The EA Sports Player Performance Index numbers are out, with the Fantasy Premier League applying them to the game to add the gameweek 14 bonus points. Here’s a match-by-match breakdown of how they map out….

Blackburn 4 Swansea 2
Bonus – Yakubu 3, Samba 2, Givet & Vukcevic 1

It’s no surprise to find four-goal Yakubu leading the way in the PPI stakes from this game. Indeed, the Nigerian recorded the top overall PPI score of the gameweek, with a huge return of 73. Assists and defensive statistics saw both Chris Samba and Gael Givet record big PPI totals, with Simon Vukcevic’s two assist contribution from the bench enough to see him share a single bonus point with Givet. Scott Dann and Jason Lowe were just outside the bonus reckoning as the Blackburn defence racked up some decent numbers in the 4-2 win.

Wigan 0 Arsenal 4
Bonus – Van Persie 3, Arteta 2, Vermaelen 1

Robin Van Persie once again seals the maximum bonus thanks to a goal and a pair of assists in the 4-0 win at Wigan. Once more he’s joined by Mikel Arteta and Thomas Vermaelen, who seem regular recipients of bonus in recent weeks. Arteta sneaks ahead of the Belgian by 3 PPI points to claim the 2 bonus here. Gervinho missed out on a share of the single bonus by just one PPI point.

Newcastle 0 Chelsea 3
Bonus – Terry 3, Sturridge 2, Kalou 1

A clean sheet and an array of impressive defensive statistics were enough to see John Terry claim the top PPI score from Chelsea’s 3-0 win. He topped Daniel Sturridge by a clear 10 points, the striker’s efforts off target perhaps contributing to the margin. Salomon Kalou’s goal from the bench saw him nudge past Ramires by a single PPI point to claim the remaining bonus.

Man City 5 Norwich 1
Bonus – Yaya Toure 3, Silva 2, Nasri 1

The PPI rankings looked hard to predict in this game, and so it proved. Yaya Toure’s goal and midfield efforts were enough to have him claim the maximum here, but bonus for David Silva and Samir Nasri both looked unlikely. Nasri edged out fellow goalscorers Adam Johnson and Sergio Aguero to claim the single bonus point, while Silva’s assist and attacking efforts were enough to see him earn the two.

Spurs 3 Bolton 0
Bonus – Defoe 3, Bale 2, Lennon 1

Tottenham’s three goalscorers hogged the top PPI ranks here, with Defoe claiming top spot and the maximum FPL bonus. Gareth Bale trailed by just 4 PPI, while Lennon recorded 11 PPI less than the Welshman but still held off the claims of Luka Modric and Kyle Walker to claim the remaining bonus point.

QPR 1 West Brom 1
Bonus – Long 3, Barton 2, Gabbidon & Young 1

Shane Long’s equaliser helped him to a PPI score of 30, nudging him ahead of QPR’s Joey Barton to fetch the maximum bonus in the Loftus Road stalemate. Those two were streets ahead of the pack, with Daniel Gabbidon and Luke Young sharing a single bonus back on 13 PPI.

Aston Villa 0 Man United 1
Bonus – Jones 3, Nani 2, Vidic & Smalling 1

The deciding goal from Phil Jones, coupled with a clean sheet, unsurprisingly saw him earn the 3 bonus points from United’s win at Villa Park. Nani’s assist and attacking threat fetched him a PPI score of 29, with defenders Chris Smalling and Nemanja Vidic sharing a return of 20 to split the remaining bonus point.

Wolves 2 Sunderland 1
Bonus – Fletcher 3, Jarvis 2, Richardson 1

Steven Fletcher’s brace turned this game on its head and saw him claim an impressive 55 point PPI return. Matt Jarvis’ assist allowed him to edge ahead of the pack with a PPI of 22 to earn the 2 bonus, with Black Cats’ goalscorer Kieran Richardson fetching the final bonus with a PPI of 21.

Everton 0 Stoke 1
Bonus – Huth 3, Shawcross 2, Crouch, Whelan & Etherington 1

Goalscorer Robert Huth registered a PPI score of 40 to easily claim the maximum FPL bonus from Stoke’s 1-0 win at Goodison. Fellow centre-back Ryan Shawcross put in a strong defensive showing to push himself ahead of a chasing pack; his PPI score of 19 was just enough for him to earn the 2 bonus, with Peter Crouch, Matt Etherington and Glenn Whelan all sharing the remaining bonus point with PPI scores of 17.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thoughts on Smalling guys? Think he might be a good pick as someone to play every week through United's good fixtures who can just be autosubbed if he doesn't play.

If you can afford the extra for Jones then I'd definitely do that transfer.

