Yaya Toure is passed fit for City’s trip to Real Madrid. Robert Huth and Marouane Fellaini are handed violent conduct charges by the FA, Cesc Fabregas could also face a charge in light of Monday’s tunnel altercation at the Bridge, whilst Emre Can and Santi Cazorla step up their recoveries from injury.

Toure available for Real clash

During his pre-match press conference ahead of City’s clash with Real Madrid this evening, Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that Yaya Toure is fit and available after recovering from a muscle injury. David Silva is still sidelined with a hamstring problem and is joined on the sidelines by Pablo Zabaleta – the latter took to twitter to announce he’s ruled out for around three weeks with a calf complaint.

The Scout Says: It remains to be seen whether Toure will make a first-team return at the Bernabeu, given that he was benched in the last Champions League match he was available for. Instead, Pellegrini could choose to unleash him from the start against Arsenal on Sunday in a match that City need to win to climb above their visitors into third. Despite the numerous changes to Sunday’s team sheet at Southampton, the importance of the Arsenal clash – which is also Pellegrini’s final home league match in charge – suggests that the Etihad side could be back to full strength against the Gunners. Even if they progress past Madrid, the fact that the Champions League final takes place on May 28 would surely quell any need for rotation this weekend, allowing Sergio Aguero and Kevin de Bruyne likely returns to the domestic fold after they warmed the bench from start to finish at St Mary’s. At the back, Zabaleta’s absence looks set to allow Bacary Sagna a domestic return – the Frenchman has failed to start the last six league matches but now looks poised to line up at right-back for the final two clashes against the Gunners and Swansea.

FA charge Huth and Fellaini

The FA have confirmed that Robert Huth and Marouane Fellaini have been retrospectively charged with violent conduct following an incident in Leicester’s draw with United last Sunday. The pair have until 6pm this evening to reply.

The Scout Says: Should they be found guilty, a three-match ban looks on the cards for both players. This would rule Huth out of Leicester’s final two league matches and the summer’s Community Shield, whilst Fellaini would miss United’s final three league matches before being available for the FA Cup final clash against Palace. Clearly, with a single goal to his name all season, Fellaini’s likely absence would have next to no effect on Fantasy teams, though Huth’s potential ban may well persuade those holding Leicester’s defenders to cash in ahead of double Gameweek 37. Furthermore, with the league already won, there’s the chance that Claudio Ranieri could choose to play with the handbrake off once again after months of grinding out the wins, thus reducing the Foxes’ prospects of clean sheets in the final two fixtures.

Fabregas could face FA charge

Reports from yesterday’s local press suggest that Cesc Fabregas could be in hot water for his alleged involvement in the tunnel fracas at the end of Chelsea’s home draw against Tottenham.

The Scout Says: With three double-figure hauls in seven appearances prior to Monday’s match, the Blues’ midfielder had started to convince he was worth a double Gameweek 37 gamble for trips to Sunderland and Liverpool. A possible suspension for the Spaniard could strengthen Eden Hazard’s case for inclusion after he emerged from the bench to notch a late leveler against Mauricio Pochettino’s men. Guus Hiddink could also choose to hand Ruben Loftus-Cheek more minutes in the central support role before the season is out, though after dropping to the bench in the last two, there’s clearly big question marks over the 4.6-priced youngster’s pitch time. Elsewhere in the Blues midfield, though, Willian has bagged a goal and assist in the last two and, at a cost of 7.0, has remained under the radar in recent weeks with just 7% ownership.

Can steps up Reds recovery

Liverpool’s Emre Can is back in training ahead of the midweek Champions League clash with Villarreal. The German had initially been expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season with an ankle injury but could be in contention for Thursday’s evening’s squad.

