We continue our series of members’ articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, with a look at Southampton.

To get underway, we assess the Saints’ team statistics in Ronald Koeman’s final year in charge and compare them to the rest of Premier League, before analysing their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for the upcoming campaign.

The Saints finished in sixth position after embarking on a superb run of form that harvested seven wins and a draw in the final nine league fixtures.

      It's a wait and see. When Sanchez is fit and firing I'm sure there will be lots of KDB > Sanchez transfers.

      Sanchez, Ozil, Ramsey, Giroud, Koscielny could all miss the start.

      Not sure who will play between Gabriel and Mertz, Bellerin is too expensive, and Monreal is expensive with little attacking threat.

            Fair enough, but my point is rather that this many key players missing the start makes the whole team a non-option imo.

      Exactly that. Almost the whole first team played the knockouts in Euro/Copa. Going to have rough first few weeks, not exactly easy fixtures either before GW5.
