The draw for the first round of the Paddy Power Cup has been made and qualifiers can click on this link to find out exactly who they’ll be pitting their wits against. Let’s see if graqfreak can take the scalp of none other than Scout overlord Mark this coming Gameweek.

The deadline for transfers for Round 1 is, of course, this Saturday at 11.30, with the announcement of the results to follow a day or two after the end of the Gameweek.

Makes me laugh all these people recommending dumping Suarez.

1) Fourth on the striker watchlist
2) Fixtures about to improve
3) Liverpool on the up
4) Almost guaranteed to start when fit
5) Cheap , considering his quality and leading line at pool

No doubt replies will come in whining that he hasnt done much. Reality is he has
been very unlucky thus far in premiership, his four goals in south american qualifier attest to that.
Creates multiple chances every game , and due to convert them.

Apart from Walters no mid price mid really performing.. thinkin of goin with a midfield of
Silva Vdv Walters Pilkington Allen
and playing 3-4 every week.. tired of waitin for penalties from sinclair and waiting for something from sessegnon.. the points seem to be in Jones Richards Enrique Baines who offer much more value.. anyone thinking of following suit? those 4 could be extraordinarily high come january and will be impossible to fit in.. the time is now imo

  I'm most probably just gonna stick to my singel trade and put Rooney in my starting line up with Drenthe first sub. Not to phased if he plays or not.
  
  I need another week to see what the situation is with ManC strikers for Norwich. Anything can happen in a week. I'm playing Enrigue so I'm hoping Pool can keep Kun in control.
  
  I also think gw 14 gives me better alternative striker options to Rooney. Especially in the cheapish price range.
  
  So I'm unfort stuck with Roonpig for another week.

        My point is, your getting in Baines longterm with a view to get max points in the gw20 double so you are not planning on dumping him. Neither Ade/Rvp/DVD.
        
        So it's going to be very difficult to get in a ManU attacker for gw 15/18/19, when I think such a player could outscore Baines (Ars/Sun/Wba - all away) by a lot.
        
        Baines is very reliant on a Cs/Peno I think. I might be wrong but I think Bolton will score this week vs Baines.
        
        Just my thoughts.

        i can do baines to brown and ba to hernandez.. but not sure about having hernandez for the christmas period.. rotation up the wazoo.. could leave nearly 4 million in the bank and upgrade walters to nani next week, but i used my wildcard to get rid of my rotation risk players!!

        Just that Manu's 18 and 19 fixtures falls during the hectic christmas period.. never know who'll be rested and who'll start.. dont mind takin a risk on a 6.2 jones.. but a 10 million nani and hernandez being benched could compromise the rest of the team!

        True, all I'm saying is that EVE have 3/4 away during the 18-20gw. I just can't see EVE keeping many CS away from home.
        
        ChoppaToni at 4.8m is cheap if you are looking at def cover for EVE. I've gone for Drenthe in mf.
        
        I'm also not a fan of Chico and will be more interested in Rooney(if he hits form and plays more advanced) or Nani/Young(maybe playing behind striker?). Other option thta you might want to look at(he seems to do well agianst weaker sidess at home) is Anderson. Only 5.9m.

      Sounds like you've got it pretty well planned out.
      
      Of that bunch I'd say Jags shortterm, Enrique longterm. Depends on how confident you are in Everton's defence I guess.
      
      Chris' write-up on premierleaguefantasy.blogspot.com convinced me that Enrique is a season keeper... less likely to be rotated than Jones, and plays for a better defensive side IMO. Plus he saves you a bit of money also.

        Yeah, think I'm swaying towards keeping Woody on the bench 1 more week and getting a decent defender in for GW15. Jags has the best fixtures and a DGW coming up, so tempted to go with him. However, he has ars in GW15, so will probably go with P Jones or Enrique as both their fixtures from GW15 to the Jan wildcard are immense. Will probably get BAE and Jags in for the DGW.
        
        Can only afford Jones if no further price rises/falls go against me, so I may have my hand forced to Enrique....

Just checked.. and by rotatin Brown and Simpson home and away from gw 1 i've got just 39 points.. add that too a midprice mids like sess or sinclair 55 or so and you get 94 points.. with richards and a cheap mid like pilkington or allen you get 54 + 50.. which gives 104.. hmmm

  Take last gw out of the calc and you would have been down(Richards scored 14pts). Also by having Brown/Simpson you would have been able to get more expensive players in other positions.

      Well, that could be because they've had terrible fixtures and are notoriously slow starters. From now on the fixtures pick up and Everton's Christmas programme is the best of all the teams. Another major plus for Jags is that he'll play every minute unless injured and you can't say that about the likes of Richards or Jones.

If you compare him with Bale who is also 8 million
Baines has Cs points, Direct Free kicks, Penalties, not to mention more points for a goal, and higher chance of bonus
Bale has a few if any set pieces.. and is prone to 2 pointers.. I'd prefer Baines over any midpriced mid anyday

  Drenthe has taken some setpieces from Baines. Bale took corners last time I watched. If you think about it Spuds have so many potential goalscorers(Ade/DVD/Defoe/Modric)just waiting for the Bale assists. Who does EVE have?

    not easily.. you gotta rotate with another and there is no guarantee of a clean sheet whatsoever when you play him.. especially this year.. Most ppl have just expected no clean sheets and are happy with 2 pointers at the back(apart from super vorm of course).. seems that's the area to target themm.. apart from silva vdv rvp ade no one really a necessity in attack.. so if you can afford them and have baines richards jones and enrique behind then you could be climbin up the rankings

      i used to think Baines as a mid too (see my history transfer), but that kill me this season.
      i have Raylor (at 4,1M), Enrique (at 5M), and Simpson at 4M. they're all cheap and outscore Kompany, Baines...
