The EA Sports PPI figures are available and the Fantasy Premier League have updated the game with the bonus points – nice and early. With one game remaining in the gameweek, here’s a simple breakdown of how the points map out…

Everton 2 Wolves 1
Jagielka 3, Baines 2, Hunt 1

Phil Jagielka claims the maximum then – a surprise perhaps, given that Leighton Baines chipped in with an assist and the crucial winner from the spot. The Press Association data may well have recorded some impressive defensive statistics for the centre-back – we’ll look into that further with our Scout article over at the FPL later. As expected, Stephen Hunt sneaked in for the single bonus point here – he saw off Everton’s John Heitinga by just one PPI point.

Stoke 2 QPR 3
Helguson 3, Young 2, Mackie 1

QPR dominate the rankings, with Heidar Helguson recording the highest PPI score of the gameweek with 52. Luke Young’s fine goal has him capture the two bonus, with Jamie Mackie earning the single bonus for his assist – nudging ahead of Stoke’s Ryan Shawcross by just a single PPI point.

Norwich 1 Arsenal 2
Van Persie 3, Gervinho 2, Santos 1

Robin Van Persie again claims the three bonus points – no real surprise there. Gervinho fetches the two, presumably off the back of a string of on target goal attempts that boosted his PPI score. The single bonus point for Andre Santos is an even bigger surprise; the left-back was a full 5 PPI points ahead of Theo Walcott – presumably with a string of impressive PA stats to back it up. Again, this is something we’ll explore further in our Scout article.

Man City 3 Newcastle 1
Richards 3, Aguero 2, Clichy 1

Micah Richards collects the maximum as expected, with Sergio Aguero earning the two for his goal and assist contribution. Gael Clichy’s inclusion, with a single bonus point, is perhaps unexpected; he edged out Mario Balotelli by a single bonus point. We discussed in last night’s ICT analysis how Clichy’s array of defensive stats could see him figure – that appears to have been the factor at play here.

Sunderland 0 Fulham 0
Hangeland & Cattermole 3, O’Shea, Bendtner & Murphy 1

As always with a 0-0 scoreline, the breakdown of EA PPI points in this game was incredibly close. Both Fulham’s Brede Hangeland and Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole shared the maximum by virtue of PPI scores of 16. Three players were just a point behind on 15 – Niclas Bendtner, Danny Murphy and John O’Seah all shared a single bonus point.

West Brom 2 Bolton 1
Shorey 3, Long 2, Thomas 1

We mentioned last night how Nicky Shorey was the most creative player on show in the gameweek according to our ICT Index figures. It seems that his supply from left-back was a factor in sealing t the top PPI score and maximum bonus from this game. Goalscorers Shane Long and Jerome Thomas were left in his wake, picking up the remaining bonus points. Bolton’s Ivan Klasnic missed out by 5 PPI points.

Wigan 3 Blackburn 3
Yakubu 3, Hoilett 2, Caldwell & Crusat 1

Blackburn’s Yakubu was streets ahead in terms of PPI in this game, claiming the three bonus points by a 15 PPI point margin. Team-mate Junior Hoilett can closest to denying him – he collected the two, with the single bonus point being shared by two Wigan scorers – Gary Caldwell and sub Albert Crusat.

Swansea 0 Man United 1
Hernandez 3, Ferdinand 2, Vidic 1

It’s no surprise to see Javier Hernandez top the PPI rankings with his goal at the Liberty stadium proving decisive in Saturday’s game. United’s centre-back pairing ranked next in the PPI list – with Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand presumably racking up some impressive defensive statistics to help United to a third consecutive clean sheet. Again, we’ll break this down further in our Scout article later today.

Chelsea 1 Liverpool 2
Johnson 3, Rodriguez 2, Bellamy 1

Glen Johnson acquired an impressive PPI tally of 36 to come out on top in this game by a 7 point margin. Maxi Rodrigquez was his nearest rival, with Craig Bellamy nudging Charlie Adam out of the remaining bonus point by just a single PPI point. Similarly, centre-back pairing Dan Agger and Martin Skrtel, were just a couple of PPI points off bonus recognition in the 2-1 win.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Can't see why it would be taken away. It wouldn't have been given last season but there have been far more tenuous assists this year under the new rules.

Repost as got lost when Scout posted bonus points report

Back in the dim and distant days of spring a certain King Kenny was riding a wave of success with Suarez and Kuyt up front and Maxi supplying ammunition and goals. Then Carroll got fit (less unfit) and Maxi disappeared. King Kenny got the job and pool’s season stuttered to an end.

