What to do with Saurez? A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.

I have been a fool, now I have acknowledged does that make me wise... He has to go. He has to go... The question will I continue to be a fool?

I am no longer a fool, I have seen the light and the transfer will be made

As a Spurs fan, today I want Ade to look good and assist the assister, be around everything and look hungry.. Then Mr Adebayor I will transfer you into my team until wildcarding in january

Worth keeping Mata for Wolves at home?
Watching the game now but apparently he almost scored.
Thinking of just doing De Laet > Brown, but I could get in Lampard for Mata for 4 points.
    Thoughts?

No. Wolves have been shite, will go to Chelsea with their best 2 players Ohara and the mighty HUNT suspended. Should be a walk in the park for the rentboys unless they play the way they did last night.

That's what I am thinking, but will Lampard outscore Mata in this walk in the park?
I am guessing he easily could, but then again I'd have to play Enrique and Brown instead of Jones and Brown if I get in Lampard.

Football is unpredictable game, and that's the beauty of it. I mean you never know who is going to score more, AVB might rest Lamps for the Liverpool and Newcastle games. It's up to at the end of the day to decide on what you feel is better for your side, but I wouldn't take Mata off with Wolves coming up, even if it's Lampard. Not to mention Jones is a bit at a rotation threat with him featuring in every game for like a month now, and with Rafael and Smalling back on he might easily get rested next week.

Would mean either Jones > Brown or Adebayor > Klasnic to fund Mata > Lampard (-4)
I dunno if it is worth it this week, considering Lampard is looking sluggish from what I am watching and Mata has been pretty good.

Its a risk mate. You might be better of not taking the hit. If I remember correctly he needs one more yellow for a one match ban also? Not sure if it already happened.
Dont sell Jones. Hes a sure starter at the moment with United looking tidy at the back, plus hes got some attacking threat.
Adebayor > Klasnic might not be bad idea if you have other Spurs coverage although not for a hit

Not worth it for a 4 point hit imo. I'd stick with Mata and do De Laet -> Brown.

I'm looking to get some CHE coverage in for this week - either of these viable moves?

      a) Silva & Dunne -> Lamps & and Rangel
      b) Aguero/Adebayor & Dunne -> Sturridge & P Jones

      Westwood, Ruddy
      Dunne, Brown, Simpson, Wilkinson, Woodgate
      Silva, VDV, Ramsey, Sinclair, Moses
      RVP, Aguero, Adebayor

Would go for neither to be honest. Lampard is on 4 yellows, people say he will get his 5th next week to be available for the Newcastle trip but I can't see him missing out on Liverpool at home even if it's a cup game really. Keep Silva, he's a must have just like RVP is. Only concern is over Aguero's fitness and chances of featuring week in, week out. You could come up with a good pick like Bendy, Yakubu and Chico are, and that would offer you funds to improve your team elsewhere, maybe someone like Walters for Moses. Other than that, I don't see your team needing any changes to be honest.

As I said, Jones is still at a rotation threat. I mean, he's been on a top form recently, but have not had enough rest for like a month now. Only on Sat Fergie said he would keep rotating his squad and with Rafael and Smalling as well as Fabio all fit, Jones ownser should be worried. On the other hand, United have not conceded for 5 games in a row which is a bonus and enough reason to mull getting Jonesy. I'm not so sure mate, but I would wait for a few days, if he started v Benfica he woildn't be handed a start v Newcastle. Adeb has a nicer run than Sturridge, Adeb should work well on a long term plan as well. I'd just keep him.

        6
1 (QPR game, we all know what happened there)
        10
        3

I'd say wait for the UCL game & see if Mata starts. Switch, if Mata starts.

Lamps is more indispensable mid-park for us, although the second half of yest seemed to suggest otherwise.

Dilemma here: (Going to remove Gabby & Nani)

    Which option?

    A. Helguson + Lamps
    Total PPG = 5.9 + 7.0 = 12.9;
    Total Form = 7.0 + 5.5 = 12.5;
Total Value (season) = 7.9 + 6.0 = 13.9 (but helguson has played half the matches)

    B. Roo + Walters/Drenthe/Larsson
    Total PPG = 6.8 + 4.8 (Walters) = 11.6;
    Total Form = 2.5 + 5.0 = 7.5;
    Total Value (season) = 6.2 + 9.0 = 15.2

I know it may sound crazy. But watched him play against Stoke, definitely has a flair for goals. And almost all of QPR's attacking threat seem to come through him. Very difficult to ignore, when he's been so consistent. And that's considering he had tough fixtures.