The Scout Says: With Can sidelined for the last five league matches, Jurgen Klopp has afforded the likes of Kevin Stewart and Joe Allen more pitch time as he juggles his squad to cope with the busy schedule. Should the German prove his fitness, his return merely adds another name to Klopp’s options in the centre of the park and heightens the idea of rest and rotation – particularly if Liverpool progress past the Spanish outfit. Ahead of Liverpool’s double Gameweek 37 home matches with Watford and Chelsea, the result in Europe may ultimately determine their domestic Fantasy prospects from this point onwards. Lose in midweek and the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and James Milner could well benefit if Klopp decides to finish the league strongly. A win, however, is likely to see the current team sheet uncertainty remain, bearing in mind that the Europa League final comes just three days after Liverpool play West Brom in Gameweek 38.

Big Sam hints at tinkering

Ahead of Sunderland’s pair of double Gameweek home matches against Chelsea and Everton, Sam Allardyce admitted he’s likely to make some team sheet alterations to cope with the busy schedule. Bracing himself for a run of three fixtures in eight days, the Black Cats boss went on to say:

“We’ll probably change the side more in these three games than we have done since the turn of the year. The (current side) have played well enough to stay in the team, which causes an under-current of very frustrated players in the squad, The challenge for the frustrated lads is be ready and when you get the chance, grasp it with both hands. If they do that, then they stay in the team”.

The Scout Says: Certainly, with 14 goals to his name it would be a major surprise if Jermain Defoe was amongst those rested to the bench. The 5.3-priced frontman fired eight attempts against Stoke on Saturday and looks far too vital to his side’s prospects of survival to be omitted from the first XI. Looking at Big Sam’s recent substitutions, it seems far more likely than he’ll freshen up on the flanks – Fabio Borini and Wahbi Khazri remain in pole position, though the likes of Duncan Watmore, Dame N’Doye and even Jeremain Lens will all be pushing for inclusion. Allardyce also has a tendency to manage Jan Kirchoff’s minutes – perhaps something to consider for those eyeing up a defence with three clean sheets in five. With regards to the Sunderland backline, then, five-goal Patrick van Aanholt remains the man most likely as the Wearsiders attempt to play their way to safety.

Cazorla handed run out for Gunners reserves

Santi Cazorla stepped up his recovery from a five-month injury lay-off by playing 60 minutes for Arsenal reserves last night. The Spaniard earned an assist in the 2-1 win over Blackburn and was joined by the likes of Tomas Rosicky, Calum Chambers and Serge Gnabry in the starting line-up.

The Scout Says: After returning to the first-team squad as an unused sub in last weekend’s narrow win over Norwich, it seems likely that the importance of this week’s trip to City will ensure Cazorla remains on bench-warming duties as the Gunners look to move six points clear of the Etihad outfit. Whilst Arsenal’s home match against Villa in Gameweek 38 obviously bolsters the armband appeal of Alexis Sanchez, it remains to be seen whether Arsene Wenger will make too many changes to his starting XI on the final day, bearing in mind that the Gunners are currently still in with a shout of overhauling Tottenham in second.

If you're about 50 pts ahead of opponents in ML. Do you sit pretty and avoid hits or try and jump ahead of the curve with lots of hits & DGWers?

Without any player names, which is the best option:

    A) Remove a non-dgw defender for a DGW defender
    B) Remove a DGW midfielder who may/probably will not play both games for a DGW midfielder who will
    C) Remove a DGW striker who is in awful form and was recently dropped for a DGW striker in good form?

Rargh... so many options this week 🙂

Yeah I kind of fancy Lukaku to score vs. Leicester. Don't think they'll really give a f now about defensive solidity tbh.

Gravitating toward Coutinho out now, too. Christ knows who for. Money is no object but I'm not really interested in Hazard (madness?) Very tempted by a punt on Brady.

I'm in the camp of fancying Leicester to keep their form now that the pressure is off, but I can understand why people doubt their defence.. I just hope they're wrong.

I'd love to punt on Brady, no room in my midfield though.

Ha think it's just a punt too far for me I think.

Couple of days to go but I expect I'm going to find myself keeping Coutinho and Lukaku and just shoving Cresswell in for Toby.

