what does everyone think of yakubu in next 2 weeks?

was considering bringing him in but the role they asked yakubu to play v sunderland baffled me. Up top by himself and he was pretty much awful as he had no clue on how to hold up the ball and keep possession

just worried without hoilett and rochina blackburn will struggle?

Always look likely to score, especially at home, and with a leaky defense they will need goals.

Can't ask for better fixtures than WBA BOL

    HI Gents,

needs some help. Im doing quite terrible this season and we have a comp at work. Im about 180 points behind the leader however i do have a much better squad than him after transferring ALOT (30 this season)

This is my line-up. Any advice?

Don't worry mate, a lot of us are finding it hard this year.

First thing I'd say for sure is cut down on transfers and hits, if I assume maybe 20 of those transfers were hits that 80 points behind already.

As for your team, it looks very solid, can't see many areas for immediate attention. Boyata is the only one there who needs to go desperately, otherwise I think you have a nice balance there.

Hold tight and hopefully things will improve, 180 points is a big gap, but not un-catch-able yet as long as you cut down on hits.

I think we've got a good chance of getting a positive result against them. I'd imagine we'll play the same sort of football against them as we did against Valencia, sitting deep and then hitting them on the counter attack. Napoli have shown that that is the way to play against them.

Yes id have to agree there, i think nerves had a big part to do with that result tho. I do fancy you to do some damage, the Drog is looking hungry if a bit slow, but theres no doubt his quality is lurking just beneath the surface. If they don't play De Jong i fancy ye to scare the shite outa them. As a matter of interest do you think it'l be Fats or Romeu in the middle?,In the words of Ray Wilkins -My Word you have been spot on in recent weeks regarding the chelsea midfield, proper stayed on your feet,My word!

Romeu will play, and will be the deepest of our midfield three. Ramires will also play, so it will come down to a straight choice between Meireles and Lampard for the final slot. I'd personally prefer Meireles to play, but wouldn't be at all surprised if Lampard gets the nod.

And Lampard played his best football this season around the time when he was being 'rested' from time to time, i.e. post the Swansea game... Not sure that he can play three games in a week any more.

Considering he [apparently] traveled up to Arsenal, and had a late fitness test, I'd imagine that he'll make it for next weekend.

I doubt we'll find out before the deadline though, with Moyes being so unhelpful in his press conferences! It's a horrible FPL dilemma, he has a cracking fixture, but you have no idea whether he'll play or not. It could hurt you either way.

I'm prepared to keep because I'm not too enthusiastic about the other options around that price for this week, and he then has Swansea at home the week after. So even if he still doesn't make it for this week, he has a cracking fixture after that. Although, if he doesn't make it for either of the next two, I'll be absolutely fuming!

Luckily for me I have 2.9 in bank. I can get anyone up to Bale/Walcott. But it would be for a hit I got Nani in for VDV. I could be boring and get Bale but I am contemplating a punt on Ramires. Moyes keeping shtum will force my hand cos Dyer may be out of favour and Brown has a pants fixture next week and Newc wont keep CS vs Swansea.

For some reason I don't feel that confident about captaining a Spurs player. It's probably because I still don't consider them a top side, and I always want to captain a player from one of the better sides.

Has there been any word on why he took the penalty today ahead of VDV? Because I cannot for the life of me understand why he did, but if he is going to be on penalties in the long run, then it makes him a much better option.

My new pastime. Find a league you're ranked particularly low in, browse through some teams ranked just above you and cry over how sh*t they seem compared to yours whilst wondering why your carefully planned strategy isnt working against teams whose players seemed to have been chosen completely without consideration of form or fixtures.

It is not. United have a very good run compared to the other big sides. I signed Rooney on Friday, captained him and he's done me well. 2 goals and sneaking the 3 BP's hopefully.

Nani has not been in a top form this season, but he showed some good moments of Nani's last season. Him and Rooney are where the goals come from for United.

Do you guys think Drenthe will start next week?
I would really love to keep him, he has huge potential to be an explosive player in FPL. (He proved it with 16 points haul)

Hey, Drenthe owners, are you guys keeping this 'Balotelli clone'?!

