Who's the best replacement for Woody after this week to go with Westwood, Ruddy ,P Jones, Simpson, Brown & Wilkinson– Have 4.7m for his replacement and deciding between:
a) N Taylor
b) McAuley
c) A Hughes
d) Ward
Ward offers the best attacking threat and rotates well with Wilko. Hughes would be a close 2nd but fixtures count against him
Boyata if he back from ankle injury will be a great 4 mill def.
Id say Rangel. Last week i read a stat that he was second only to Yaya Toure for the most touches in the premier league. Furthermore, hes an offensive RB thats in the box for corners too.
Only problem with SWA is that they don't rotate well with SUN and STO (2 of my other defenders). I'm looking for someone with good fixtures in GW14,16 and 17 especially. I'm likely to start P Jones most weeks and then Wilko/Woody when their fixtures are decent, and Simpson/XXX when not. Swaying towards Ward at the moment as his fixtures are SUN, STO, NOR for thos 3, and he offers an attacking threat. Better options out there?

No, Adebayor won't be absent at all: he plays for Togo who won't be present at this year's African Cup of Nations.
This is beacuse Togo were banned from the 2011 qualifiers after they withdrew from the 2010 tournament in Angola following a fatal attack on their team bus. Adebayor retired from international football following the attack, but returned earlier this month to play for Togo during the recent international break.

Then the best strategy wouldn't have been sticking with him, it would be dropping him and bringing him back.

Its pretty moronic to use sheer results as a means of judging the best strategy. Otherwise, of course, we would come to the conclusion that the best strategic move this week would have been to sell Rooney for Yakubu for a points hit.
I'm pretty sure that the longer you stick with the ROO, the higher the chance of him coming good over those players competing with him for a place in our teams becomes. My strategy has been to go for Rooney, Van Persie and Aguero all in my team at once, as they are the truly explosive players, so I hope that at no point in the season will all my rivals get loads of points over me at once.
I hope you don't actually confuse 1 GW and 4-5GWs when you play FPL. Could get a little bit annoying.

As usual I think it's an oversimplification to say form is the ONLY indicator in the game, because fixtures can destroy form in one week - countless examples :o) Still, it's more correct than saying class or fixtures are the ONLY indicator.
In fact your biggest gamble right there, Baines, certainly can't be described as a transfer based on form. That was probably more about fixtures wasn't it?
Might be stupid, but i'm seriously considering Aguero to Bendtner this week. I'd have Silva for city coverage.
As we're entering the Xmas period, there could be potential rotation with Sergio, and i'd expect Bendtner to play all of Sunderland's games- they don't really have anyone else.
Sunderland's next 3 fixtures have great potential. City have Liverpool, Norwich, Arsenal & Chelsea in the next 4

I'm toying with the idea of ditching Aguero also. Will probably do it after the NOR game though as that could be a big score. I'm thinking that Chico or Suarez are the way to go rather than Bendtner as Sunderland don't score that many, and as an Arsenal fan I know how frustrating Bendy can be.
Wouldn't do that if you already have him. City look fixture proof on the attack (and also on the defense, in a bad way) and we've already had 4/6 CL group matches with the next one on Tuesday. The pattern is pretty clear, Aguero is #1 and starts when fit. City coverage is essential given they are the best attacking side in the Prem both on form and class, and there's no other safe City striker.
My front 8 i am happy with for now. So looking to freshen the defence:

Just ditch Torres and Suarez for now I think. I think Lampard and Adebayor won't get you the dream hauls you're hoping for. Ade has not scored for about two months now and Chelsea are in a bit of a crisis right now, I don't know if they'll score enough (or more to the point, if Lampard will) or they'll go defensive on us.

my persistence has ran out with torres, even if he has a brace against wolves (unlikely), it's likely he'll just dry up again anyway so need to boot him. Suarez has just become too frustrating, could be telling ourselves 'he'll come good' until GW 26 or so and by then too late, he also needs to go.

Is Ramsey going to get any assists/goals at all?
As a fan I follow the matches and he's played pretty damn well in most, just cannot get the last or second last touch on the ball (that's another roundabout way of thinking about goals and assists š ). I'm afraid he might be another assister of the assister like Modric. He does play in a more advanced position, behind RVP flanked by Walcott/Gervinho, but he doesn't seem to get into scoring positions.
Here's a game: read this post, look at Ramsey's weekly scores, and see if you can guess the exact week that Isacki bought him. yes, that's right, he got him for gameweek 9. Classic case of a Fantasy Manager discounting what a player has done when he doen't happen to be in their Fantasy league team, I'm afraid.
Ramsey's done pretty well in terms of goals and assists over the domestic and European fixtures this season. You're just discounting the run that he went on before you had him, which is a stupid thing to do, and the points he's got in Europe, which are definitely relevant, and the contribution he's made to the Wales team, which isn't completely irrelevant either.
No way is Ramsey a head-in-hands, "why isn't it working?!?!" case like Baines was 24 hours ago. I advise you to stick with a player for a change, looking at the number of transfers you've made (10 points hits and a wildcard gone!).

You say I brought him in gameweek 9, fail, I brought him in gameweek 11 after observing his distribution of points and thinking he was worth a gamble. I didn't kneejerk him after the 10 or 7. Now, after 2 GWs involving matches I watched where he wasn't amongst the chances, I am wondering if I made the right choice.
Kneejerks? Perhaps you'd like to see how long I've stuck with Nani, Vorm, Enrique or indeed Suarez who I only tossed a few GWs ago and has vindicated my decision.