Ugh I do want Carroll, but I can just see Lukaku trolling me if I remove him, he's just that sort of world-class troll.

        Robles*
        Bellerin Toby PvA*
        Coutinho* Lanzini* Payet(TC)* Townsend(villa)

Firstly I would play Darlow over Robles more CS potential imo and secondly take Lukaku out for either Defoe or Carroll imo but if you are feeling EXTRA punty bring in a Southampton mid for Coutinho. Must win game this week against a defeated Spurs team and then Crystal Palace at home on the final day, Mane recording breaking hatty 2.0 incoming and it may also be the difference between European football or no European football for them

            - Mane is definitely on my list for GW38 but I don't know about this weekend.

            - So Lukaku is your top choice for removal? Very interesting. I kind of feel like if I remove him he will troll me big time lol

            - Hmm... you might be right with Darlow, will think on that more.

Ha I won't. I captained him early on in the season after his insane run of form. Of course it was his first blank.

Also had him second sub last year when he scored his hattie and didn't get him on - would've won the league if I did play him.

Hmm.. on second thoughts I might just get Tadic.

Be tempted to play Moreno and Bellerin.

We (assuming you're an arsenal fan too!) beat City last year and they may be knackered after the UCL, so it can't be too bad a call to play Hector.

Moreno is more likely to play 2 games than Fosu Mensah.

Don't think Leicester will be keeping the cleanie this weekend

Captaining a sgw player in a Dgw is hanging a noose around your fpl rank. Spurs will be really flat now title gone and Kane always suffers when dembele not playing (likely suspension incoming for him).

they get 40 medals and 19 players played over 5+ games and they have 10 registered staff members.. they have enough medals left to thru at the bench warmers and academy.

I am leading my ML (by 10pts) for the 1st time this season and that too 4GWs away from end of season..
    My team is as follows;

    DDG - Cech
Bellerin - PvA - Rojo - JEvans (Flanagan? Don't ask why!)
    Alexis - Mahrez - Payet - Milner - Townsend
    Kun - Kane - Deeney

    1FT - 0ITB. What should I do?

Ha same sitch as me - slender lead afer clawing a rival back who was formerly out of sight. Good feeling, isn't it? 🙂

You have a decent team so I wouldn't be rushing to take hits. Might be worth taking Kun out for Carroll as a calculated risk, but you ideally want to avoid a hit to ensure you protect that hard-won lead! 🙂

Yep.. He was over 100pts ahead before December after a series of Captain failed for me..

Same situation here 🙂 a series of noobtastic (C) choices meant I had to pull it out on DGWs which luckily I did.

I think that Chelsea were playing up for one, big, high profile game. I don't think it will be sustained now, if I'm honest.

That's what I'm thinking, coming up against fighting Sunderland and a first-team Liverpool not sure Chelsea will get much from either game. But I'm chasing and Hazard can explode - if the last 2 weeks were a double he'd have got 24.

I have 7 DGW players and 1 FT.

Is it worth doing Rose ➡ Cresswell with my FT? Or should I just play Simpson instead and roll 2 FTs for GW38?

        My initial idea was

        Kdb to hazard
        Gabriel to pva
        Welbeck to carrol

        Then gw38 get arsenal players

I'd keep Gabs now - Mert has done his hammy so Gabs will play final games. Might as well ship Otamendi instead.

Your plan is good, though! Just thinking I'd keep Welbz because he scored this week for us and Alli is definitely out , so he'd be my priority for removal over dat guy

        Hi there IM...

Alexis - KdB - Loftus Cheek - Lanzini - Payet

        Defoe - Aguero - Kane

        is my front 8.

Benching Alexis. KdB to Hazard picks itself.

Scouting for potential RLC and Kane replacements. Costa/Studge don't fit the budget, sadly.

I'd keep that frontline (unless you want Carroll).

          Maybe look at something like
          KdB + RLC ->
          Brady/Townsend + Tadic/Mané?

