After seven Gameweeks of 2016/17 – which included five away fixtures – Liverpool are sitting pretty in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are just two points off the summit, having chalked up wins over Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester, in addition to a draw on the road at Tottenham.

A Gameweek 2 loss at Burnley – where they produced 26 attempts on goal to their hosts’ three in a 2-0 defeat – has been the one temporary blip for the red half of Merseyside.

It’s fair to say that the Reds’ midfield has been fundamental to their displays – all but one of their 18 goals have arrived from the centre of the park.

From a Fantasy Premier League perspective, though, pinpointing the optimum Liverpool player in any given Gameweek has proven a near-impossible task.

Five of Klopp’s players – James Milner, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane – have scored at least three times.

As a result, that quintet are all placed in the top 11 midfielders in FPL, with Milner – despite his stint at left-back – benefitting from spot-kick duties four times already.

With time to pause and assess during the international break, we delve into both the team and player data as Liverpool prepare for a schedule that looks ripe for significant investment.

    a) This week: Antonio -> Son, next week: Valencia: -> Verthongen
    Bench Valencia for Friend (WAT)

    b) This week: Valencia -> Walker/Mustafi, Next week: Antonio -> Lallana
Play premium defender ahead of Friend

Wow already thinking about GW9 lol!

      Both seem good options - I'd go A 🙂

Haha yep, have a really messy defense of Valencia, Stones, Evans, Friend and Amat so thought this could be a good week to sort them out but also a bit tired of Antonio in contrast to exciting options like Walcott and Son..

Are Sanchez owners not a bit worried that he has a game at 12:30am Thursday morning in Chile with Arsenal playing on Saturday?

Ahh, that's not quite as bad then. I'm deciding whether it's worth bringing him in this week, still not sure!

A bit. The previous time he was rested because they had PSG mid-week. This time it is Ludgorets they're facing and Wenger may fancy benching/resting Sanchez for that game instead. I could be completely wrong about this notion of mine.

No chance he rests him in a Champs League game imo regardless of opposition

Why are most managers despeared to get rid of Antonio? He still has good fixtures and on his recent form surley must be kept?

The only reason I might sell him is to get Sanchez. Midfield is currently: Antonio, Firmino, Sterling, Snodgrass, (Capoue) - so Antonio seems like the only one I can really sell to get Sanchez.
