Next up in our series of members’ articles reviewing the numbers behind the 2015/16 campaign we put Crystal Palace under analysis.

We start by assessing their team data, comparing the Eagles to the rest of the top-flight, before focusing on their first-team squad and assessing the main goal threats and creative sources, in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for 2016/17.

Having started the campaign with five wins in their first eight fixtures, Alan Pardew’s side looked like improving upon their tenth-placed finish in 2014/15 but Palace struggled to maintain momentum and won only six more matches in the remaining 30 Gameweeks, ending up just five points clear of the bottom three.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

7 goals in his last 10 PL games. Had a huge dry spell before that but he didn't like the Saints system and had falling outs with the manager

    Bottomed!

Ahead of the launch, I have extended my strikers' sheet further to provide rankings just like the midfielders sheet.

    Sheet 1: Midfielders
    - Compares midfielders combined goals + assists since 2013/14 across all leagues. Minimum 10 appearances, set pieces included.
    - Non PL Average, PL Average and 15/16 Average provided in the purple columns.
    - Non PL Ranking, PL Ranking and 15/16 Ranking provided in the blue columns.
    - New PL additions such as Mkhitaryan and Fischer have been added.

    Sheet 2: Strikers
    - Compares non-penalty goals + assists throughout a players' career as well as the 2015/2016 season separately.
    - Numbers (in minutes) are descending - from best to least best.

    - Compares strikers combined goals + assists since 2013/14 across all leagues. Minimum 10 appearances, set pieces included.
    - Non PL Average, PL Average and 15/16 Average provided in the purple columns.
    - Non PL Ranking, PL Ranking and 15/16 Ranking provided in the blue columns.
    - New PL additions such as Ibrahimovic and Michy have been added.

Please leave any player suggestions in the PL. I'll update the sheets if and when more players are signed.

Heavy feeling that Mane will be this years Sterling of last year.

why? He is just hitting his prime, has been very good for Saints, he did hit a big patch of inconsistency but I think that was due to personal issues, falling out with the manager and the fact he didn't like the system. Once he scored he went on a hot streak and I think if Klopp can get the best out of him he will be very good. The guy has serious pace and strength, and know where the net is.

Agreed. Sterling is just a skinny kid who can run fast...and being English his price tag was always gonna be blown out of proportion

This is true, although slightly less competition for places and no euro rotation, I think he'll be better but I do think if he's pricey, he'll be in and out of alot of drafts

Based on Fantasy iTeam budget, I would go with this all season

          Adrian
          Brunt Ayala Bailly
          Diame Hazard De Bruyne. Mkhitaryan
          Ibrahimovic Kane. Aguero

Funnily enough mine is very close! Something along the lines of...

            Foster
            Smalling Ayala Williams
            Hazard Mhki Tadic
            Mata (everton)
            Kane Aguero(C)

      I'll need prices but....

      My favourite £4.5m GK & His back-up.
Bellerín, Bailly/Baines/Dier(I really hope Baines drops to £5.5m), My favourite £4.5m DEF, 2x £4.0m fodder.
de Bruyne, Tadic, Sigurdsson, Mané, Fodder.
      Kun, Kane, Wilson.

Well, injury prone-ness is always an issue, however I think he's the most likely to get 15+ goals from the sort of players in his price bracket.

It's all about the numbers at the end, someone like Tadic will end up with numbers not that far off Ozil, in all honesty. But Aguero will end up with 10 more goals than someone in the bracket below him, Value over replacement player is a thing in long-term fantasy draft.

Completely agree. I'm in a draft league so not only have to keep my 15 all season but I'm 6th in a 10-man draft, meaning ill be lucky to even get 1 of Aguero, Haz, KDB, Kane.
I'm hoping to get Mhki 2nd pick and hoping Wilson will still be available come 5th or 6th pick.
Picking my defence last so they'll all be rubbish but ill make sure they rotate well. Good tactics?

Yeah, defence should be the last of your worries.

You have to start 3 max, so that should be 30 defenders drafted.

You should be *guarenteed* 3 defenders from the top 8 teams, no?

Very true didn't think of that but I'd rather make sure they are all absolutely nailed. So thinking take defenders well under the radar but are nailed and can rotate with each other.
                E.g. Ayala/C.Davies or Cook/Nyom
I'd rather those guys than take Mertesacker and he gets dropped for paulista after a couple of months

I have contemplated this. What tactic do you think is better, double up on solid defence or find a rotation pair where they will avoid playing top 6 teams all season?

I'm also thinking my 5th midfielder will actually play alot of weeks for me cos of inevitable injuries etc to one of my front 7.
But 5th mid will be picked so far down the draft it'll be someone like Noble or Diame. Any advice on a very under the radar good midfielder?

Janssen sounds like a good signing for spurs, 27 goals in first season in Holland is pretty good. The premier league is obviously a big step up for him but from what I've seen the guy can finish really well.

Anyone able to give me an answer for this?

If I make a team and get ID 100 (just an example) then I delete my acount a few weeks later, would there be no team for ID 100 or would the next person who happened to sign up after i deleted my account take ID 100?

I don't need to know the answer for any reason, never played FPL competitive before and I've no idea why people want low IDs.

It's not about how small your ID is, it's about what you do with it.

I will take a lot. I went to a cracking cheese shop in St Andrews once and chose a random selection.

An interesting one was a wine soaked cheese! It became a bit sickly after a while but it was nice

In cardboard? Like a actual garlic clove? Is the skin still on it?

If it's still inside skin and isn't too soft or shoots growing out I'd give it a go tbh.

No problem. You see these little pictures we all have next to our name.

They are called Gravatars along with your username they help people recognise you and in turn gets you more responses to your comments as people are more likely to remember you.

It is easy to do and a full explanation is in the FAQ's on this site

But basically you go to gravatar.com set up an account with the email you use for this site and set a picture up. Just make sure you set the rating for PG or we cannot see it.

Really easy and it will benefit you in the long run

          Hope this helps

Nice playlist Cheese, great to see Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds near the top, you heard a song by him called 'Bring it On'? Think it's off his Nocturna Album.

Also, a fan of Bob Dylan at all? I have that much of him his stuff covers 6 massive scrolls of the mouse in my iTunes haha! You could say i like Mr Dylan 🙂

Yes I have I really like Nick Cave. The playlist is in no particular order. If you like that you can check out the other playlists on Youtube. Bob Dylan does make a couple of appearances although I wouldn't describe myself as a huge fan.

Haha Nick Cave is awesome isn't he, Nature Boy and Red Right Hand will always be favourites.
Yeah i'll give the a look man cheers 🙂
I'm less a fan than i used to be of Dylan, but will always remain one of my all time idols haha.

A talking 8-inch shiet with one leg would be more believable than anything the Sun conjures up

Bacca's a great 'traditional' striker if you will, great positioning & fight in him. Just has a horrible left foot (makes rabonas) & is pretty poor with his link up play in general.

Ben Yedder's been one of Ligue 1's top forwards for a while now, surprised no good club has targeted him. Four 14+ goals seasons in a row, he's at a great age too.

If this is true, Bacca is straight into my team.