Need more DGW'ers mate. Trailing by 30 in my ML, with rival having 10 DGW'ers this week AND playing his bench boost.

Think I'll have to match him with my 10 DGW'ers at the very least, no?

Surely if you match him you're playing right into his hands?

I'd go for the best SGW players he doesn't have and hope the doubles are a disaster. I'll have 3/4 DGW players and I don't want anymore.

                3/4? 😯

But he doesn't own Payet,Hazard,Defoe or any of the ones I'll be getting.

                The ones he has are:
                *DDG
                *Ruddy
                *Reid
                *Possibly Hazaaa
                *Antonio
                *Lanzini (I have him too)
                *PvA (I have him too)
                *Moreno
                *Studge
                *Firmino

Yup, I'm not convinced Sunderland, Everton, Chelsea, or United players are worth a hit this week.

I'll have Ruddy, Payet(?), Lanzini, Carroll.

Only other ones tempting me are Brady + Hazard.

Would you take any hits to improve this? (No chips left, 1FT already used for Smalling)

    Robles (lei,sun)
    Reid (SWA,MUN) - Smalling (nor,whu) - Azpilicueta (sun,liv)
    Hazard (sun,liv) - Payet (SWA,MUN) - Lanzini (SWAM,MUN) - Sanchez(mci)
Defoe (CHE,EVE) - Aguero (ARS) - Kane (SOT)

    Mignolet(WAT,CHE) - Mahrez(EVE) - Huth(EVE) - Bellerin(mci)

Not sure about Sturridges game time and like someone said above Costa has only taken 1 shot inside the box in the past couple of weeks so I think Hazard should be enough Chelsea coverage

I've won my own local mini league every year for the last 4 years, and now this year for the first time I'm 11 points behind, and both of us have our TC left.

    His team:

    Darlow - Robles*
    Bellerin - Moreno* - Cathcart* - Francis* - Delaney*
    Sanchez - Townsend - Coutinho* - Ozil* - Firmino*
    Kun - Kane - Rashford*

    My Team:

    Darlow - Ruddy*
    Bellerin - Koscielny* - Fuchs* - Simpson* - Rose*
    Sanchez - Townsend - Mahrez* - KdB/Payet* - Lanzini*
    Kun - Kane - Carroll*

Thinking of doing KdB -> Payet and not taking a hit.. Saving my TC for next week but (C) Carroll this week..
What do ye think? OK strategy? Teams different enough for me to overhaul an 11 point gap?

Yup, but should I take a hit and go for it or is that playing into his hands? TC this week on a DGW or next week on a punt?

Go for it with the hit, imo.

I know, it's true. Only saying that as for first time in 4 years I'm not winning my main cash league. The guy leading has had a great season, but more down to how poorly I've done.

Correct Captaincy alone could get you that 11pts back,me specially in a Dgw.

Yep KDB > Payet looks like the right option.
Yes he has a lot of out of form players in his team and a lot of players under a rotation risk so you should just beat him

I reckon do the TC this week on a DGWer, but you're right not to be taking a hit. You could fall too far behind if you don't TC and be banking on Sanchez caring enough in a nothing game vs. Villa to do a lot. I wouldn't be convinced.

You have a fair few differentials so 11 points is easily caught up.

    carroll deeney

    darlow kun simpson gabriel

Leading ML with 12 points. Would really appreciate some tips for this team:

    Robles (Darlow)
Reid - PvA - Rojo (Simpson - Bellerin)
Mahrez - Lanzini - Sanchez - Payet (Ozil)
    Kane - Sturridge - Defoe

    0 FT. 1.3 itb.

Is it g2g? Or should i consider taking some hit?

    Robles v Darlow?

    Play Rojo?

Think Robles just because you get 2 games. As we've seen, pen saves can happen anytime, anywhere

Rojo is sketchy but you've gotta hope.

I reckon you're good - keep an eye on Studge tomorrow night, if he plays the full 90 I'd be worried about him. Otherwise yeah, fine.