I got rid of Jones last week to free up the cash for Ade and am regretting it now believe me.

Smalling is a great player but could concievably only play 1 or 2 out of every 3 games which isnt good enough for a 5mil+ player for me. If he was 4.0-4.5 then fair enough, but he isnt.

Here's a question. If you'd never played the game before this year would you still be attached to having VDV in your team like we are? Are we blinded by his awesome run last year?

      And awesome run this year?
At the end of the day he plays OOP, takes set-plays and penalties.
His main downfall is injury proneness - when he plays he's gold.

Too early to tell just yet, but possibly. Im wondering if Redknapp might be lining him up for playing in the harder/bigger games. This may mean stoke away next up and then Chelsea at home after missing Sunderland at home. But who knows. He certainly won t be happy coming on as a 10 - 20min sub all the time

Definitely agree re last years points. I played last season having missed the previous year, and think it definitely helped me in hindsight (top 5k finish).

Already this season: avoided Bale because I thought he was overpriced as a mid rather than a def; too much faith in Stoke, City and Sunderland defences; too much faith in Baines.

If I had't been blinded by last season I'd have probably wildcarded in GW4 rather than waiting for last years performers to 'come good'.

they've just played man utd, man city and chelsea. wouldn't get carried away after those three games, just as i wouldn't get carried away until they had played those three sides.
another point is ba dominates their attacking points to such an extent that even in a struggling side he could just be like n'zogbia last season and when they do score he's usually involved. 19 goals this season and ba has scored or assisted 12 of them

    got 2 free transfers
    Vorm Krul
    BAINES Jones Richards Enrique McAuley
    Silva Bale Walters Sessegnon Pilkington
    Adebayor Rvp Sturridge
    0.1
I wanna get rid of baines.. no 2 ways about it.. got 2 free transfers.. so i have 2 options
A)get rid for Vidic/Vermaelen for a 1 week punt.. will still have 2 freebies next week so can downgrade Vidic/Vermaelen to Gabbidon and upgrade Sessegnon to Mata next week.. unless i end up likin Vermaelen and keepin him
B)play safe and get rid of Baines for Gabbidon this week(and start McAuley home to wigan).. then next week get Mata and Ohara for Sessegnon and Pilkington.. 2 frees

United seem to be winning all their games 1 nil, so dosent look like there will be any big returns for any united player

Planning my 2 free transfers for the coming week, can I have your thoughts please.

    Current Team is:

    Given, (Vorm)
Jose Enrique, Simpson, Brown, Wilkinson, Taylor (Swansea),
    Silva, Nani, Bale, Dyer, (Tiote)
    Rooney, RVP, Aguero
    £2.0 million in the bank.

Thinking of doing Aguero > Ba

Which will allow another big hitter in midfield. But who to go for?

    a) Mata
    b) VDV
    c) Young
    d) Barton and spend the cash on Vermaelen & P. Jones?

Think I'd keep Aguero to be honest. Your midfield is decent.
Would look at improving defence, alot of us (including myself) went for Wilkinson, think it could be time to move him out. Alternatively you could move Brown out and then have enough to buy Phil Jones

Also if you decide to get in a midfielder by selling Aguero, I think Nani would be the best option at the moment.

Aguero>Ba seems a good transfer and will be one I'm doing myself. Then I'll be going Eagles to Nani.

My 4point hit didn't work out last weekend.

Got Jagielka in for Wilko, as price was going to rise.

Then played Jag and benched Shawcross (not to mention Krul also).

Was a long term move on Jags though and suppose to Jags didn't play.

The other option had been to keep Wilco and upgrade Shawx to Jones.............

    Hi All,

Help on this decision would be appreciated, I just cannot decide.

I feel that Ageuro is not getting the points a player of his price should.

I am contemplating about the following subs:

    Aguero--->Sturridge

This would give me the funds to do:

    Barnett (Norwich)--->Vermalen

I would move from 3:4:3 to 4:3:3 with the option to put drenthe on.

    Current team

    Vorm (Given)
    Jones, Richards, Enrique (Simpson, Barnett)
    Silva, Bale, Ramsey, Drenthe (Simpson)
    RVP, Adebayor, Aguero

    Please Help!

FPL is a game completely based on form, and Aguero has averaged just 4.3 ppg over the last 9 gameweeks. That is nowhere near good enough for 11.3m, when you consider the othe options in your 3 striker positions.

Looks a good idea to me. I don't go for the expensive strikers option long term as to get good value for money for a 12M+ player he needs to be getting in the region of 250 points per season - and they very rarely do. You always need one for a good captain option but two or even three top-price forwards means you have to compromise elsewhere. Currently RVP and two of Adebayor, Yakubu, Sturridge, Ba seems like the way to go.

