In the first of a number of members articles over the international break, we delve into the data from the Gameweek gone by. Palace’s approach with Christian Benteke arrives under the radar, whilst we also take a look at Paul Pogba’s first away outing for United, Chelsea’s in-form attacking duo and the performance of City’s playmaker in the weekend win over West Ham.
How nailed on is Holgate?
Not very, coleman coming back.
Hes toast as soon as Coleman is back
So Lamela got off free then?
Seems like it. Accusations based on pictures rather than video are always less likely to succeed.
Berahino at stoke could be good value when getting kun back?
Definitely one I'll have on my watch list. He will have a point to prove.
See that no price changes.
Have 2FT and Aguero & Gray. Thinking go to Lukaku & Benteke and forsake Arsenal mids. Then WC after gw5 for Kun return and Arsenal up turn in fixtures. What would you do?
A) Yay
or
B) NayHad a couple drinks btw after gold day in business. Im asking yay to the plan I suggest or nay WC now? Thanks
A
It's the logical move thanks
Its a good plan in an ideal, injury free 4 week period.
Yep that's an issue ideal scenario. Could jump on price rises now.
Gray still free ... if jailed go for it
Sanchez over ozil for me btwNeed to hold off agree until no Gray circumstances. Two great fixtures if he is freed.
I'm in for Sanchez too. The explosiveness to hard to ignore even if Ozil consistent.
Loving this international break with such panic and chaos.
who is not wildcarding ?o/
Same here, thinking maybe just Aguero and Townsend to Lukaku/Costa and Ozil (-4)
Good plan but if you acould afford sanchez do it...
For me ,Thinking about mini WC if payet is fit
Vardy kun Tadic Snoddy→Lukaku tekkers sanchez payetFor -8 ?!!
Snodgrass is one to monitor, I'd like to keep i had him and Vardy as well. You could go Aguero and Tadic to Lukaku and Sanchez gratos.
Will consider this ... cheers AM
Why are people keeping Jak in their teams? He will be dropped sooner rather than later. Marshall is a better gk.
I have Heaton with him and I'm quite happy to just roll with Heaton for the season if need be.
I have Foster with him and am happy to do the same
I guess because there are far more pressing concerns for people than who their second choice keeper is
No reason to keep if wildcarding. Otherwise, probably no reason to waste a transfer on a second keeper.
He was 4m and frees up some funds.
Guys planning to remove Aguero and Alli,
and probably going to get Lukaku,
and which is better Ozil or Sanchez?
[I'll have enough money]
Or is there any other better options?100% Sanchez
Sanchez
How about Lukaku? Or any other better choice?
I prefer Ozil because those additional funds can be used elsewhere.
Is Sanchez really worth it over Ozil? Or does the consistency and marginally lower price of Ozil mean he's the better option?
The Watchlist ranks Ozil above Sanchez. But Ozil isn't even an option in the Captain's poll while Sanchez is...Back your gut feeling!
Potential to explode or play longer steady eddy consistency game.Depends, consistency & price over explosiveness? I can see a poll for last week but not Wk 4 yet?
Btw Id rather go for Sanchez and be burned! Easy move to Ozil after
Its an interesting comparison. I think we can all agree that Sanchez will confortable outscore Ozil barring and injury or suspension. But If Ozil was 0.5 less than he is, he would be the better value. But hes priced slighty too high. Gotta go with Sanchez if you can
Pardon the typos
For me it depends on when you plan to wildcard. If you are wildcarding soon, roll the dice and go with the big hitter. If you don't plan to wildcard soon, I'd rather go with Ozil and have the extra funds to use elsewhere.
Sanchez has better pts/game
Ozil has better pts/value
Sanchez being a better C option (because of the pts/game). If you have a C in your team Ozil is the better option. If you plan on Cing Sanchez, Sanchez is the better optionreply fail
OK would you be happy with this line up for next GW - 1m ITB 1FT - seriously thinking of just leaving it.Only worry is price changes.
Foster
Shaw Valencia Williams(Stones, Smith)
Hazard (c) Firmino Redmond Ramirez Capoue
Ibra Rondon (Aguero)Townsend over Tadic next three games?
Ye
I think so, that's my order of getting rid anyway, Tadic the priority
I'm surprised there isn't more of a bandwagon for Zaza?
