Gameweek 7 comes to its conclusion as Burnley welcome Arsenal to Turf Moor.

The Gunners roll up on the back of four straight league wins, with Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott both in fine recent form.

The Chilean teed up Walcott’s pair of strikes in the midweek Champions League win over FC Basel and with three double-figure hauls in four, carries the armband hopes of many at Turf Moor.

Walcott has now notched five times in seven across all competitions and has risen to 6% ownership in Fantasy Premier League.

Another big performance today would surely kick start a bandwagon over the international break, yet Arsene Wenger’s side face an obstinate Clarets rearguard that has conceded just five goals in the previous 17 league matches in front of their own supporters.

Please tell me they aren't seriously giving the assist to Walcott?

Linesman didn't give it, but that doesn't take away the fact Ox touched it. If you think giving the assist to Walcott is the right decision then I am totally lost for words.

I have watched it in the slowest of slow motions in UHD from multiple angles and there is no doubt from what my eyes tell me that Ox touched it - plus Ox has actually said he touched it (see TM's link)

After watching the countless replays on Sky I would agree.
However, the bigger question here is what is your major malfunction?
You've just posted to 2 respected seasoned posters like they were something on your shoe.
Another reason quality FFsers are leaving this site in their droves.

why not give the goal to Ox then? let's act like Kos didn't touch it as it was both handball and offside, why make Ox the fall guy?

Your point was that FPL didn't give Ox the assist as it would have meant the referee didn't see the offside and it should not have counted. Well, the ref didn't see the handball either, so should FPL have cancelled Kos goal by that logic?

Thanks, that's pretty clear! Takes of all doubt on two questions: no Ox, hence no offside. Handball question is a bit unclear though, from that exact angle it looks like it hits his arm, but Kos's and Heaton's reactions suggest it hits his face. Is there a better angle to judge that?

It was more tongue in cheek. Obviously someone scored and it wasn't a Burnley player. Wish they would bring in replays in those cases. Either handball or offside should have been the correct call.

It comes off Koscielny's boot not Chamberlain's. You can see it connect with the inside of his green boot pretty clearly in this video. The final angle in that Youtube link suggests Chamberlain just kicks Koscielny's boot (41 seconds).

I'm not saying that Kos didn't touch it with his foot, it looks like they both kicked it at the same time. But the direction and speed that the ball was going after that was the result of Ox's touch, it's pretty clear. Some argue that Ox kicked Kos' foot, but you would see that in that angle that you've linked, wouldn't you?

Not a great angle - the long range wide angle that Sky showed the first replay on you can in UHD see the ball divert when it is above Kosc's boot - plus Ox has said he has touched it which was good enough for Lukaku's goal when there was no evidence he touched it a couple of weeks ago. Even if the video isn't conclusive, FPL need to be consistent.

Sorry, I now realise you meant the other way round. What I see clearly at the '40 is that ball is firmly on Kos's foot as he tries to shoot, Ox kicks Kos's shoe, and the ball hits Kos in arm and face and bounces in the goal.

I see the same except that I don't see Ox kicking Kos's shoe but rather kicking the ball immediately after Kos's clumsy touch.

What about replacing Shaw and Williams with some good defenders, e.g. Koscielny/Bellerin and Walker/Rose?

That move would not be popular in here, “too much money in the defence” etc., but I think it could be smart. Unfortunately I have tied way too much money in attackers that don’t give me much.

      1. Mick J
        • 10 Years

Or, not tied up, but used most of the money on expensive attackers that give me 2 points in return. The £4.5 defenders give me 1 or 2 points every single time.

Do you think Shaw if fit, will start at left back against Liverpool?

Not everyone knows this, but Shaw started out as a right back

Strong chance, I think he's needed. Can see Blind starting ahead of Herrera at DM

Thats interesting. Blind did ok, but that clearance at the end lead to the goal opportunity

Yes he has been good but is he suitable for Liverpools incredible attack right now?

Possibly due to being much quicker than Blind and facing up to Mane.

But I can't see us keeping a CS at Anfield anyway. Or the Bridge the following GW.

Time to wildcard? Slipped from 183k to 250k the last two weeks with this lot:

    Cech / Jakupovic
    Kone / Evans / Mee / Shaw / Friend
    Firmino / Townsend / Antonio / Capoue / Redmond
    Zlatan / Aguero / Lukaku

The Ox didn't touch the ball. Shouldn't have been allowed but I'll take those assist points !

Antonio and Rondon > Son and Austin for -4 hit... would have to be tonight for price rise on Son as well... WBA fixtures are rubbish too...thoughts? Anyone?

No. Wait until just before next deadline to have a clearer picture who's available. You're already talking about -4.

Son is just so tempting though - OoP in a form team with decent fixtures!

Your voice is the one of reason though and I think you're right. Almost wish I had a mid I wanted to shift but a -4 going into the internationals is a risk. Cheers

Antonio should come good again and Rondon will do similar points to Charlie.

Both playing OoP but West Ham are so hard to predict and Son is in such good form! Very very tempting. Personally though it leaves me having to downgrade Rondon or Ibra and taking -4 on the chin, so I'll leave it for now and hope Son's price goes so high its BT an option

Ibra and Brad Smith ----> Deeney and Koscielny.

    Done.

With enough left over to upgrade Ozil for Sanchez in GW9. Hoping Alexis is jaded for SWA having had two South American qualifiers.

I certainly agree. Martial is a better left winger and should be starting ahead of Rashford. Rashford is better as a number 9

Up in nosebleed territory at 46k after a few descent weeks !!
Itching to use make some transfers to freshen team up a bit and catch some risers but will prob wait til after break. have 2FT, 0itb

    Pick .Jaku
    Coleman .Lovren. Holebas. Evans .Amat
    Sanchez .Sterling .Antonio .Firm .Capoue.
    Kun. Lukaku .Deeney.

Any suggestions ?? don't mind taking a -4 for the greater cause, there's a few who I'd like to shift on.
    Antonio»»Son/Wally
    Lovren »»Smith
    Jaku»»Grant (good fixtures

I said last season that whilst taking punts is fun, being miles off the pace is less fun. Not learning though coz giving Ibra more time which means not gonna get kun, plus capping Benteke

    Foster / Pickford
    Valencia / Stones / Williams / McAuley / Amat
    Sanchez / Firmino / Antonio / Chadli / Capoue
    Agüero / Lukaku / Benteke

Allready did Antonio to Son. One more FT and £0.2 ITB.

My best start to FPL so far. Within 10K.

Where would you be looking to make changes?

I suppose at least one of my WBA players need to go. But not happy with Stones and Valencia either. Willing to take a hit.

    Any clever inputs appreciated.