To be fair I've got Aguero too and I'm shipping him this week. He's done great but I think it's time for him to go. City have got some tough fixtures and Aguero has been relatively (by his standards) cold for a long time now. Plus he only ever seems to play 60-odd minutes and then comes off allowing Dzeko and Balotelli to score bucketloads against a DF thats been chasing Aguero's shadow all afternoon.

So basically I think it's the right time yes

Yep, completely agree. Got sick and tired of seeing Balo and Dzeko benefit and the lack of 90 mins is frustrating. He's still scored well, but better value elsewhere for now.

I don’t know what to do this week with my team!
    it is as follows:
    Vorm (Krul)
    Vermaelen, Enrique, Baines,Shawcross (De laet)
    Silva, VDV, Dyer (Ohara, Rodwell)
    RVP, Ade, Sturridge

    I have 2 frees and was orignally thinking (A) VDV/Shawcross to Bale/Jones.
Now have thes in mind too:
    B. VDV/Sturridge to Bale/Ba
    C. VDV/Sturridge to Bale/Welbeck
    D. VDV/Adebayor to Bale/Suarez
    E. Other

    Any other opinions?

I know, but I've been needing to take at least a 4 point hit for a few weeks now, and have just been doing the one transfer, which has never worked out. examples: got in Evans the week he got dropped, got in Rangel the week he got injured,

Had Rooney all season and should have got rid but always had more urgent transfers. Used my WC far too early.

Been top of my mini league for ages but had 4 red arrows in a row and been losing money. Guy 5th in my league has £107m and a beast team, definitely gonna threaten.

So figured I'll get the points hit out of the way now, then hopefully start saving some FT's.

On 76 with Dyer coming for Drenthe and Enrique playing tonight. I thanked the lord that Wilko came on for a point! So not too shabby. Would have been even more had I not swapped out Serg and Nani, but we must not dwell on the past.

    Team reads as :

    Vorm/Ruddy
    Jones/Enrique/Brown/Simpson/Wilko
    Silva/VDV/Bale/Drenthe/Dyer
    RVP/Ade/Sturridge

So, I’ve got 2.3 in the bank.

I can do a sneaky straight swap and do

    A) Brown > Verminator,

    Or

    B) I can downgrade Drenthe to a 5.0 mid and then do Brown > Vidic for the double up alongside Jones.

    Or

    C) Something else

    Thoughts on the above choices?

    Thanks

Man Utd... fixtures to make you drool, injuries to make you weep. Eitherway a lot of body fluid is coming out.

whats the story with de gea? is he dropped? Also if you play a keeper who doesn't play, does he get get replaced in FPL team by reserve keeper?

    will Smalling play? regular like?

is Nani or Young going to turn it on? will Young play as a striker?

    Will Welbeck become main striker?

Cahill's age has caught upto him and Fellaini fouls b4 the ball reaches his head.. Just wanted to say a thank you guys!

I was 26th in a league of 31 with 189 points before I started coming on here (week 6).
    Now I'm 11th with 589 points (week 14).

I'd already used my wildcard, so I'm getting there slowly but surely.

Got a bit of an itchy finger and confirmed the transfer of Murphy -> Johnson (Norwich) and Best -> Sturridge for a 4 point hit!

    Team for week 15:

    Vorm - (Given)
    Simpson - Jones - O'Shea - Enrique - (Shawcross)
    Mata - Silva - Thomas - (Johnson) - (Walters)
Sturridge - Adebayor - Van Persie

What do people think about captaining defenders?

other than those 2 games in midfield i don't think you can blame the manager. in the form pre-montenegro red card rooney could have scored from centre back

Maybe, but I wouldn't bother with him until he's scored a goal or too 1st

if you got money do it. if its 4 point hit then its slightly risky. but you do need to get rid of Chicarito anyway, so he is still an obvious choice. or maybe wellbeck or berbatov but i think thats gambling.

got the cash but it was saved for Ramsey to Bale before Chicarito got carried off.

bad luck. hate changing plans. dont know then, i just swap Aguero for Rooney this morning couse i think he`ll be on fire next month. he never get rest or rotation, there is a great run of games for UTD, and with chicarito injured he`ll hopefully get back up front .

I made the same move - Will you captain him over RVP though? I'm thinking not

Wolves were dreadful yesterday, the perfect game for him to recover his form. Sorry for speaking with my mouth full, but how I love a slice of bonus pie!

Rooney's problem is he is one of the most mentally fragile players in the league, he needs a goal to go on a run. Until he scores, don't even bother with him