Why aren't you convinced about him?

I watched the game in full swing too. It was actually the first time I'd seen him play. He was impressive enough to catch your eyes I know since scoring twice at Stoke isn't an easy task. But I just don't like jumping on players who do wonders for few weeks and then disappear. QPR are a fickle side too. Enough reasons for me not to consider him really. It's up to you anyway, if you're convinced he's the answer, well just go for him. Good luck!

            Good point about QPR.

It's just that, he's the RVP/Rooney/Suarez kind of player, where most goals for the team would be scored through him.

Lotta talk about bringing in chelsea this week vs wolves
I Wildcarded this week and have no chelsea or man u in my squad anymore
Pilkington is as much a chance to score from open play, awesome set piece or assist against qpr this week as lampard is for way way less than half price
I'm on 62 points with ade bale and vdv to play coz, gentlemen and ladies, its ALL about form in this game
It's designed for it and it rewards it
Chelsea are shocking at the moment
If you have any of their players then stick with them, I would this week, but I wouldn't bother bringing any in
I have Morison and not Pilkington by the way but he looked good against arsenal and his dead ball set pieces are ferocious and ON target

Right. Let's have some quality chat, lads. Issues:

    - What to do with these malfunctioning UTD players? Should we now be considering Baines as a midfielder (he plays there anyway) because beyond VDV, Lampard, Nani and Silva, there is no one else. 😕

    - FFS Cup. I've looked at the top 20 scores in the Southern X League and the range is 32-58. The median (?) score is 45 so if you are on this mark right now, things might get tight.

    - only a few places left in the L5 club. It would be nice to have you fellow Dead Zoners join up so that we can poke fun at each other on Monday morning 😉

    - Christina: come out a yer scamp and explain yourself 😡 You know what 🙄

    - who is going to with the 2nd Test in SA?

Might be a little unwise a move but I'm actually considering using my x2 free transfer on getting rid of the United dead wood out of my side -

Currently considering Rooney down to a < 7.0 forward and either Sessegnon or Ramsay to Lampard as a bit of a punt

As for the 2nd Test, I think the rain will win out. Predicting a draw. Although with both sides paying around the $2.50/$2.60 mark, might be worth placing a punt on either way...can't lose...well, you can, but we'll cross that bridge if and when we need to! Lol

Hey, nothing personal(although with a name like yours you need to get all the kek you can get)

I had an issue with the way the conversations and posts were going a while back. I emailed Mark, he emailed me back and although I was not 100% happy/convinced with the reply I got from Mark.... I'm putting the whole issue to bed.

I'm being more selective to whom I respond and prefer being in the background reading posts.

No worries, got the same response from Mark and wasnt convinced either.. Also decided to drop it as was becoming pathetic.

With a name like mine you go through the whole of your childhood fighting and then realise once you enter adulthood that it is actually an asset (subject to doing a good job of course) as people remember you...

baines is a 7.8 mil striker that gets big points for goals and assists and cheekily picks up points for clean sheets

lol so glad I listened to elnino over you.

I still think pricey defenders just are not worth it. I know this is the week when jones, Richards, and Baines seem justified, but I'll pass.

As for united: I'm thinking of holding on to Rooney: his ICT score has rather good and I think he's coming back strong.

My plan this week and Nani and moses out for Larsson and Walters. One for form and the other for fixtures. Our teams will surely be different after this week.

    Here's my (form) team gang
Not sure why my link doesn't show my team

    Westwood Vorm
    richards enrique baines rtaylor wilkinson
    silva vdv bale walters allen
    rvp morison adebeyor

I'm not claiming that I'm not looking at fixtures (stoke, sunderland) but I know that every time I make a bad move (like Torres over Rooney in gwk 3) I always end up kicking myself that I chose the fixtures over obvious form
I just think that even when money is tight, a lot of us pick Lampard coz he's ...well.. Lampard (I've had him all season for last 5 years!) when a lot of promoted teams throw up players like adam and pilks and these teams are FINALLY attacking bigger teams. And lets face it, this game rewards pretty much goals and assists only. So when a player hogs those duties in an attacking passing team like norwich for e.g. , then they ARE comparable to pricey warhorses like fat frank

cry me a river... Form is temporary. Basing your team purely on form is silly especially because:

form often correlates with fixtures anyway

you will be chasing old points... if you bought rooney based on his form, you'd have quickly seen it dry up

If a player has 6 easy fixtures, that isn't going to change. If he has great form... that could change quickly.

