This evening we roll out the second round draw of the 13th instalment of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this latest contest, there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition, the top scoring manager for each round will receive £30 FanDuel credit, with £10 FanDuel credit for the next four best scores.

Among our former winners, last year’s victor I Casillas Winning overcame Sticky Toffee Pudding, 66 to 49. He takes on Tufs, who is ranked more than 600,000 places below him.

Meanwhile, moderator and contributor Stilicho knocked out another former champ Wild Rover and goes on to face Tinyswede in the next round.

Mark and I, also crashed out to end our dreams of a second title, to Buzzedagain and Bash Villa respectively.

Former champ Gribude faired better, overcoming Optimus Clyne, as did Ninja Fit Saints, who stays in the race to become the first to win twice by beating R32omon.

While Gribude’s next opponent Allgonepozzo is ranked just 8,721 places behind him, Ninja Fit Saints has a far tougher test, taking on Jurgen, who is ranked 486,634 places higher.

MCH is another winner to progress, after seeing off Sporting to set up a second round clash with Shem Bayley.

JazzyJ87’s score of 79 sees him win the £30 FanDuel voucher for the highest score of the round.

The four managers to win a £10 FanDuel voucher for having the next highest scores were Pipermaru, galactijoe, Schmeichel Sea and Jinkys Oars.

Another manager to look out for is Pink Unites, who beat 2012/13 FPL champion Tom Fenley 49 to 27. He faces Shanev13 in round two.

Elsewhere, the only Scoutcast regular to go through to round two, Andy85wsm, will be squaring up to Lardy, who is 600,000 places above him in the overall rankings.

Other notable second round match ups include applebonkers’ clash with Back to Back Ballacks and mikeharbrw’s encounter with The Normal One.

The highest ranked manager left in the competition is Simonsimondock, who is currently 211th in the world. Sigfried Sassoon, who is ranked just inside the top 500,000, has the dubious honour of facing him in round two.

The first round results can be found via this link, while the full second round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

A little silver lining for the Arsenal fans is that by finishing second in their group they will avoid Bayern and possibly Real in the round of 16's. Some group winners will get awfully unlucky due to Bayern's (and maybe Real's) poor performance in group stage.

Not about wanting to progress. Even with a full squad as we played some weeks in the CL, we struggling quite significantly. Not much point trying to force the issue this year when we still lack in-depth quality in certain areas.

I think Poch honestly thought the team he put out would be good enough. No one was complaining last year when Trippier and Walker were rotated.

Wimmer was excellent when Vertonghen was out last season too.

In truth Monaco were just better and I'm not sure the subs would have made much difference.

Fair enough, this makes a great deal of sense. If they were simply beaten by better teams and gave it their all, so be it.

Not sure how much else the squad can get deeper than by doing well in the CL, since the new PL TV deal is so good that as long as a team stays up they get a windfall.

Leicester won the PL last season. They knew it was a one-off winning it last season just as they know CL is a one-off this season. So they are just enjoying the ride. Spurs are trying to build a longer-term project with a bunch of kids. Completely different scenarios.

Many Spurs fans cracking the same joke as Penaldado. They fail to realise that the squad is a bunch of kids who have just had their first run in the competition. We outdid ourselves by even qualifying in the first place. It takes a few seasons before you can cement yourself as a regular CL team let alone thinking of winning it.

Well their inexperience showed. Inexperience in any competition would effect a much older squad. Are you denying that it would effect a younger group more?

Nah you see it time and time again, teams with champions league pedigree get the job done one way or another. There are some experienced players in that squad though

I wasn't cracking a joke. why the manager played a weaker team is beyond me. It's not like they were in a group with barca or bayern. Tottenham won't win the ucl next season either so shd they give up every season

Even Leicester got through and although their group was easier there were 2 teams better than them

Having read through ur comments again I get ur point now

But still I would have at least played the strongest side if I was a spurs fan who went to the stadium I would be livid

The only first-teamers that were available and didn't Vertongen and Walker (who has been rotated throughout the competition). In terms of CL experience there isn't any with the exception of Lloris.

See above. Leicester are going all out to do the impossible as they did in the PL last season. Spurs are slowing trying to establish themselves over the long-term. As a fan I wasn't expecting more than a runout. It wasn't pretty, though.

So much this -- using a big club attitude to derisively brush off supposedly small club Leicester but then using a small club excuse to not advance in a big club competition. I don't get it.

I desperately wanted to get through, but didn't deserve it. Too many half fit and out of form players. Eriksen been poor, and Sissoko shown nothing, etc, etc...

Agreed. We should just concentrate on the league. We have a quality first XI but very little depth. We haven't coped well with injuries let alone trying to compete on multiple fronts.

Hmm. Be interesting to see how much effort goes into last CL game.

In truth we haven't been great in league for a while either. Only positive is still unbeaten and hopefully attacking form will pick up.

Barcelona is there, but Atletico and Juve will be tough opponents too. And if Dortmund wins Real's group, then you really should count them as one of the big ones too. And they can't draw Leicester. So, it will be 4/7 chances that they still draw a really tough opponent by finishing 2nd in the group. Which is less than it should, of course.

I can see Poch playing him to regain consistency and attacking edge. Although, who knows. Would love the opinion of a Spurs fans who knows more.

Need to lose 0.1 to do Lukaku to Kane, how about:

    Evans + Lukaku > Kane + Nyom (-4)

    thoughts on a postcard please

Who are people switching Lukaku to? I don't have the money to upgrade to Kane, Costa or Ibrah and there doesn't seem to be much value below that price bracket. I already own Austin, are there any other options?
