Next up in our series of members’ articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, are champions Leicester City.

After earning a mere 19 points in their first 29 matches of 2014/15, Leicester looked set for a return to the Championship before a stunning reversal of fortunes under Nigel Pearson, helped by a switch to 3-5-2, saw them win seven and draw one of their final nine fixtures to finish six points clear of the drop.
The arrival of Claudio Ranieri last summer transformed the King Power club and ushered in their first ever Premier League title. Reverting back to a four-man defence, the Italian’s counter-attacking approach, allied with the pace and trickery of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, tore top-flight backlines apart as Leicester lost just three matches all season and finished ten points clear of second-placed Arsenal.
