Yes. Like it. We were stupid getting rid of our Spurs assets for a load of rotation risks with nothing discernible left to play for.

With this team, which moves do you think are best to get out 11 for GW35 and do the best for my team going beyond that.

    ...................Darlow
    Simpson - Sakho - Monreal - Gabriel
    .....Sanchez - Cout - Firminho
    ...................Kun

Not playing GW35: Robles, Smalling, Lanzini, Payet, Lukaku & Martial
    1FT & 0.7 ITB

    A) Lukaku & Martial > Defoe & Kane (-4)
    B) Lukaku & Coutinho > Alli & Kane (-4)- will leave me with 10 for gw35
    C) Lukaku & Smalling > Kane & PVA (-4)
    D) Any other ideas?

As you can probably tell I'm definitely looking at getting Kane in and removing Trollkaku. Which of these moves best supports that?

      A

      A or B imo. Not C.

Maybe A since you still have a chance of 11 players but with those 2 Liverpool mids, you're likely to get 10 players + 1 point anyway so B could be an option with higher upside.

      1. thegaffer82
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 9 months ago

Yeah I was thinking similar about B). The only thing that worries me is that I choose to sell Cout and then it's him who starts and not Firminho.

So I guess I'll go A) just to be sure and give myself a bit more time to fully suss out the situation with Pool rotation

Are these transfers worth -12 to have XI next week???

    a) Lukaku >>> Kane
    b) Lovren >>> Azpi
    c) KDB >>> Alli
    d) Emnes >>> Pelle

    1. thegaffer82
      • 14 Years
      9 years, 9 months ago

Not a fan of a -12 at all. Rarely do they come off. I like to limit myself to a -4 if necessary and maybe a -8 in a big DGW.

      a) seems a total no-brainer. b) I wouldn't do as Chelsea (DGW or no) just don't do cleanies anymore. c) could end up being a big downgrade (as much as I rate Alli) and for d) I'd go for Defoe who is in a bit of form and his team all of a sudden are fighting for their lives again

There shouldn't be a rigid rule on how many poibts hits are acceptable or not it all depends on the situation, what's going to ve the most profitable move. In th is case with lovren very likely benched a minus twelve makes perfect sense to get eleven out.

Fair enough. I wasn't imposing any rules on you. Just saying that in my experience -12 never works out. You're relying on too many players to not just play, but do something as well to make the hit pay off. I have a good friend in my mini-league who knows the game well, follows football closely and his team always looks awesome every week. But he regularly takes -12 (or more) hits.

          He's about 200 points behind me 🙂

But if you think it will work on this occasion then go for it

      I would say A and D.
And take a chance with C. Hopefully he starts or get something off the bench which is not impossible.

And agreed with Gaff. Defoe is probably a better call.

    Darlow/Robles

    Smalling/Bellerin/Clichy/Sakho/PVA
    Sanchez/Ozil/Coutinho/Payet/Milner
    Aguero/Mitrovic/Carroll

    1.9mil ITB, 1FT

I need to get rid of Clichy to field 11 (Highly unlikely with all the rife Pool rotation)

    Thinking of Clichy -> Dier
Considering to get rid of one of the pool mids and take a risk with Sakho.
If its Clichy -> Walker, can do Coutinho -> Eriksen (no money ITB)

Any ideas what i should do?
    Ok with pt hit

      • 14 Years

Not much you can do about your Pool players now I'm afraid. I'd stick with them and keep your fingers crossed they all play. I'd concentrate on getting out players who don't have a game in 35 for sure.

I like the looks of Carroll & Clichy > Spurs df & Defoe

Yes. that possible however if im going to bet they all play wouldnt it be sensible to do clichy to Spurs df and field the 11 anyway?
Getting rid of carroll is a possibility, it will increase my numbers to a potential 12 however its likely i would want him back in a wk or 2, which is my dilemma.

