There’s just over 24 hours left until the Euro 2016 quarter-finals get underway, with DraftKings managers afforded a pair of fixtures over Thursday and Friday to assemble their eight-man squads from.

As we revealed yesterday, if you’ve yet to register, DraftKings are offering the opportunity of free entry to an upcoming contest for the quarter-finals over Thursday and Friday’s matches.

Providing you sign up via this link before 4pm on Thursday, your account will be credited with $3 by 6pm that day. Players should then use the credit amount to enter the “EUROS $13k Striker” contest on Thursday.

The first match of the quarter-finals sees Poland and Portugal go head-to-head for a place in the last four at 8pm tomorrow evening.

Both sides required extra-time to advance past the Round of 16, with Poland defeating Switzerland on spot-kicks, whilst the Portuguese progressed thanks to Ricardo Quaresma’s late winner over Croatia.

Fernando Santos’ side are the slight favourites for this one. Portugal sit fourth for attempts on goal over the tournament so far and have fired almost double the number of shots on target (23 to 12) than their opponents. At the back, it’s a similar story, with Poland conceding 33 efforts inside the penalty box to Portugal’s 20.

Wales take on Belgium in Friday evening’s 8pm encounter.

Marc Wilmots’ men are heavily favoured to advance to the semi-finals after sweeping aside Hungary 4-0 in the previous round. Certainly, the underlying stats underline the Red Devils’ attacking potential – they have registered more goals and shots on target than any side so far.

Wales, however, are second only to their opponents for goals (seven to eight) and, after squeezing past Northern Ireland, boast the highest shot accuracy (51.1%) in the tournament. In defence, Chris Coleman’s side have conceded less attempts inside the box that the Belgians and have the form to make a mockery of their underdog tag.

Fortunately, DraftKings allows us to scan the teamsheets before each fixture, adjusting your line-ups in search of some last-minute bargains.

Here’s our selection of DraftKings targets to help guide your picks ahead of Saturday’s contests.

Gareth Bale – Wales – $10200
Joint-top scorer for the tournament so far, the Wales talisman also leads the way when it comes to efforts on target – a total of 13 is five more than any player after four rounds of fixtures. As evidenced by his crucial assist in the 1-0 win over Northern Ireland, Bale will be vital to Wales’ progress and we can expect him to pose Thibaut Courtois plenty of problems as Chris Coleman’s men look to cement a place in the semi-finals.

Eden Hazard – Belgium – $8500
The Belgium wide man finally sparked into life last time out with a goal and assist in the 4-0 demolition of Hungary. More budget-friendly than team-mate Kevin de Bruyne ($9700), Hazard registered three shots and four key passes against the Magyars and, after a slow start to Euro 2016, looks to be building momentum for the last eight. It’s worth noting that Hazard is a slight doubt for the match after picking up a thigh problem.

Jakub Blaszczykowski – Poland – $6100
Restored to the starting XI for the win over Switzerland, the Poland winger grabbed the opener to take his tally to two strikes and an assist for the tournament – essentially, he’s played a part in all his nation’s goals so far. Given that he sits second for crosses and is top for successful tackles amongst Adam Nawalka’s squad, Blaszczykowski looks an excellent all-round option for our eight-man DraftKings squads.

Raphael Guerreiro – Portugal – $4900
The defender offers a reliable route into the Portugal rearguard at a time where uncertainty surrounds the right-back berth. Despite missing the final group match, Guerreiro still leads the way when it comes to successful tackles for Fernando Santos’ side and his raids down the flank have delivered 16 crosses – third highest in the squad. Having also supplied six key passes, his creativity could be vital to his nation’s prospects of progressing. Guerreiro picked up a minor muscle problem during the extra-time win over Croatia but has since returned to training earlier today, according to reports.

DraftKings contests for Thursday and Friday’s matches are now available, including the above-mentioned $3 entry “Striker” with a $13k prize pot. Those yet to register should check out this link to take advantage of the free entry offer.

DraftKings is available only to those aged 18 or over. Be sure to take note of their Terms and Conditions here.

    What are your thoughts on these?

    A) Rui Patricio & Lukaku
    or
    B) 4m rated keeper who won't play (but I already have Courtois) & Griezmann

    Cheers

    2. JΔ™drzejczyk
    3. Rui Patricio

    ?

    Im currently on Milik as differential and i think Poland will win tonight

      if you think Poland will win then that rules out 3 unless you are expecting a 0-0 and penalties! Based on the other 2 I would say Milik.

    Morning all, any tips/ suggestions…I could use 4 FT to get this:

    Hennessey Neuer
    Hector Meunier Jedrzejcyk Sagna* Giaccherini*
    Blaszcykowski Ozil Hazard Payet Draxler*
    Giroud Pelle* Lukaku

    *indicates players transferred in.

    My risk here is no Ronaldo – in fact no Portugal at all…is this too risky?

    Alternatives are Jao Mario instead of Draxler to cover Portugal or I could have Griezmann instead of Pelle….for the fun of it.

    2.2 ITB (if no Griezmann)

    Or use WC to get:

    Lloris Patricio
    Hector Meunier Vertonghen Giaccherini Jedzrejcyk
    De Bruyne Hazard Ramsey Draxler Sanches
    Pelle Griezmann Ronaldo

    To wildcard or not…thoughts?

