Luis Suarez is given more time to answer his improper misconduct charge. Fergie talks festive rotation, while the injuries pile up for Steve Kean ahead of the weekend game against West Brom.

Sir Alex Ferguson has given Fantasy managers early warning of his Christmas plans, with rotation very much on his mind. The United boss admitted he plans to utilise his squad ahead of a busy run of games over the next few weeks. With the champions facing a favourable run of fixtures, careful, risk-free planning looks essential for those considering their Fantasy assets over the festive period, in order to avoid disappointment:

December is a particularly busy month when we often play eight or nine games. We’ve got a Boxing Day Game, a New Year’s Eve game..it’s going to be a hectic spell and that’s when the squad really kicks in.

The FA has afforded Luis Suarez extra time to answer the improper conduct charge leveled against the Uruguayan following an alleged gesture towards Fulham supporters in the 5/12 Craven Cottage fixture. Suarez had initially been given until 4pm yesterday to respond but the deadline has since been extended. Liverpool have also been granted more time to answer a charge of failing to keep their players in an orderly fashion following the sending off of Jay Spearing in the same fixture.

Anton Ferdinand is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks due to a hamstring problem. The centre-half was subbed off at Anfield on Saturday with the problem and Neil Warnock expects either Fitz Hall or Matthew Connolly to be given a chance in Ferdinand’s absence. Warnock also revealed Heidar Helguson was rested for the trip to Liverpool and will be available to lead the line against Man United. In further QPR injury news, Warnock admitted Paddy Kenny could be available for selection on Sunday, though with Radek Cerny is such strong form, Kenny faces a fight to return to the first XI.

Alan Pardew is optimistic that both Cheick Tiote and Fabricio Coloccini will be available for Newcastle’s home clash with Swansea this weekend. Good news for Pardew in the centre-half area- Mike Williamson will turn out for the reserves tonight as he picks up the pace in his recovery from an ankle injury, though is regarded as “a long shot” for Saturday’s game. Pardew had to play Danny Simpson and James Perch at centre-half in the 4-2 loss at Norwich due to limited options.

Andre Santos is out for three months after undergoing ankle ligament surgery. The Arsenal left-back picked up the problem in last week’s Champions League match in Olympiacos and his loss means Thomas Vermaelen is likely to fill i

Deffo tactical, he went 3-5-2 with Bale as wing back to try get the 2 goals back. It almost worked too. Harry said BAE & Lennon did no worse than anyone else but he just had to change it up to get back in the game

Hi guys. What do you think of this team?

    Krul/Ruddy

    Richards Enrique/Ward/Jones/S Taylor (inj)

    VDV/Bale/Silva/Faulin/Gower

    RVP/Studge/Ade

Got 0.4 in the bank and made my two transfers. Pondering VDV-Mata or Nani as my next move and maybe Shotton in for Ward to free up funds.

I'm keeping VDV for the next two home games at least. If he rips it up, he stays in for the DGW. If he does nowt i'll switch to Nani for his sick home games. I would then get in BAE for the DGW. I'm guessing VDV could well be rested for one of them anyway.

I won't have much cash to play with, I can afford it with my current plan of getting in Smalling for Turner. But if there is more than a 0.2 mill swing on VDV to Nani in that time I won't be able too. Should I just get Evans instead of Smalling to be on the safe side. Even though he is rubbish. And less assured of a start than Smalling? Help!

    Current Team:
    Vorn Westwood
    Jones Simpson Kompany Enrique Wilkinson
    VDV Silva Drenthe Bale Cabaye
    RVP Adebayor Baa

Trying to get Chelsea and Man Utd attacking coverage and have 4 big midfielders in my team would entail these moves over the next two gameweeks
    Kompany>Evans
    Drenthe>Nani
    Adebayor>Sturridge

The second option is to keep the budget midfielder and do
    VDV>Nani

Sturridge is a real consideration at 6.8m.

O.k here goes, I'm a gooner and am seriously contemplating taking out RVP for Sturridge freeing up 5.7m. I already have Rooney, Adebayor, Nani, Mata, Bale and Drenthe and see this as perhaps the time to take out Ferguson giving me 8 forward options to tackle Xmas rotation which is inevitable.