With all the penalties in the first few weeks, a world-class penalty taker like Zaza for a good team should be a very attractive option. That penalty tho
Cheaper than Tekkers and Defoe, would never be on pens but hammers have the potential to be a great team just struggling with injuries. Good run of fixtures coming up though.
Just imagine if Payet, Lanzini, Carroll, Zaza, Sakho, Valencia, Feghouli, Tore, Antonio, Fletcher, Calleri, Ayew were all fit. So many options up top now.Noble is ahead of him for sure but he might struggle to get in with all those options around.
Who else do you think would be ahead of him in the pecking order?Noble is captain so should play everygame if fit. Not sure who else would take them to be fair, maybe Ayew if fit or Carroll.
There's a few contenders upfront for West Ham.
https://youtu.be/4baUZ9NFkD0
"World class"So world class that he's out on loan at 25. He's a wait and see. Will he be nailed-on and will he be a good FPL pick.
Anybody else thinking Lukaku captain coming up, or Hazard a safer option vs Swansea?
Got eye on how Lukaku does in the internationals. If he scores & plays well id go with him. He's due to get his season rolling
I think Hazard is safer, he's been brilliant early on.
Do you think RW is Antonio's place for now mate? Is it too risky to punt on him?I think it will be after the City game. Heard Barry Gold on the radio say last week Antonio hates to pay RB which I was surprised to hear as a chairman potentially undermining his manager. He was adamant Antonio will be a big star so think the will within the club is behind Antonio playing in attack
@Nick
latest rumour is Richards on loan, that to me sounds like Bilic has finally clicked that Antonio is a winger, never a RB. If all the front players were fit, this would be my team.
............Zaza/Carroll
Payet.....Ayew.....Antonio
..........Noble..Kouyate
Tore is garbage tbh, Feghouli would be the biggest threat to Antonio. Still leaves Lanzini, Calleri, Fletcher, Nordviet, Fernandes, Sakho, Valencia.Great stuff. Cheers mate.
Who is Richards? 😀Micah Richards from Villa haha
If I was on a wc I would definitly look at Antonio as my 3/4th mid. Hopefully we get Payet, Lanzini back after internationals, plenty of goals in this team.Oh haha! I thought you were talking about a West Ham player.
Yeah, not on WC but looking at a Tadic replacement. Thanks again mate 🙂
I think that this line-up is about right - but I can see Anotonio, Lanzini, Feghouli and, perhaps, Ayew chopping and changing a fair bit. It could be frustrating from a Fantasy point of view (...but great from a WHU point of view!)
Yep Bilic showed last season he wasnt afraid to mix it up, 352, 451, 433. Payet sould be the only safe bet. Best team we have had for ages, hopefully we can push for Europe again this year.
It will also be interesting to see what happens if (when) we end up trailing late in a game - there are so much attacking options to turn to if Bilic is prepared to sacrifice Kouyate / Nobes or one of the back four. Exciting times.
wehave payet
whu us defo stacked w talent, alth some of these caracters are inconsistent,
but somehow feghouli has to play and start, he was very good last yr in Champions...id play him ahead of ayew
i would even consider ayew upfront ahead of carroll/zaza/sakho
ayew
payet - feghouli - antonio
2nd half subs t come in for 15-20 min sakho carroll calleri
what d u think?and im forgetting the talent of valencia..hes lightning quick...bilic has a lot to wotk with, not sure he has the talent to being the best of the squad hopefully he does
Valencia has been disappointing so far this season. He looks dis-interested and my yet leave in the transfer window. Lanzini is the other midfield attacking option - he was fantastic last season and is back in training now. H
A) Ibra/Ozil/4.6 def
B) Rooney/Sanchez/Koscielny.
Rooney's stats are similar to Ibra and he creates so much more freedom to spend elsewhere.Tough one but someone else instead of Rooney (I say that as a United fan too).
havent seen much of their games i was just looking at stats. have to have one of them surely, i have ibra currently but am on wc.
I need some help and advice with my team please:
GK - Jakupovic (Lloris)
DEF - McAuley, Amat, Shaw (Friend, Paredes)
MID - Ibe, Martial, Payet, Townsend (Fletcher)
FORWARD - Ibra, Negredo, Aguero
I have 1.3million in the bank and I haven't played my wildcard yet.Your midfield makes me feel ill. Wildcard imo.
