Many of the community’s double Gameweek plans were being hastily rewritten as a result of the red-hot form shown by the likes of Harry Kane and Riyad Mahrez. Our hot topic posters chart their u-turns and second thoughts over the potential use of Fantasy Premier League chips and wildcards, while our community articles section turns its attention to the most consistent and explosive captaincy options. Rafa Benitez’s revolution at Newcastle comes under the spotlight in our Members tables and we also reveal who are leading the way in our community leagues.

The Community Articles

Captaincy candidates for the impending double Gameweeks came under the watchful eye of TM245 this week. His analysis of the best midfield and forward candidates for the triple captaincy chip is a must read as the community makes its plans for the upcoming extended fixture list. The FPL veterans, being tracked by Kavali, will be among those keeping a watchful eye on the best options over the next few Gameweeks as they continue their long march to respectability.

Meanwhile, the World T20 Fantasy game entered its third phase this week and Moin was on hand to offer his advice.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Double gameweek planning continues to dominate discussion but, ponders Andy85wsm, is the chance to play 15 players with two fixtures in Gameweek 34 clouding our judgement?

Ditching in-form single Gameweek 34 players such as Kane could prove potential blunders, according to Lightbody’s discussion on double Gameweeks. The Kane captainers featured in our Gameweek 31 rough with the smooth will certainly be having second thoughts about jettisoning the Spurs man after he brought them a 32-point FPL haul. Southampton’s in-form striker Graziano Pelle is another single Gameweeker that is upsetting the community’s double Gameweek plans, according to Irish Madridsta.

There were plenty more torn-up double Gameweek plans when we asked whether Fantasy managers were having second thoughts about going all out with 15 players in Gameweek 34. In addition, the news that Everton and Crystal Palace have a double Gameweek 33 also forced a few hasty rewrites.

RoysCallerAnne has endured the roughest of seasons but is hoping the double Gameweeks can bring him some much-needed joy. Instead of opting for popular Gameweek 34 picks such as Sergio Aguero, he is on a mission to create a potential rankings-boosting differential squad.
Later in the week NickofOz served up Newcastle’s Alexsandar Mitrovic as a potential target for those looking for a double Gameweek punt.

Our more creative community members have also been busy constructing online tools to help Fantasy managers get their thoughts together and select the best players. Jossy’s double Gameweek gadget can be found here, while Twisted Saltergater is another to put his online skills to good use.

Whether looking for a good punt for Gameweek 32 or a double Gameweek player on a wildcard Evs warns against picking players from teams with nothing to play for and are more interested in making summer holiday plans.

Members Tables

For those looking to keep a close eye on Rafa Benitez’s chances of retaining Premier League status for Newcastle SixtySeven has created a table tracking their key players. This has an open filter allowing for comparisons between pre- and post-Benitez era Magpies.

Before investing in a striker for the up coming double Gameweeks Members are urged to look at Balders’ latest table, looking at those who are at risk of losing out in FPL’s bonus point system.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form.

The Community Tournaments

Jarvish’s Frequent Posters Cup reaches the last 16 stage in Gameweek 32 with iCon, Ayew Serious and Pompeyfan among those to emerge victorious from the previous round in Gameweek 31.

In the Top 10k Any Season league, Ralf Buckenmaier has regained the lead and also reached 99th in the overall FPL rankings, while Nial Akata continues to lead the January to May League. Both these competitions are organised by Red Lightning.

The top five in the FFScout moderators and contributors league stayed the same after Gameweek 1, which means Andy remains at the summit, keeping second placed Evs at bay once again.

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score was 79, which saw 46 players depart and 128 remain.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

    Sick of opening FPL to find a 6 figure rank? Got nothing but pride to play for? Looking to have some fun and end your season on a high?

    The solution is staring you right in the eyes in the shape of a 5'8 Argentinian... Get rid of Aguero and let the good times roll! Seriously. Make a WC draft without him and you'll never go back 🙂

        Mine is

        HENNESSEY, Elliot
        Kompany, Bellerin, Wolly, Simpson, JEvans
        Sanchez, Mahrez, Eriksen, Arnie, Alli
        Aguero, Kane, Vardy

        Bank 1.3m, 2FT

        Could do something like Wolly/Eriksen/Arnie/Vardy -> Coleman/Barkley/Bolasie/Lukaku for a -4 which with Hennessey gives me 5 DGWers for 33

    Decent enough plan to delay WCing till 36?

    GW32: Eriksen -> Ozil
    GW33: Kompany, Arnie & Vardy -> Ward, Barkley & Lukaku (-4)
    GW34: Wolly -> Rojo
    GW35: Lukaku -> Pelle/Vardy

    Would mean 5 DGWers in 33, 9 DGWers plus Kane & Mahrez in 34 and 11 decent starters in 35

    Hennessey, Elliot
    Kompany, Bellerin, Wolly, Simpson, JEvans
    Sanchez, Mahrez, Eriksen, Arnie, Alli
    Aguero, Kane, Vardy

    Bank 1.3m, 2FT

        I mean apart from Arsenal, let's look at the teams involved in DGW34 from 9th April to 21st April:

        Everton: 4 matches in 12 days
        City: 4 matches in 10 days
        West Ham: 4 matches in 12 days
        MUN: 4 matches in 11 days
        Liverpool: 5 matches in 13 days

        Not to mention 3 days later is the FA Cup Semi-finals for teams involved!

            I'd have three DGW players in 33. That's more than enough IMO. Wouldn't want 3 from palace!
            Wildcard in 36 makes you stronger for the run in I believe. As injuries is likely to pile up. And we will know more which games are 6 pointers. And can get nailed on players. And finially, with wc36 I can easily get Sturridge, Lukaku and Costa front three. 🙂

    How's this looking for wildcard 33 bb 34

    Robles mignolet
    Ward, Coleman , sahko, mangala, bellerin
    Ozil, lanzini, payet, coutinho, mahrez
    Kun, lukuku, kane

      No to ward. No to mangala. Save some money doing Coleman to Jagielka. You're missing man Utd players.

    I would love both Ivan and Payet this week but will mean a -4. I just have a feeling both will deliver, plus I'll stick the armband on Dimitri. Worth it for a hit? Id be getting rid of Dawson and Eriksen

      I don't think so, but going by your feelings that they will deliver then surely it is worth it.

        Cheers EF, yeah its one of those gut feelings against the probably reality.

        I think Ivan has scored 6 goals against Villa in his career. Payet will be upbeat from his international return..

        Still have a week to decide I guess. One last punt before WC

          I get the sneaky feeling Villa will score. Thell still lose, but for some reason I can see them scoring. If so you'll be relying on Ivan scoring too. Although that isn't exactly a hard thing to envisage I suppose.

        interesting. when he plays i think rooney is the highest point scorer playing as the striker and all. and i think explosiveness gives sanchez the edge over ozil. and i would never captain smalling.

        interesting that no wc teams have rooney atm, and those wildcarding this week might have to scramble to get him in, as he looks the best captain option against villa and cpa

          Indeed, I'm looking at Rooney too. Just depends on where he plays really, and Rashford'd situation when he's back.

          Smalling could be a genius captaincy option.

          Why bother even asking the question Striker?
          Seems to me you have your mind made up,
          Here's my take on it anyway:
          Belkerín is nailed.Czech (if fit) is nailed
          The thing with Kos that people are forgetting is his propensity to pick up an injury (back) and it's plausible Kos/Merte/Gabby will get 1 game each and someone two.
          Monreal will probably give way to Gibbs too midweek.