Classic case of a manager getting defensive about a player he owns and bypassing his brain. Unlike you, I am right there.
I would give him a little more time too actually. Another week or two wouldn't hurt, he still has good fixtures before the City game and he almost got a goal too, he is close to getting points and he does venture into the box a few times every game. I would definitely stick for the Fulham and Wigan games before the next excuse of possible December rotation becomes a key point
Yeah like I say I'm just mulling over my decision, don't interpret this as me concluding to get rid. It's because the last two games were dominant against poorer opposition that it bothers me, if it was MCI/MUN/CHE/LIV/NEW/TOT I wouldn't even be asking. First step to salvation is to get RVP in for Torres
Nasri and Torres even if it is for a hit its still worth it. To VDV and Hernandez, that should put you in relatively good shape for next week
if you have 2 fts or are willing to take an 8pt hit id say torres to rvp, nasri to vdv, arteta to dyer/allen/moses
then next week look to get vorm in for howard as you already hav jags. and after taht look to downgrade ekotto and maybe jags as you have loads of money spent in your defense. especially if you will be benching one or two each week. look to slowly downgrade those defenders and then you can upgrade your third striker and a middie

I'd personally get a Sunderland player for the next 3 fixtures. Yes they were poor and hardly creating any chances yesterday against Fulham, but the next 3 games just cannot be ignored.
I think Larsson would be the best coverage but your mid is fine, so I'd probably do Klasnic to the Bendy bus. Might be bias tho cause I really dont rate Klasnic š

From your lists and their fixtures, Id be looking to downgrade Warnock and Lescott first and use the funds to upgrade Moses. Fulham is playing the top 4 in the next 6 gw so I wouldnt bother getting their defenders.

Wolves are looking awful week. Lamps could go wild. Or, he could be anonymous like he was today. I personally don't love his form enough to splash that kind of cash on him when I would just want to dump him the week after, considering I could see newcastle keeping chelsea out completely. Lamps on 4 yellows is very bad. Way to expensive until he is suspended, for me. Again, I'm tempted, but just not enough. too many good options at midfield, in the 6-7 mil bracket for me to splash for him.
You're right about United fixtures, but I am forced to think a healthy ashley young opens them up. There were moments of brilliance for them yesterday. At the very least, united are likely to get a peno at home. I think rooney was very close a couple times today, and I really think its a matter of time.

OK is this a reasonable analysis? With these in mind, what would you do?
A. Helguson + Lamps
Total PPG = 5.9 + 7.0 = 12.9;
Total Form = 7.0 + 5.5 = 12.5;
Total Value (season) = 7.9 + 6.0 = 13.9 (but helguson has played half the matches)
B. Roo + Walters
Total PPG = 6.8 + 4.8 (Walters) = 11.6;
Total Form = 2.5 + 5.0 = 7.5;
Total Value (season) = 6.2 + 9.0 = 15.2

Form over fixtures has been the story of the season so far. So I'd say role the dice with Helg or Morrison.
Helguson has proved he's fixture-proof, as long as he has form.
+1 has scored against much better defences than Norwich and WBrom.

So what's everyone's opinion on Nani? Underperforming, Utd's injuries easing? I guess midweek game will tell us more but any early thoughts on him holding the starting role next gameweek?
Not following them but aren't United are almost qualified with 2 to play? Also I understood Nani was a first choice player in an attacking team and you'd think home to Newcastle would warrant an attacking team. With Young back and Valencia playing it might get tricky for him I suppose. He has been unconvincing in the last few GWs and even his 7 last GW was a bit lucky. As an owner, at 10.1, I am more tempted to drop him than at any point in the season.
Completely agree. The money can be used elsewhere by downgrading to some really tempting options. It's def 1 to think about, i'll be keeping an eye out midweek, if he plays more then 60mins without doing much he will be high on my list to ship out.
And of course if he plays less than 60 mins I will also be restless š
I'm thinking of going totally anti-football and downgrading him to Walters, which might give me enough cash to get Balotelli > Rooney. Or Hernandez.
Looking at simular. Downgrading to Sess & getting Rooney for Suarez. Think the Roon big score is just around the corner and don't want to miss it. Also, like your move with Walters, tempting however Sess just shading it for me with the better fixtures for longer.
Pretty happy with my current team, but throwing it out there to see if anyone has any useful suggestions... with the disclaimer that I know STaylor's fixtures currently suck and that Begovic may need to go.

That is a solid team. you mite want to look at Naylor out for someone like McCauley. Purely becasue I have him & Vorm also & hate when/if I need to double up with Swans def so will be doing that myself ASAP. Boring, maybe even unnecessary, but other then that I like ur team.

I have the same 3 at the top of my hit list, using the same method was looking at Rooney & Sess this week for -4. Then upgrade Moses to Brunt next week, hoping West Brom have a striker or 2 back by then. I think it's time.

Was he poor then? I know there is a lot of love for Silva on here (and rightly so), but Lampard has only scored 3 points less and imo is more capable of huge scores (which you want for captaincy material). Add Chelsea's better fixtures and that Lampard is pretty much never rotated (unlike Silva) and I actually think it could pay off. Losing 0.5m when getting him back in isn't ideal, but this games about points....

Lampard was on my radar also purely for the reasons you make. Yesterday he looked old and fat so I personally will avoid... I agree with you he is more than capable of huge scores and no doubt will get one against wolves..

That is an interesting though. 1 i hadn't considered, but with the run of City approaching it may just be the right time to get rid of Silva, as long as you don't lose to much on him when buying him back.
I'm actually from the UK but married to an Aussie (Brisbane based). We're moving to Hong Kong in a month so at least the timing will get slightly better!