Is it worth getting an everton defender? Their not too terrible defensively, and if they play well in the first leg of the dgw then its a pretty good score as long as Tottenham don't bulldoze them..

.9 in the bank, and I can do:
    A) Kompany > Vermaelen
    B) Raylor > Jags
    C) Brown > Jags
    D) Brown > Hibbert
    or
    E) Al-Habsi > Howard

I am lookign to throw some funds at my defense, and debating Vermaelen (whom I want) vs. Everton who are cheaper and rotate better until DGW for me

    Any help much appreciated! Thanks!

Why are you selling Moses when he's just started to hit form? I'd keep. As for Dyer, he's been frustrating enough to ditch him first as I'd prefer you keep Ramsey for a couple of weeks.

I'd keep Moses, he's starting to look good, you would have lost some $ on him and you know he'll play 90 every week - good bench player. You could ship those other two out methinks, I've also got Rambo and looking to offload him for someone who ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING (lots of pent-up anguish over my Ramsey investment). Dyer > Sinclair perhaps?

                my midfield looks like this:
                Sinclair, Ramsey, VDV, Silva, Tiote

the advantage of having Gower is that he might be a good player to have from the bench over the festive period, as some her have pointed out recently; if can still make that Tiote--> Gower in a few days, probably will

Ryan fair play, I saw you did that and I can't deny I'm tempted. I'm in the same position with VDV as I was with Nani 4 GWs ago. Done feck all for a long time, on the other hand he seemed due for a big score. Transferred Nani out, he improved and produced a good score followed by a great score today. Don't want to make the same mistake with VDV, so I'm trying to establish if he IS the same prospect and has got unlucky, or the team has moved it's play to the flanks and he's permanently crocked.

Its a tough one but even the scouts (Mark and co.) think he will only play 3 in the next 5. He could be rested for the Chelsea game and not play against Sunderland. Add that to his injury trouble and it doesn't look good

Yeah he's finding it hard enough to play once a week let alone twice/thrice. Screw it, I think I'm hoping too much for VDV, if it was say Young, Mata or even Silva I'd have dropped him by now. Also got points off Ade for the penalty and wonder if VDV has lost penalties for his injury trouble.

    Vorm westwood

    Mata Bale Sliva Walters Ndyer

    Rvp Ade Ba

I can’t prove any valid reason from the front 8 totake out for Nani…. He is a
must haves now….. I need Nani badly now….can’t miss his haul.

Also is this transfers worth for a 4 point hit ?

    Walters ➡ Nani

    Adebayor ➡ Sturridge

Walters and Ade are worth in the team due to set-pieces and penos. So what to do now ?

    Or

Richards ➡ Shutton instead of ade transfer but this is not worth thou….

I am tempted to do this so that i can have

    Nani Bale Mata Sliva

    Can you guys help me….

Ouch. If it makes you feel any better I screwed up an entire WC back in GW 7 or so. Woke up 11.27 Saturday, panicked having already WCed and having an intermediate team, and transferred on impulse. Ended up with STILIYAN Petrov not MARTIN Petrov and only undid the damage two weeks ago.

To be fair missing out on having Martin Petrov in your team probably was quite a welcome relief!

Still can't believe I did Ade -> Bendy as part of a hit. Lesson learnt, never again. Cost me around 25 points in total that did, with his big hauls and the hits to take him in and out.

Haha how do you think I feel. My only excuse for getting him in was I did it to fund Petrov and Ward out for Jones and ... Drenthe. At least Jones recouped a lot of the lost points, so didn't turn out too bad (but didn't turn out great). A hit to get rid was damage limitations haha.

Oh dear maybe you should be telling that story to all the RVP -> Rooney kneejerkers to make them see sense.

It always seems like a good idea at the time doesn't it.

See, obviously RVP is a superb player and his volleyed winner against Everton shows his uniqueness. But I think the reason he is fantasy gold is A) Arsenal have no other scorer and B) they have built their entire attack around him. Walcott's job is to cross for him, Gervinho to run and make space for him as well as set up sweaty goals (remember the sideways pass in front of the keeper at Chelsea), Ramsey plays through balls to him and Arteta and Song go long if necessary.

No other top six side is in this situation.
