Dugout Discussion

While the footballing community rightly reels from the frankly unfathomable and tragic news of Gary Speed’s passing, the Dugout Discussion opens in more solemn tones in shock at this news…

Our first of two fixtures today is in Wales where, rather perversely now, Speed had been seeming to build a bright future for football in his home country. Whether many of the Welsh players (on both sides) are in the right mind is hard to tell but the fixture of Swansea vs Aston Villa will go ahead as planned. Teams in full are…

Swansea XI: Vorm; Rangel, Monk, Williams, Taylor; Britton, Allen, Gower, Dyer, Sinclair; Graham

Villa XI: Given; Hutton, Collins, Dunne, Warnock; Herd, Delph; N’Zogbia, Heskey, Agbonlahor; Bent.

The Premier League weekend will then finish with the big fixture of the weekend as Kenny Dalglish’s Moneyball squad come up against the Nouveau riches of Manchester City.

RIP Gary Speed.

Just came on here, trying to find some news about Rangel. Anyone know how serious the injury is? He was my 1 free transfer in this week.

What exactly does charged at "standard operator rate" mean in regards to texting? I get unlimited texts, but surely i can't text any number for free?

If there was a text in on TV that cost £5 + standard operator rate then you would only get charged £5 if you have unlimited texts.

To get involved use Twitter (via hashtag #BBCFootball ) or text us via 81111 with FOOTBALL before your message. (Not all contributions can be used. Messages will be charged at your standard operator rate.)

        So all texts are free?

Maybe. Too big a risk even at only £7m. Money is tight and coming up to xmas I'm looking to get guaranteed starters in the team.

On that note, is Santos out once Gibbs is fit?

I think so. Gibbs is never fit for long though. None of my midfielders seem to score big, annoying as i've spent most of my budget on them!

May have to re-think Santos too then.

Was going to look at Jones to Baines and then maybe sell Santos for someone cheap as I have Walker and Enrique at the moment too

If I make no transfers my team lineup next GW will be:
    Vorm
    Enrique, Richards, Brown
    VDV(VC), Silva, Drenthe, Walters
    RVP(C), Sturridge, Adebayor
    Subs: Ruddy, Sinclair, S.Taylor, Wilkinson

I am considering the following (I have 3.9M in the bank):
    1. Save my transfer
    2. Sturridge to Ba
    3. Wilkinson to Baines, Jagielka, Johnson, Vermaelen or Rangel/Naylor
    4. Drenthe to Bale
    5. ? (any better transfers I should make)