Should I get Foster WBA or Heaton for Lloris?
Martial and Payet for Ozil and Hazard?Ibe for Barkley?
you have mcauley so i'd go heaton.
ozil and haz yes.
ibe for barkley as well if you can
you need hazard and a new goalie combo.
Martial is off form. Payet has barely played. No shame in Wild carding.
Should I get Foster WBA or Heaton for Lloris?
Martial and Payet for Ozil and Hazard?
Ibe for Barkley?
Cech (Jakupovic)
Valencia Stones McAuley (Holgate Amat)
Hazard Sterling Ozil Townsend (Hojbjerg)
Ibrahimovic Lukaku Defoe
Is this better than my team above?Take capoue for hojbjerg and someone for holgate. He will be a doubt when coleman is fit
Are both Remy and Benteke going to start?
Should do.
Doubt it. They may rotate
Pardew started Wickham and Benteke together last week. I suspect Remy and Benteke are actually even a better pairing. I guess we will see.
Really not sure if I should wildcard to have an upper hand on my rivals.
This is my team:
Foster - Jako
Shaw - Stones - Morgan - Targett - Amat
Hazard - Firminho - Lamela - Redmond - Rodwell
Aguero - Zlatan - Gray
What's your verdicts guys?Really no reason to wildcard that unless both Lamela and Gray get suspended somehow.
This
If Aguero is banned then Aguero to Lukaku/Costa
Cech (Jakupovic)
Valencia Stones McAuley (Holgate Amat)
Hazard Sterling Ozil Townsend (Hojbjerg)
Ibrahimovic Lukaku Defoe
Out of 10 please?8.5/10
holgate and jaku may lose their spots.
rest is ok provided you have a plan to get kun6.5
Thanks.What would you change?
It's more a personal preference, so if you like it you should definitely stick.
I don't think there's value in a premium keeper. I prefer Williams to Stones, especially because Holgate won't be starting much longer. Townsend seems more of a stats tease than anything (I'd almost rather save the million and get Puncheon), and I just don't think Defoe gets enough service/chances to be worth it over Benteke (and I say this as a Defoe fan).Thank you. I will tweak it a bit. I actually had Puncheon and Benteke in another draft
So what's the deal with Collins?
Fools gold or a genuine option?Ogbonna lurking.
If not nailed don't bother with cheapies on D imo.
Will do nothing but cause headaches when he is benched and you never wanna burn a transfer to fix annoying small issues like that with bigger problems always coming about.
When I see Lukaku, Barkley, Coutinho in my team. I feel could either go spectacular or 2 points all round haha
Quite troll-ish
Potential for 'look at me, I'm a genius' as well as, 'what was I thinking."
Foster-Jaku
Valencia-Stones-Williams-Friend-Amat
Hazard-Tadic-Bolasie-Townsend-Ramirez
Aguero-Vardy-Gray
(2.5 ITB)
I have 2 FT and plan to:
- Aguero (if banned for 3 matches) to Benteke (good fixture and nailed in 'long ball to the box of Pardew's system' and on penalty next time, rather than Lukaku (I had Bolasie), Costa (I had hazard) and Ibra for MU's att stats reason.
- Townsend to Sanchez/Ozil (good fixture and form)
But i have some worries about need a west ham cover, Gray possible banned, Tadic scoreless but great in stats, or punt in Bolasie as Everton cover?
I had no problem with my defence...Will Jason keep Puncheon above his weight ?
😉possibly not once remy and maybe even wilshere show up and zaha settles back down?
No. He is Puncheon drunk
Well, as long as he's not Puncheon Judy that's ok.
Anyone want some fruit Puncheon? On the house 😎
Where's the Puncheon line?
Got a kick out of that one
The more I think about it, the more I think I'll keep Aguero.
Call me crazy...It's a valid option of you see it from cost perspective (FT or hits). If you have a good C option and 5th MF/ 4th DF who can earn points, it's quite okay.
Lukaku vs Sunderland, or Costa vs Swansea.