Having just bought Maxi when Carroll came in I was cross and hung on thinking the King would see the error of his ways and revert to the winning combination.

Question for Liverpool experts. Is Maxi back permanently – at 7m not expensive if he reproduces earlier form. Not kneejerking just yet!!!

You may consider it a bandwagon, but I think Maxi's return last night may be the start of something significant (assuming he is able to keep his spot).

This is based on last season's form and him sort of proving his worth to Liverpool as a starter.

Is he worth a 7m punt right now? Not sure, but could be a fantastic differential...

I'm thinking about him but at 7m he has a rather annoying price tag. I can't afford to upgrade any of my 6-6.2m mids and don't want to downgrade VDV or Silva just yet.

If he gets a run in the team then he's definitely worth a punt, did well towards the end of last year.

If there was 3 games left in the season, Liverpool were about to play at home to Wigan, I'm 15 pts behind my rival and Gerrard was still injured I' might him in.

I just think there's too many good options for around £6.0m at the moment.

Are there though? Apart from Walters? None of the other options are doing anything consistently...Ramsey, Sess, Drenthe, Sinclair...none of them are setting the FPL world alight.

Not setting the world alight but all of the above, including O'Hara (Yeah, ok so he's got a 1 match ban), MGP, Brunt are all good options in the game compared to a more expensive punt on maxi.

The above might not be doing things consistently but it's about 1 of them chipping in with 12 now and again like they all have done so far this season. Walters only have 6 more points than Sinclair and 7 more points than Sessegnon this season.

Erm, Carroll cost 35m and he is pretty much glued to the bench. Kenny isnt stupid in terms of playing players out of form etc just because they payed a lot for them.

I was glad Maxi played yesterday and said that before the game (i even mentioned him to be First Goal Scorer but didnt bloody back it) Downing has been ok, but ok aint cutting it. I hope Kenny sticks with what he went with yesterday for a while. Id even like Spearing to get the odd game over Adam too personally.

Going to Vorm wish I'd done it earlier but Stoke's wilting very unexpected. Got Woodgate to rid of as well.

Thinking Vorm/Howard as fixtures right up to DGW and w/c very good. Have the toffees turned the corner - something to chew on!!

Completely agree about it being unexpected, very hard to predict.

I'm getting Vorm in too I think, frees up funds and he's awesome, don't see any problem with that!

Also Gordon may come back for Sunderland threatening Westwood's position...I'm far from certain on that, but even a tiny bit of rotation doubt for me is enough to just get Vorm instead.

I defiantly would give him this week at least. I think hes the sort of player who will produce more points with more experience in the Prem. I had him a while back and got rid for VDV which isnt bad but id rather have Mata over Nani at the moment.

I'd actually get rid of him. He's a fantastic player, but he's just not cutting it in fantasy terms. A la modric.

You've also got a lot of good options in that bracket (or a little more expensive) in VDV, Silva, and Nani if you're going for fixtures.

I'll give him the next 2 games (WOL and new) then see. He is a bit of assist the assister / do nothing.

VDV and Silva, yes, Nani, no!

Id say VDV and Silva are the only safer bets than Mata at that price. Hes averaging 4.1 points a game, which isnt bad IMO probably not worth of his price tag but Silva used to be an FPL Modric but look at him now. Mata is still new to the Prem and he will become a better FPL option. Its easy to say he'll be another Modric but he actually plays quite deep in central midfield. Mata plays in a similar position to Silva and is always buzzing around the box. Chelsea have obviously had some poor results and performances as well recently but i doubt that will last forever.

Fair enough. When comparing him to Modric, I only meant in terms of the talent/fantasy value comparison, not positional. He is definitely playing in a more advanced position, so he should eventually come good. I'm just not sure he's bedded in yet.

On the plus side, he looks like he's the only one immune to rotation in the chelsea front 3. If you don't have VDV or Silva though, they are the obvious buys.

Lets call a vote! Do we want the old bonus point system back or not? Click here to cast your vote: http://poll.pollcode.com/L63

This is just a quick poll, but if by the end of the season it is clear that the majority wants the old system back, FFS should be able to pursue this further.

Well, it is quite clear, I want the old system back! I've had enough of goalscorers tapping in a goal to both get the points for scoring, aswell as getting away with the baps aswell.

Putting a penalty away isnt a man of the match display -_-

well. in the matches this round 41 out of 48 bonus points were allocated to players scoring/assisting. Leaving 7 points for other players performances. Its just not right. And this week is no different.