    Considering I already have Payet, Giroud, KDB, Meunier and Henessey as second keeper.

    A) Patricio, Renato Sanches, Hazard, Sagna

    B) Lloris, Pogba, Nanggolian, Guirriero/Fonte

    Currently on B should I do A if Renato Sanches starts ?

        Hard to say. A thigh injury does not seem that bad tbh, but the chances are he still miss it. If he plays he missed 2 days of trainings and could disappoint and the likelyhood of a early sub is higher.

        I do not know if i'm bringning him anymore since i have KdB.

        What about you?

          The main reason I WC was to get Hazzard, my gut is he plays. I'm going with him regardless. Team more/less locked as I'm out of range very soon.
          Good luck regardless MG.

          But if you activated WC you can still make subs?

          For me, personally, would be good if the doesnet play because my nemesis in ML got him as CAP and would probably not sub him regardlessly. πŸ˜‰

          But we just have to stay updated during the day, because if he gets the green light ill bring him on.

      7/15 for me.

      Too many Welshies for my liking and that Renato Sanches doesn't start.

      You've spread the risk around but I feel it is to your advantage to focus on the teams most likely to progress if you want to climb the rankings.

      I'd go Poland/Belgies/Frenchies with the odd Italian defender and Kroos with Hector to cover the Germans.

        Funnily enough I had Kroos and 4 French players including Griezmaan over Bale in my first draft. I decided though if multiple upsets occur my squad will be barebones next round. With this team I will get a minimum of 11 players. You never know if Iceland and Wales can win.

    Probably template but this is the first proper draft of my WC. What do you think?

    Courtois - Patricio
    Sagna - JΔ™drzejczyk - Meunier - Guerreiro - Hector
    KDB - Draxler - Parolo - Payet - Hazard
    Ronaldo - Gomez - Greizman

    Should leave me with a decent captain option every day

          I quietly fancy them so I'm bias here tho I have Hector/Draxler/Gia but that defence has put me off Gomez and I'm going with Griezeman/Gru/CR7 up top, tho debating Lukaku in for Gru?

            Thanks. I think Giroud & Greizman may be to much but Lukaku.......not for me I think.

          6/15.

          Given it's likely to be a tight affair I'd be asking if it is necessary to have Ronaldo given POR's lack of goals and he is up against a very decent defence.

          You could get a much better team out too.

    I would appreciate some suggestions on my current team (0.5 ITB):

    Hennessey (Hart*)
    Hector--Jedrzejczyk--Meunier--(Rami*--Dier*)
    KDB--Kroos--Payet--Ramsey--(Perisic*)
    Muller--Giroud--Bale

    Obviously, I should get rid of *s - Hart, Dier, Perisic (but would want to leave Rami in the team). WC wasted already.

    My thoughts are bringing Lloris for Hart - and that's it, I am unsure who to get for the eliminated Dier and Perisic and who should I change from my playing players. :/

      Perisic -> Kuba

          Thanks for all that comments - I think I set a plan A (when the line-ups for today's game are revealed):

          Hart --> Lloris
          Dier --> R.Guerreiro
          Perisic --> Grosicki

    I have my WC intact, but thinking of keeping it for semis or even final, so have come up with this:

    Hennessey – Neuer
    Giaccherini* – Rami – Sagna* – Meunier – Guerrero
    Kroos – Hazard – Ramsey – Payet – ???*
    Ronaldo – Bale – Giroud*

    Dier --> Giaccherini
    Schar --> Sagna
    Perisic --> ???
    Milik --> Giroud

    Any thoughts, in particular who should come in for Perisic, or should I just ditch the lot and WC now?! Thanks!

        Got a backup team. Luckily we'll know the Portugal lineup in advance. Taking the chance with Hazard πŸ™‚

    I believe wilmots has a presser today and will speak about hazard. That's correct?

        If Iceland win, won't your team greatly suffer?

          Got to gamble on some teams winning πŸ™‚

          If you spread your squad across all the teams equally you're guaranteed to be short of players in the next round.

    Hennessey, de Gea*
    Howedes*, Rami*, Giaccherini, Meunier, Jedzejczyk
    Hazard, de Bruyne, Payet, Ozil, Renato Sanchez
    Milik, Bale, Ronaldo

    0.1 million remaining, 1 transfer remaining.

    I'm in for an iPad if I win my league, currently 3 points clear. Help!?

        Doing ok, had a disastrous week in the final group matches but decent in the other rounds. Topping the mods/cons league which is what matters πŸ™‚

          Nice one πŸ˜€
          No I'm not playing. I tried unsuccesfully to submit a team a few times and gave up in the end. Besides, I'm a tad busy with things at the moment so wouldn't be able to put any time into it. I've only watched a handful of games tbh.

            I've put relatively little time/effort into it - treating it as a bit of light relief rather than anguishing over decisions like I do in FPL πŸ™‚ Hope all is well

    Courtois, Lloris

    Gia, Meunier, Sagna, Sciglio, Guerreiro

    Hazard, KDB, Renato, Payet, Parolo

    Ronaldo, Griezmann, Lukaku

    Changed it up a little, thoughts?

    Went from Patrico, Vertonghen and Draxler to Courtois, Sciglio and Parolo.