        1. thegaffer82
          • 14 Years

My feeling is that you won't want Carroll back. He'll be rotated with Valencia/Emineke and can be very ineffective when faced with CB's who are good in the air.

Also having 12 players for GW35 will give you a nice safety net should one of your Pool players not make it (very likely)

Difference between rest and rotation.....is Klopp a rester or a rotater? What was his track record like at Dortmund, when they were involved in the CL...I know bundasliga doesn't have as much pressure on games as the PL so might be a bad comparison...

    1. thegaffer82
      • 14 Years
      9 years, 9 months ago

Seems like obvious rotation to me. Certain players like Coutinho/Firminho who have come back from injury not too long ago need minutes more than rest........ yet they are alternately sitting out full games. And CB's don't usually need much rest from fatigue..... yet we've seen both Sakho and Lovren sit out matches.

      Annoying as hell 🙁

Yea just read on ESPN player ratings blog that Pelle was tactically subbed as he was cack.

Standard streaky Pelle then! Between him and Defoe for my Martial replacement. Seems like you're set on Defoe. Most ML rivals have Arsenal defence...thinking of staying away from Defoe as it could be a negative differential.

Yeah I'm set on Defoe (after Kane - who is number 1 transfer priority).

If we should have learned anything from 'restgate' last week; it's that we should be focussing on players who will definitely play AND still have everything to fight for in the PL.

        Defoe ticks those boxes nicely

Yep. Have 3 Pool players..... But to be honest even if I didn't then it'd still be Kane.

Kane with 1 less game is still more appealing than Sturridge who might not play every game and his team doesn't really have anything left to fight for in the league

Not a bad option as Ars have decent fixtures until the end and he seems fairly nailed. Crucially as well Ars still have to focus on the league to keep their top 4 spot.

Something about bringing in Wellbeck doesnt sit well with me though, but can't put my finger on it 🙂

Have Kane and Kun at the moment, plus Lukaku who misses next GW. I'm one short and Lukaku is the obvious one to move on, it's either that or trade in someone for Delaney.

With 0.1 in the bank it's an issue.

I'm selling him for sure. More out of anger & dissapointment than anything else.

You are looking fine in the striker department for next week with Kun & Kane so you could look at moving on Delaney for PVA who has DGW and are fighting for their lives

41 points off top 10k. Don't have any Spurs players, so the gap widened from 27 yesterday. Hopefully I have 14 more playing, it's it possible?

Is there any way of knowing how many players the top 10k have left?

      What's your total points?

Just want an idea of how far I am away (I'm on 1957 pts , 28k OR)

Can't help with your question sorry 😉

        I'm at 1948 points.

If you go to the "overall" league, click next and then change the "2" in the URL to "200", you can see how many points the top 10k have.

    Nice.

Had a small drop to 21k, after a Kane haul, cos Alli, Eriksen plus defence all delivered. 🙁

Still, decent green for the week and 13 (inc. Captain) still to come... Let's hope as many as possible play!

Aye. If Aguero has a good game, i could enter the Top 1k i reckon Jossy.

Even with Mignolet, Sakho, Bellerin, Ozil, Lukaku and Martial i've had a great week.

Kun(TC), Alexis, Smalling, Firmino and Alli have racked up 99 points for me!

Good week mate! Especially for one who has kept his WC (in fact, maybe that was an advantage!!)

I'm sat on 95 right now myself. Very happy with that. Need Sanchez to outscore Aguero though (even though I have both)

No Spurs here but that winning 120€ by betting them to win 0-4 softens the blow a bit.

    Which move is better?

    A) Lukaku & Martial ➡ Kane & Defoe

    B) Lukaku & Payet ➡ Kane & Alli

I don't know if i'd wanna sell Lukaku. He's got great fixtures around 37 and a double. Sell Martial instead. And get Alli.

Ouch you're in a mess for next week. Even if your big doubts (Fosu, Mangala, Moreno Nasri & to a lesser extent Iwobi) all play. You're still missing a lot of players.
