Many of the community’s double Gameweek plans were being hastily rewritten as a result of the red-hot form shown by the likes of Harry Kane and Riyad Mahrez. Our hot topic posters chart their u-turns and second thoughts over the potential use of Fantasy Premier League chips and wildcards, while our community articles section turns its attention to the most consistent and explosive captaincy options. Rafa Benitez’s revolution at Newcastle comes under the spotlight in our Members tables and we also reveal who are leading the way in our community leagues.

The Community Articles

Captaincy candidates for the impending double Gameweeks came under the watchful eye of TM245 this week. His analysis of the best midfield and forward candidates for the triple captaincy chip is a must read as the community makes its plans for the upcoming extended fixture list. The FPL veterans, being tracked by Kavali, will be among those keeping a watchful eye on the best options over the next few Gameweeks as they continue their long march to respectability.

Meanwhile, the World T20 Fantasy game entered its third phase this week and Moin was on hand to offer his advice.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Double gameweek planning continues to dominate discussion but, ponders Andy85wsm, is the chance to play 15 players with two fixtures in Gameweek 34 clouding our judgement?

Ditching in-form single Gameweek 34 players such as Kane could prove potential blunders, according to Lightbody’s discussion on double Gameweeks. The Kane captainers featured in our Gameweek 31 rough with the smooth will certainly be having second thoughts about jettisoning the Spurs man after he brought them a 32-point FPL haul. Southampton’s in-form striker Graziano Pelle is another single Gameweeker that is upsetting the community’s double Gameweek plans, according to Irish Madridsta.

There were plenty more torn-up double Gameweek plans when we asked whether Fantasy managers were having second thoughts about going all out with 15 players in Gameweek 34. In addition, the news that Everton and Crystal Palace have a double Gameweek 33 also forced a few hasty rewrites.

RoysCallerAnne has endured the roughest of seasons but is hoping the double Gameweeks can bring him some much-needed joy. Instead of opting for popular Gameweek 34 picks such as Sergio Aguero, he is on a mission to create a potential rankings-boosting differential squad.
Later in the week NickofOz served up Newcastle’s Alexsandar Mitrovic as a potential target for those looking for a double Gameweek punt.

Our more creative community members have also been busy constructing online tools to help Fantasy managers get their thoughts together and select the best players. Jossy’s double Gameweek gadget can be found here, while Twisted Saltergater is another to put his online skills to good use.

Whether looking for a good punt for Gameweek 32 or a double Gameweek player on a wildcard Evs warns against picking players from teams with nothing to play for and are more interested in making summer holiday plans.

Members Tables

For those looking to keep a close eye on Rafa Benitez’s chances of retaining Premier League status for Newcastle SixtySeven has created a table tracking their key players. This has an open filter allowing for comparisons between pre- and post-Benitez era Magpies.

Before investing in a striker for the up coming double Gameweeks Members are urged to look at Balders’ latest table, looking at those who are at risk of losing out in FPL’s bonus point system.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form.

The Community Tournaments

Jarvish’s Frequent Posters Cup reaches the last 16 stage in Gameweek 32 with iCon, Ayew Serious and Pompeyfan among those to emerge victorious from the previous round in Gameweek 31.

In the Top 10k Any Season league, Ralf Buckenmaier has regained the lead and also reached 99th in the overall FPL rankings, while Nial Akata continues to lead the January to May League. Both these competitions are organised by Red Lightning.

The top five in the FFScout moderators and contributors league stayed the same after Gameweek 1, which means Andy remains at the summit, keeping second placed Evs at bay once again.

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score was 79, which saw 46 players depart and 128 remain.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

England team to play Germany: Butland, Clyne, Smalling, Cahill, Rose, Henderson, Dier, Alli, Lallana, Welbeck, Kane

    What formation is this? 4-3-2-1?

    Hi everyone

Considering double up with Alexis/Ozil + Firmino/Coutinho, which is better option?

    A) Sakho and Welbeck at 12.0 total
    B) Koscielny and Sturridge at 16.1 total

Personally prefer Arsenal defensively and Liverpool attack wise - 4.1 difference could be paid IMO.