I'm sure the response will be that it is a crazy move, but I've mentioned this before, you need to try to anticipate what will happen, not what has happened. For me it is clear that RVP will not play the game on Dec 31 at home to QPR and instead will face Fulham away, 2 days later. I don't believe RVP will offer that much of a return between Man City away and A.Villa away in the next two matches and certainly isn't the most obvious captaincy choice. The only game that would cause concern is at Home to Wolves on Boxing Day, but this is the day that Rooney is at home to Wigan and looks a great captaincy option too, thereby limiting the advantage of still having RVP.

Sturridge could conceivably offer a decent return over this 5 game period with the trip to Wigan looking very tempting.

I'm throwing it out there that this is the time to ship RVP.

I dont care about you not being a sheep, nor that you wanna transfer RVP out but how someone can be a fan and want their greatest ever manager to be sacked? I'll admit that he had his worst start to a season, but the man is a genius for the players and for the business.

Yep, you're right. The previous six seasons are the mark of a genius.

He was a genius between 1996 and 2004/5. Brian Clough was also a genius for Nottingham Forest for a period of time and look how that ended when it goes stale.

Would Wenger still be manager if only the top two qualified for the champions league. He is there on his ability to keep qualifying in the top four, which is not a success. (1998, 2002 & 2004 represents success) and he chooses not to spend, he chooses not to sign the midfielder to replace Vieira, he chooses not to sign the world class keeper, he chooses not to sign the world class defender. These were all essential at varying times over the past six seasons.

I understand that it is right to support all within your club, but we need a change so bad. Remember, we won league titles before Wenger came here, so it isn't that scary a suggestion.

It was very similar to Drogba around 14 months ago.

There will be a lull or an injury plus the inevitable rotation. It's a suggestion not a definite, but people need to realise he won't get a double figure score every single week and the Xmas schedule is a factor in this consideration. If the games were spaced a week apart then it becomes a different proposition, but like or not Chamakh will play some time upfront in the next 3 weeks and he will go steady at times with RVP.

I think the Drogba thing was different.

That was players not wanting to get rid despite him NOT performing and having Malaria. Which for some reason they thought was "a bit like a cold". Imo it has taken him a year to fully recover.

I think the thing is with this game, I like to take a gamble (Mentioned before Tosey has a similar approach). The gambles aren't stupid but if you genuinely believe that you are better off without a player that most at the top end have then the gain can be massive, especially if you get the captaincy call right. Rooney is a decent captaincy choice throughout the xmas period which can reduce the effect of RVP's threat.

The problem of this is as an Arsenal fan I don't want to be hoping that RVP doesn't score, which does play a part (even if it shouldn't).

It's not an easy choice, but something pushed by the potential I've seen from Sturridge in the last 2 league games in addition to the imminent sale of Anelka, who could have threatened his position.

Taking out Adebayor instead would be an option, but that double gameweek is looming and 3 spurs players are very worthwhile for that period.

Fair point SW, hard choices to be made.
For me RVP and Ade(until the DGW is over) Third striter position over Christmas and January will almost certainly be between Sturridge and Rooney, and I haven't really decided which although Sturridge requires less compromise elsewhere.
The other good options I shall just have to close my eyes to.

Yes. I looked at what I could do to the rest of my team if I turned RVP into Ba, for a front 3 of Studge, Ade and Ba. Gets me an amazing midfield and defense.

But it's still a stupid idea.

Now that we are getting into crunch time in the EPL, let's discuss some early competitors for player of the season?

Guess we're mainly looking at this list:

    City: Silva, Kun
    United: Jones, Rooney, Nani
Chelsea: Sturridge, Mata (Torres? For being patient on the bench 😉 )
    Tottenham: Parker, Bale, Ade
    Arsenal: RVP, Verm
    Pool: Suarez
    Newcastle: Ba
    Swansea: SuperVorm

Vote your top 3 (with some potential for discussion if possible) 😀

Great game this morning. (I live in Japan) and after watching Sturridge he's definitely in. My problem is that I cant decide between Nani or Mata. I think Mata is brilliant, but with Frankie breathing down his neck and making his feelings public I'm not sure if he'll start as much. Any help is appreciated.

Also I have another favor to ask that you people might know the answer to. I recently made a youtube video about the health hazards of being a FF addict. (Don't worry It's a spoof one) The only problem is I don't know where to post it so that people can appreciate it. The link to it is below, If you want to check it out and give me some advice it would be seriously appreciated.