And instead you would play...Capuoe as 5th mid? Kind of crazy but yea its only 2 games so can see the logic. The way I see it, value lost (which will be minimal anyway - bought at 13m and now 13.1 so the first .1 is free) doesn't matter as I'm keeping him for the long term.
As he'll be back in GW6 that's 2FT spent in three weeks removing and then getting back the best player in the game, and removing him will destroy my team balance as I'll more than likely use at least some of the funds he frees up to upgrade elsewhere, which will make it even more of a struggle to get him back.
The only other thing could be to plan to WC before GW6 to get him back, however I'm not the biggest fan of planning to wildcard.Sound logic, I like the fixture swing in Gw6 and should have better ideas of bandwagons then so that when I want to wc. Definitly dont wc now unless you have to.
As long as you have a decent 4th defender or 5th mid for 2 weeks then its a reasonable move.
People who plan to WC this GW, don't push the button yet.
Keep taking hits so we can effect price changes. Play the WC just before the deadline and the hits get wiped. It has very little effect so you're better off hitting the button regardless.
It has very little effect because too many people have that attitude. If FFS had a bandwagon of people doing it, I reckon we would have seen a rise last night.
It's far too risky anyway. What if you're suddenly taken ill or your internet goes down on the Friday night before the deadline? Just save the hassle and hit the button.
Could do it 2-3 days before instead. Don't have to leave it that late.
Look at it as risk versus reward
Risk - forgetting to hit WC and taking a -44
Reward - a minute possibility of gaining another 0.1 or soExactly, totally not worth it.
I'm not wildcarding, so I'd much rather you just hit the button.
This
I would do it as soon as I decided to WC, have seen many a shattered dream on here with people who forget
I think I'd need to be committed to a mental institution if I forgot to wildcard!
Sensible
It's one of those situations where you'd definitely like everybody else to do it but it's far too risky to do it yourself.
You realize you're talking to a couple dozen people out of 3.5 million right?
Couple dozen? Nah....
How many people you think are online reading this post right now? A hundred maybe?
It's a good strategy OP I like it.
The hits will get erased with the WC/end of.Personally I've gone with the bake a cake method.
WC, brough in all the hottest risers, wait 2 weeks, settle on my squad Friday evening with a bottle of red.
Job done.
My phone line went down mid wildcard once. I didn't have internet for several weeks after. If i did it this way I may have not hit the button. Frankly I think it is stupid and pointless
My options without Kun. Which one would you pick?
A: Ozil + Lamela
Kane + 6.5
B: Sanchez + Lamela
Lukaku + 6.5
C: Ozil + Redmond
Kane + 7.5 (Benteke, Defoe)B
B
B - I need to see some returns from Kane before I'll consider him again.
Yeah, that's worried.
Foster (Heaton)
Shaw Stones Walker (smith, amat)
Hazard Firmino Redmond Bojan (Capoue)
Aguero Ibra Gray
Should I WC and do Kun to Lukaku, Remond to Sterling and Bojan to Ozil
OR
Just do Aguero to Lukaku and Bojan to Ozil for a -4
Is it worth keeping Bojan against Spurs?Bojan's fixtures are great after Spurs
I'd consider the -4 you mentioned. I was hopeful with Bojan but him not starting last match and Stoke shopping for a new forward (Berahino and Bony rumors) has severely dampened his appeal.
Thoughts on Remi's game time at palace?
Many are highlighting Pardew's 4-4-2 v BOU. But what they fail to mention is it didn't work and he had to revert to the usual 4-2-3-1 to recover a point. Wait and see.
It's quite possible it didn't work because Wickham and Benteke have duplicative skills. I expect a 4-4-1-1, with Remy sitting behind Benteke. But we will see.
A lot, when not injured. At least if I were manager he'd be playing.
Foster Jaku
Valencia/Williams/Stones/Friend/Amat
Hazard/Firmino/Tadic/Ramirez/Capoue
Kun/Ibra/Gray
Wildcard-worthy? How are Kun/Gray/Stones/Friend looking in terms of bans/injuries? ThanksStones and Friend should be fine.
If Gray is banned you could consider transferring either him or Aguero.
But this is not WC worthy in my estimation.Cheers
Sterling or Mane long term?
Sterling
Mane for me, especially with no CL or EL to contend with.