      A. sturridge will be rotated and is made of glass. plus he's too greedy, and klopp won't stand for that which is why he keeps getting hauled off

        Wildcard team is

        Eliot DDG
        Sakho bellerin Delaney Rojo Clyne
        Sanchez Lennon ozil Mahrez Payet
        Aguero Kane rashford

Then switch Kane to rashford for gw33
        Delaney to Janmaat in gw34
Leaves me needing to spend 4 or 8 I think in gw35

Just prefer Payet to coutinho/firmino and Lennon for doubles
Rashford I think will start over lingard when Rooney back

Not sure you need Delaney/Jasnmaat that could cut down on a hit, you could change Eliott to henna and play him Dgw33, who would Lennon become in 35?

Posted this on Arsenal defence bottom of last page:

Bellerín is nailed.Czech (if fit) is nailed.
The thing with Kos that people are forgetting is his propensity to pick up an injury (back) and it's plausible Kos/Merte/Gabby will get 1 game each and someone two.
Kos safest of these 3 for 2 games but I do expect Merte to get a game somewhere.
Also Monreal will probably give way to Gibbs too midweek,
So be careful with that Arsenal def pick.

    1. Skipdipper
      • 14 Years

But they've nothing else to play for and Gabriel is way better than mert and has started when not suspended of late?

Yes but how many times have we seen him miss a game out of nowhere?
Arse could easily mix those 3 around, remember they have 3 games in 1 week,

        Palace (home) 17th
        WBA (home) 21st
        Sunderland (away) 24th

You could see a few changes for the WBA game for sure.

He started decently but has been shocking from GW6 on, think he may have lost confidence after Tadic and Alexis absolutely destroyed him in quick succession. He offers nothing offensively but is alright with his last ditch tackles, not much to him otherwise.

Spot on. Bellerin and Cech will play 2 games, Koscielny likely 2 and Monreal, Gabriel, Gibbs and Mertesacker 1 each. Unless there are injuries. Koscielny could get rotated out against sun in 35 too.

Cech is the safest bet when he's fit. Even though Ospina played very good in last matches and doesn't deserve to lose his spot. If I was Wenger I'd play the same defence in both matches (Bellerin, Koscielny, Gabriel, Monreal). That's our strongest back 4 at the moment and we're trying to catch Leicester and Spurs. Dare I say we're still fighting for the title. We have nothing to lose and there are 4 days between the matches which should be enough for a professional football player to get some rest and prepare for the next game. Unless there are some injuries I believe we'll play the same back 4 and Gabriel will start. But you never know with Mr. Wenger. He could rest Bellerin and play Chambers - nothing is impossible. He knows so much more about the players than me so I'd rather not comment at all.

I think the only big problem is whether to keep Kane or not.If not, extra funds are enable to spend and get better dgw players. The standard in defence is to have 2 pool players and 2 arsenal based on fixtures. Then you can have 1 united or something else for secure cs.Then on mids you must have firminio and ozil or sanchez, the season keeper mahrez and one from west ham.For strikers surely Kun and Aguero.I choose to keep Kane as the only reliable striker with great form .I also have Kun but i dont know if he will explode now or not.So thinking all these my wc team gw33 is about this one..
    Robles,Elliot
    Clyne,Sakho,Belerin,Rojo,Morgan
    Lingard,ozil,mahrez,firminio,payet
    Kane,kun,lukaku

Thats my WC team most likely, just a few "wait and see" moves. Thoughts?

    Robles/ Cech
    Clyne/ Sakho/ Smalling/ X/ Simpson
    Ozil/ Sanchez/ XX/ Mahrez/ Antonio
    Lukaku/ Aguero/ XXX

X - cheapest nailed on MUN defender
    XX - Coutinho/ Firmino
    XXX - Deeney/ Rashford

13 DGWers for Bench Boost, and then 2 FTs rolling over to field 11 for GW35. Alternatively I could take Mahrez out for Barkley/ Wij but I think I'll keep him. Really nice GW35 lineup from that squad too...

    1. Jazz!

      X = Rojo
      XX = Coutinho

    Robles Elliot
    Bellerin Simpson Olsson Sakho Reid
    Bolasie Payet Coutinho Ozil Sanchez
    Kun Lukaku Wickham
    ( For gw33) Still got 2.6 ITB

    For gw 34
    Wickham >Mitrovic

    For Gw 35
    Bolasie > Mahrez

This means i Have 4 Dgwers for 33
    14 Dgwers for 34

Ozil and Sanchez is overkill imo. Granted they have the fixtures but Sanchez, for his price, just isn't worth the outlay for what he's been scoring.
