After a dramatic final day for all the wrong reasons, the Fantasy Premier League season has been extended following the disturbing abandonment of the Manchester United and Bournemouth encounter.

It means that the situation at the top remains undecided, although from our calculations of the scheduled autosubs, Dimitri Nicolaou has preserved his lead by just a single point.

A member of the Fantasy Football Scout league, Dimitri went into the final day 18 points ahead of Jamie Fitzpatrick and 24 in front of Jack Manners.

While Jamie has fallen away with a disappointing tally of 26, Jack has dramatically closed the gap via his captaincy of Sadio Mane and has collected 57 points after autosubs, with Charlie Daniels yet to play.

It could have been even better: had both Ross Barkley or Aaron Lennon remained on the Everton bench, Jack would have collected an additional seven points from his third benched player, Michail Antonio.

Dimitri has mustered 34 points after autosubs having taken a 4-point hit; he elected instead to play his All-Out-Attack chip which was duly nullified by Philippe Coutinho’s no-show.

It appears that Dimitri remains a point ahead of Jack but with both Chris Smalling and Marcus Rashford left to play in the re-arranged fixture, now confirmed for Tuesday May 17.

Ed Masters, a regular poster under the guise of β€œMo Mane Mo Problems” and a full Fantasy Football Scout member, has climbed to third spot at this point.

Ed also captained Mane and produced a superb final day tally of 57 points following a hit; we make it that he’s eight points behind Dimitri with David de Gea still to play.

With the United and Bournemouth fixture to follow, there are still multiple scenarios that could see the top spots shuffle once again.

Louis van Gaal will surely consider playing a weakened lineup against the Cherries given that Manchester City have now sealed fourth spot and with the weekend FA Cup Final in mind.

David de Gea could be the only assured starter as he looks to claim the clean sheet which would see him contest the Golden Glove award with Arsenal’s Petr Cech.

Dimitri, Jack and Ed are currently left waiting on the outcome of Tuesday evening to see how it will fall. Until then, the FPL title remains in limbo.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Pacey strikers tend to do well with the lower clubs in the Premier League (counter-attacking?). Seems a similar sort of player to Wilson, who was fantastic when fit.

Season may not be over yet but it's safe to presume i'll finish in top 1k again, so just want to say few things...

This is my 9th season playing FPL, and until i discovered this site i was definition of a "casual"... For 7 seasons i managed to finish in top 300k just 2 times, and never crossed 2k points mark... All of that changed when i found this site and decided to play seriously... Last 2 seasons with your help i managed to win my country league both times and all of my money leagues too (i even entered top 10 once last season)... I haven't watched more than 10 PL games for last 2 years nor the MOTM, almost all of information related to PL i collected here, so you can see how much this site is informative and helpful...

Having said that, i just want to add one big THANKS to owners, mods and community, for making this place so great...

P.S. Next season i'm definitely becoming full member, just to pay my gratitude to you all...

So just so I understand, while United have clinched a EL place, two things are still left to be decided in Tuesday match and the Cup final

    1) United clinch 5th and a berth in EL group stage with a draw or wIn. A loss means Southampton will start EL at the group stage and United enter at the last qualifying stage.
    2) Should United win the FA Cup, West Ham get a EL spot. If Palace win, they get the spot.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So, let me tell you about my lovely day,

I was JOINT THIRD in my ML with my rival and was just concentrating on securing third place over him..
The dude in second place was a 30 points clear of both of us...about 7 of the same players so not really much room for error, looked like a mammoth task to beat him. He knows what he's doing too and is a regular on here.

Anyway, I bring in "GRU & MANE" for two liv players - at about half past one this afternoon!
I then wallop my rival - who I was level on points with - to smithereens, and end up actually overtaking my second placed rival too!!!! (albeit after my bench points).

    ---------------------------------

So as it stands I am currently 2 points clear and have DDG to play,
    Rival has Fosu-Mensah.

How did Sanchez not register an attacking point after watching those highlights. Cost me my league

      You're Polish aren't you?

Do you watch Polish football by any chance?

I've even had a chance to watch him live twice when Cracovia (his current club) came to play in my town. He looks sooo calm with the ball and has good technique. He's still very young and needs to spend more time on the gym, though. But the fact that he's a strong candidate to go to the Euros and scored on his international debut says quite a lot. πŸ™‚ He is a bright talent, one of the biggest here in Poland, without doubt.

Who is interested in him, btw?

Interesting. Was worth asking as you're a Pole. πŸ™‚ Cheers.

I'm not really aware of any interested clubs. I was interested as I know of him but unsurprisingly have never seen him.

Happy that Man City got fourth, want to see how Pep gets on in CL and lessens the chances of LVG sticking around. Will miss him for comedy value though πŸ™‚

Guardiola can try and prove his rep isn't down to having a fantastic squad with the dominant team in the league. Keep Hart, Kompany, DeBruyne, Silva, Kun and Ichenacho, the rest need a massive kick in the arse.
