring him some much-needed joy. Instead of opting for popular Gameweek 34 picks such as Sergio Aguero, he is on a mission to create a potential rankings-boosting differential squad.
Later in the week NickofOz served up Newcastle’s Alexsandar Mitrovic as a potential target for those looking for a double Gameweek punt.

Our more creative community members have also been busy constructing online tools to help Fantasy managers get their thoughts together and select the best players. Jossy’s double Gameweek gadget can be found here, while Twisted Saltergater is another to put his online skills to good use.

Whether looking for a good punt for Gameweek 32 or a double Gameweek player on a wildcard Evs warns against picking players from teams with nothing to play for and are more interested in making summer holiday plans.

Members Tables

For those looking to keep a close eye on Rafa Benitez’s chances of retaining Premier League status for Newcastle SixtySeven has created a table tracking their key players. This has an open filter allowing for comparisons between pre- and post-Benitez era Magpies.

Before investing in a striker for the up coming double Gameweeks Members are urged to look at Balders’ latest table, looking at those who are at risk of losing out in FPL’s bonus point system.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form.

The Community Tournaments

Jarvish’s Frequent Posters Cup reaches the last 16 stage in Gameweek 32 with iCon, Ayew Serious and Pompeyfan among those to emerge victorious from the previous round in Gameweek 31.

In the Top 10k Any Season league, Ralf Buckenmaier has regained the lead and also reached 99th in the overall FPL rankings, while Nial Akata continues to lead the January to May League. Both these competitions are organised by Red Lightning.

The top five in the FFScout moderators and contributors league stayed the same after Gameweek 1, which means Andy remains at the summit, keeping second placed Evs at bay once again.

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score was 79, which saw 46 players depart and 128 remain.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

I'm really starting to pull my hair out now. I've said all along WC Gw36 and BB 37 but I beieve with the Everton / CP dgw 33 it has to be WC 33 BB 34.
Only thing is GW 35 has 8 teams not playing which mean a few players missing out. Is anyone else losing the will to live with how to play the chips. Can't remember a season with soooooooooooo many DGW's

A juicy alternative that someone sumptuously plated up earlier was the option wildcarding now, then playing Lukaku triple captain GW 33, followed by bench boost gw34.

Lukaku has, in my opinion, the best TC potential with his nice looking gw33 fixtures.

anyone considering nno aguero in wc team? if you get de bruyne instead you have cover and can captain kane in 35. team looks so much better too. costa, rather than aguero, is the one to get after 35 i think

Cause KDB gets points every time Kun scores right?

Personally I don't see KDB as cover. KDB does nothing away; Kun not great away but more likely to do something and can always score through pens.

I think if this game has taught us one thing over the years, it's that Kun's explosive nature is too hard to ignore, especially with his ownership %.

kept kun earlier in season instead of replacing for costa before costa went big because of advice on here

If you don't think Agüero will score well I don't think anyone from City will score well. So at that point KDB won't do much either imo.

Got one spare transfer left by gw 35 so would be 10 without any hits.

Nice. I reckon Welbeck could be a better option that Martial though assuming he plays both games. Look at arsenals fixtures post gw34 too. They're very nice + welbeck doesn't blank gw35.

Also, not sure on how many CS that palace are gonna be keeping tbh. Seem to be in melt down, and if I remember rightly they don't have the nicest of DGW fixtures.

well we got a point at Blackpool today which wasn't great

We've lost Nathan Cameron for the season and that is a massive loss, and we're also struggling without Leon Clarke.

Danny Mayor looks like he's finding form again and Nathan Delfouneso was a PL player once. If we can find our scoring boots I think a top 10 finish is still on, if nit anywhere between 14th and 17th. We should have enough in the bank points wise to avoid being pulled into the relegation scrap.

        Bradford are simply on fire.
We beat them last week at our ground. And they were one of the best team I've seen this season.
Wigan are doing superbly well. But I'm just cautious, need to keep winning games.

Bury was doing so well I agree. But like you said. A huge step forward for you guys. Hopefully we can Achebe back to back promotion back into the promised land 😉

Injuries got to us in November/December, particularly Nathan Cameron and Leon Clarke, but if we can stay in the division another season I think we can make a push for promotion

            Leon Clarke. Haha.
He's done so much more for you (including score against us)

Than he ever did for us.

We've been lucky as we got a huge squad. So we've been able to deal with injuries.

But this season has exceeded my expectations. I would've said that I'd have been happy if we'd made play offs. Considering the huge turnover of players we have had.

            Let's have a small quiz.
How many players have made their debut for Wigan this season?

If I decide to ship mahrez for my gw33 WC team I can have the following:

    Migs. Robles
    Bellerin. Kos. Rojo. Sakho. Simpson
    Ozil. Payet. Barkley. Payet. Alli
    Kun. Kane. Lukaku

    Thoughts?

          GW33 - Robles
          GW34 - Robles and Cech
          GW35 - Cech
GW36 - take your pick (Cech v NOR. Robles v BOU)

    Dawson
    DGW34 WAT, ars
    GW35 tot
    GW36 WHM
    GW37 bou

Situation: 1FT in gw35 (using 1FT in GW34 for dgw)
My defence (in gw35): Cech, DDG*, Toby, Fuchs, Cresswell*, Clyne

    1. What to do with Dawson in gw35:
    A. Save FT and play him
    B. Chelsea def (bou, TOT, sun+liv, LEI)

    2. Assuming if I choose option A, gw36 Dawson to:
    C. Klose (ars, MUN+WAT, eve)
    D. Ake (AVL, liv+nor, SUN)
    E. PVA (sto, CHE+EVE, wat)
    F. Azpilicueta (TOT, sun+liv, LEI)

If I can get 9 outfield dgwers for dgw34 (incl 3 dg33) with 2 hits, I'm better off doing the wc in gw36, right? Alternative is to wc33 of course, and bank those 2 hits should I need them
