Fantasy Football Scout is pleased to announce the launch of the 13th instalment of our open-to-all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

This time around there will be more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

For UK entrants that take part in the Cup, FanDuel is also offering a £10 free credit added to their account when they play their first game.

This is in addition to another exclusive offer for this weekend only, where the first 300 new FanDuel customers who register before Midday on Saturday will get £5 bonus credit added to their account, with no deposit required.

Sign up to our latest Cup competition via the entry form here to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark and our reigning champion Leon Harris in our Cup hall of fame.

If you’re new to all this, read on for a FAQ on the competitions.

How do the cup competitions work?

The FanDuel sponsored FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall standings will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying round will take place in Gameweek 11, with the first round running in Gameweek 12.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to Monday November 7, when we’ll stop entry.

The first round will consist of 1024 teams and, as usual, all the competition’s previous winners who enter will gain a bye into the first round draw where they will join the top scorers from Gameweek 11. FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

Previous winners must enter to be included.

How do I enter?

Enter the FanDuel sponsored FFS Cup via the entry form here.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

You entry is only confirmed once you have confirmed your FPL team Id as part of the process.

This confirmation email will also contain FanDuel’s promo code for UK entrants to access their £10 credit.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of current entries.

How do I find my FPL team Id?

Your FPL Id is your unique Id for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number or your Gameweek History URL in the FPL id field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round cups will be published shortly after Gameweek 11 has concluded and then weekly from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

This cup competition will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule:

Note that some Gameweeks are skipped due to tight turnaround times.

FanDuel Cup Round Dates

Qualifying – Gameweek 11

Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 12
Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 13

Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 19
Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 21

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record your entry again. A a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter. You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament.

Play Capoue with AOA or play Valencia and bench Capoue?

Don't see more than 2pts for either this week, so flip a coin!

Looks a good time to use AoA if you feel like punting, though. Although you may want AoA later in the season if injuries crop up.

Don't have an Arsenal midfielder at the minute should I:

    A) Bring Sanchez in this week
    B) Bring Walcott in this week (won't have space for Sanchez later)
    C) Bring neither in this week but keep cash ITB to get Sanchez next week

Well I have 2 FTs and want to bring in Bellerin, Sanchez and Austin/Benteke.

So I could just bring in Bellerin and a striker this week with 2 FTs and get Sanchez with the FT next week?

Bell + Tekkers sounds better this GW, tbh. Sanchez is obviously the type of player who can really burn you at any time, but that's the way I'd go.

Good advice - Bellerin like a midfielder anyway. Wait and see which of Walcott or Sanchez suits the meta better next week

Was a lovely moment. Not a Chelsea fan but I quite admire him - toughed it out in Ukraine and Russia albeit for a good salary but still learnt Russian and managed to fit in well and has done fairly well for himself thus far...

Pickford arguably has better fixtures but Foster is a season keeper for me. But if nothing else needs attention then it's not necessarily a bad move at all IMO.

How do you choose between Defoe or Deeney for the next few weeks?

    Defoe:
+ Main goal threat for Sunderland
+ Involved in 4 out of 6 goals scored (67%)
    + On Penalties
+ Very likely to get BAPS when he scores
    - Sunderland score very few goals (6 in 7 games)
    - No assist potential as such

    Deeney:
+ Plays for a more attacking team
    + On Penalties
+ Decent assist potential (9 assists last season)
    + Better fixtures short term
    - Involved in only 4 out of 12 goals scored (25%)
    - Goals & BAPS shared around at Watford

    Also considering Austin!

Struggling to decide, but leaning towards Deeney.

    Appreciate your response

    A. Sanchez, Antonio, Holebas
    B. Wally, Payet, Vertonghan

I like the balance of B, but scared of being burnt by Wally as has happened in previous seasons!

    Best midfielders under 7.2m?

Thinking of ditching Redmond for Snodgrass...

No goals or assists in last 6 has really put me off him. No points against Swansea (H), West Ham (A) and Sunderland (H) too.

Ruth, if you don't mind, how do you rate Austin's prospects?

Would you get him this week ahead of Deeney or Defoe?

Personally went for Callum Wilson. Austin mid term fixtures not good

Bournemouth just don't score enough for me, although their fixtures are amazing.

Well, Austin is more in my mind from around GW13/14. They will (almost) have EL out of the way by then and will begin a good run of fixtures (EVE cpl MID sto bou TOT WBA). It wouldn't surprise me to see some rotation or gametime management while the EL group stage is ongoing; Long offers a ready alternative to Austin.

I certainly wouldn't prefer him to Deeney right now - Deeney is as nailed on as they come and Watford have 5 or 6 good fixtures out of the next 7.

With Defoe, Sunderland aren't a team I'd back to score many goals. But the ones they do score will mainly involve him I guess. He wouldn't be ahead of Deeney anyway.

Wilson I do like. I think he's great value, Bournemouth have good fixtures and there is a natural switch from Wilson to Austin in GW13.

        Own Firmino.

        Sanchez - Firmino - Antonio - Redmond - Capoue
        Lukaku - Aguero - Deeney

Snodgrass not a bad option then. Can switch Antonio to perhaps Alli or Son next week then

Hmm as an owner I was kind of hoping to trade for Grant or Pickford and spend the cash.