You make it sound like no players last year got bonus points when they scored or assisted.

It was easier last year for non scoring/assisting players to get bonus but there was no transparency about how they were awarded.

There was just as much, if not more, moaning last year about bonus on this site than there has been this year. At least this year we know where the points are coming from.

I want a system that ignores goals and possibly assists, players already get points for those.

I want a system that rewards the 'ball winning midfielder', the grafter in the team (Parker, Lucas, etc)

I want this system minus the absurd weighting on goals.

this is what I want too.
in addition: If a midfielder creates a lot of chances but the striker doesnt put the chances away, he certainly wont get any reward for his performance.

Nowadays, its better to get hit by a shot from a teammate, so it deflects of your back and rolls into the net. Then finally, the baps is coming your way.

Kompany > Richards. Yay or nay?

Richards does have Zab competing for RB, but he seems much more likely to assist/score than Kompany.

Kompany has the plus of pretty much being guaranteed and with the fixture congestion upon us, you'd think Zabaleta will get some games.

      Go for it.

So annoyed I got rid of Richards for Kompany after he missed one game, and since then I've gotten rid of Kompany. All round terrible choices.

I'm looking at getting Richards back at some point, probably if/when Jones looks like getting rotated more and when City have slightly better fixtures.

Thinking about this my self.. Have had Kompany all season but I really like the way Richards is allways a threat going forward and getting assists (5 so far) and score goals. And they are almost the same price, Richards is more likely to rise..

So if no injuries happen from CL and there's no Begovic news I'm going to take him out for Vorm, leaving this for GW13:

    Vorm
    ShawX Naylor Jones
    Yaya VDV Walters Hoolahan
    Sturridge RVP Rooney

    Hennessey Tierney Bannan Simpson

    3.4 in the bank

Looking okay? Means I can take out Bannan/Hoolahan for Brunt/Drenthe the following week.

Personally FB, I think sin Silva is a mistake and would be looking at Jones downgrade to turn Yoyo into Silva. You have the same front three as me, and I'm getting cheesed orf with Rooney. Seriously think of switching him to Aguero if Roonster doesn't buck up over the next couple of GWs.

I'm alright with having Rooney there, I just have full confidence(ignorance) that he'll come good soon. If he does nothing in the next few okay, I'll probably get rid, but the rest of my team are performing so it doesn't matter!

Oh and, since I got Yaya:

        Yaya - 9, 6
        Silva - 8, 1

I think I'll hang on to him. Plus getting rid of Jones is silly, we're getting lots of clean sheet points.

Lol I think I disagree with you entirely, but thanks for the opinion all the same!

Looks like you (like many others) are still high on Rooney 😛

Only thing I'd consider for a hit is Tierney > Brown & play him over Naylor.

Yeah I still am high on Rooney, but I got rid at the right time and apparently got him back in too early which I'm still surprised about! He was playing a much more advanced role this weekend so at least there's that!

I like that idea for the hit, but being in that other cup we're both in I don't want to take another hit otherwise I'd lose again 🙁

I want him too, all of his assists this year have been for RVP and RVP isn't going to stop scoring.

That being said, he's got an annoying price points where I can't afford him by getting rid of a 6m midfielder and do I really want to take a risk and get rid of Silva or VDV? Probably not.

I am looking at downgrading Rooney and maybe Bendtner though so will re-think then.

Goose, I had Nas over Silva earlier on and it has cost me massively against mini league rivals. Having him may not earn you rival-beating points, but it prevents you losing out consistently to them.

Hi guys, need some last minute advice for De Laet replacement,

    Vorm, Given (to be Ruddy)
Jones, Shawcross, Simpson, Naylor, De Laet

Who is the best cheapy to replace him? My options are Brown, McAulley and Tierney.

Nicky Butt can't see anything but blue or red for the title says Sky Sports News.

I think most people would agree it's going to be one of City, Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal. Saying red or blue isn't exactly ground breaking 🙂

In 2nd at the moment in my league, the person in first is 14 points ahead.

He still has Modric to play.
I have VDV, Adebayor and Gabby to play.

Do you think I will be on top by the end of the game week?

The downside of saving a transfer is that I've got bugger all to plan for the GW, but agree I should save?

    Vorm Krul
    Brown Kompany Jones Simpson Ward
    Silva VDV Drenthe Walers Dyer
    Suarez RVP Sturridge

    Bank: 3.0

Thinking of keeping Suarez for 1 more week

I'd be tempted to do Suarez out in your position but totally agree with the saving a transfer policy. It's very annoying to have nothing to plan.
