A busy Sunday of football comes to its conclusion at White Hart Lane as Spurs and Sunderland go head-to-head in the 4.30pm kick-off.

The hosts’ 4-0 win over Stoke last weekend boosted out faith in the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, yet their midweek Champions League loss to Monaco at Wembley suggests Mauricio Pochettino’s side have yet to hit top gear.

Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela owners are left cursing their luck after the duo were named amongst the subs, with Mousa Dembele returning to the XI following a six-match suspension.

Certainly, the home side will be buoyed by their visitors’ second-half capitulation at home to Everton on Monday night.

The Black Cats have yet to win under David Moyes and, considering their current form, may well be lucky to avoid a repeat of the 4-1 reverse in the corresponding fixture last season.

Is anyone else a little bit irked that the scoutcast boys (not including Granvile) have not been advocating getting Capoue as a 4th midfielder?

I blame no one but myself for benching Capoue, but their advice carries a lot of weight with me and not pushing us towards 44 points in 5 weeks is a lot to let slip by.

After last season with Leicester, the mantra was "look at the player, not the price", but it seems that this season the same thing has been allowed to happen again.

To be fair, I can't be too critical, though - Jonty brilliantly spotted what Capoue was up to as far back as July 23rd: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2016/07/23/fantasy-premier-league-player-list-analysis-budget-midfielders-4/

    Hats off, Jonty sir 🙂

Disagree. His stats suggest he's hugely over performing and it's unsustainable; he's had one shot on target each week and they happen to have all been going in. It's been discussed on the scoutcast.

there is the argument that he's good at shooting, unlike redmond today for example

Things like this revert to the mean. He won't bang screamers in the top corner every week or every other week.

He'd have to be *very* good at shooting to keep his conversion rate that high. Unrealistically good.

Based on basic concepts like monitoring stats and team structure, the scoutcast people were/are right not to advocate Capoue as a 4th mid.

Correct. But I really value what the guys (who are legends, btw) say and it influences me a heck of a lot.

Granvile was really keen on not benching Capoue - I should of listened 🙁

True. I'm trying to think back to early last season. Was Mahrez being pushed more than Capoue is now? His underlying stats were probably more encouraging.

    7. Majestic like Zizou
      • 13 Years

For me they didn't rate Capoue for how few shots he had on goal and that maybe he was just getting fortunate I'm not sure. Sometimes FPL veterans will look at lots of shots on target as a barometer of a good player and may even overlook a form player like Capoue if they aren't taking lots of shots in the box. I personally wouldn't 100% back him as a 4th mid yet but wouldn't rule it out completely either. The game next week v Burnley should give us a good indication.

He's on such a roll at the moment - a real hot streak! He's defying all underlying stats. He's my 4th midfielder at least until Watford's fixtures take a tricky turn.

mmm not sure, I'm on Foster - Pickford atm, not very happy with it and rather have Foster-Heaton but can't find the 0.5

Foster has tough games coming up after GW6 so considering banking the 0.1 on WC and going Pickford for the saves potential. also Sun have decent fixt coming up.

Heaton in a very similiar bracket to Pickford. that is minimal CS and maximum Save Point. so why not save that 0.5

    2. @SirAustinDangerPowers
      • 14 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

doing the same. just look at those fixtures. rotate well too for Pickfords very tough games.
plus with Sun defence being so weak they have conceded the highest shots last 3 weeks running Pickford has a lot of saves potential.

also Foster has hellish fixtures coming up after gW6

Did you buy Haz at 10?

Try to pick a midfielder that has a good chance in going up twice in price before next deadline, then swap him for Firmino.
With that strategy, you will get your player AND 0.1 increase in team value. 🙂