Whatever, I'm not explaining myself well, but it has to be a combination of form, fixtures, and overall value/ quality

Is van persie a fixture proof captain?

I've always planned to get aguero in for some easier games, and captain him for his 3 home games, with vanpersie vice capt.

But when I think about it... I feel safer captaining van persie away than aguero at home. At least he's almost guaranteed 90 mins (ignoring that really weird one where he came on and scored 2 anyway!) and he seems capable of scoring anywhere. Maybe the man city home game with arsenal would be the only exception!

    Thoughts?

I am tempted by Mata this week (even though before the Pool game I was ready to sell)
But I will stick to RVP for sure I think.
When RVP has Man City away, I will either captain VDV/Ade or go with RVP, but it is a while away now.
To put it simply, RVP will be my captain for the next few at least.

          RVP. Why?
          1) Set-pieces
          2) Nailed-on (unlike Kun)
          3) Too many stars in City, so an easy fixture could mean all could click. RVP indispensable for Arsenal - he's beasting almost 80% of their goals this season.

this is what I was leaning towards... So it makes me wonder... Is it worth bringing in aguero if I'm not even going to captain the bugger?! (I suppose that could apply to any expensive player though haha)

Haha Kun just doesn't do it for me. Never had him this season. More so, with these fixtures. But if you really want a City striker, go for Balo. Mancini looks to play Balo for all tough fixtures. Also, he's on PENS.

Hmmm. And don't you just love the way balotelli takes a penalty? Haha.

But after the next game, I don't think man city's fixtures are tough at all. 3 home games in 4... (norwich, arsenal and stoke)... Norwich - letsbe avenue.... Arsenal will not play defensively so could get ripped up, and stoke - they're conceding for fun right now, and can't play away from home.

They're the 3 games I was considering aguero for, with a trip to chelsea in the middle (looking like a good time for that!)

RVP. Prematch would be overtaken by fear and worry that Aguero not starting. With RVP you're just confident about him to start, and to score or assist whenever Arsenal find the net.

Just think why I would ask a lil. I've never been on here before this season so I've obviously no clue how the cup competitions are arranged. I thought it was like a H2H arrangement that we follow the updates of the scores at the end of each day of the gameweek fixtures. But thanks to your " LOVELY" reply, I have no clue whatsoever as to how things go on the FFS Cup now. Cheers, you have been such a big help.

So, how it works, is that this is the qualifying round, the top 1020 teams out of those who have registered qualify based on GW 12's score's. After this week it's a classic shootout each week with half the teams getting eliminated.

If I'm to remove Rooney, it would be a player that could do me wonders for next 3 GWs at least. I have a few options, but I can confirm that I have added your QPR's RVP to my watchlist .

Perfect. Next 2 GWs atleast look solid - Nor & Wba.

And then, give him the sack. I assure you - you'll love him too much by then 😀

I remember this was how indifferent people were to Carroll in the start of his amazing run. Naturally their concern was cos of his team.

I had Carroll since GW1 until he hmmmm vanished?
And adding the QPR's RVP is enough for now, will mull it over for the rest of the week 🙁

I just did Suarez > Helguson.

    Have 4.4 in bank

    Vorm/Ruddy

    Jones - Ward - Gabbidon - Simpson - Barnett

    VDV - Silva - Ramsey - Drenthe - Bale

    Helguson - RVP - Ade

I want to get Baines, but thinking maybe Jagielka because of price

Really need some banter to make up my mind, please.

yeah a broken toe, early reports suggested that he will take injections and play, but not sure if he will be sidelined at some time or will keep playing with it forever. however not finding distin on the subs bench for the wolves game suggest that jags will carry on with his injury playing coz at these worrying times they're not gonna play someone like shokhdan mustafi at CB

4.4 in the bank. So go for Baines if you want him. Money in the bank won't get you points. I should mention, Baines has smacked the crossbar from 3 free kicks and put in some beautiful crosses, he's just been unlucky not to get a lot more points, and I think the tide may be turning.

Thanks guys, Baines seems to be it, but since he does not seem to be getting too many transfers-in, will wait after the TOT-AV game, to make sure no injuries arise from that one.

I asked you guys to predict my score for GW 12 and most of you put it in the 60-65 range .. Currently on 47 with VDV to play and possibly 7-8 bonus points from RVP,Klasnic and ShawX..So,I guess that was pretty much nailed on ... Shows how much the people on here know their game 🙂 Hope all of you had a good game and 'Best of luck' for the Paddy Power Cup 🙂
