Despite grabbing eight goals in nine starts, it seems Sergio Aguero still hasn’t done enough to merit a place in some Fantasy managers’ plans, with growing calls for his dismissal among the community this week.

Our hot topic posters mull over the possible replacements for the Argentine, who is to be assessed by Pep Guardiola ahead of City’s trip to Burnley with a foot problem. Meanwhile, our community scribes take a look at what the fans, bookies, form guide and fixtures have to say about the weekend’s best armband candidates and transfer targets. There’s a certain Icelandic midfielder hogging the limelight in our Members tables round up and, finally, we find out the Fantasy managers who have already proved their calibre by topping our community leagues.

The Community Articles

Romelu Lukaku let down YMA last weekend after becoming the first of his six bookies, form and fixtures based captain picks to flop. He’ll be hoping that this Gameweek’s top choice fares better.

Meanwhile, Everton fans are predicting a better performance from their side when they take on Southampton on the south coast on Sunday, according to Bolivian Seaman‘s latest look at the supporters’ forums.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

After blanking away to Crystal Palace, some are starting to reassess the 13.2m-priced Sergio Aguero’s value for money. Prior to today’s news, which confirmed that he’ll be assessed prior to facing Burnley due to a foot problem, the calls to ditch the Manchester City striker were already growing to a crescendo. With Chelsea set to roll up to the Etihad next weekend, the exodus could soon pick up pace.

For Kt_Interista the Premier League’s top goalscorer Diego Costa looks an ideal replacement, while some are also considering acquiring Harry Kane early, even though he faces a Chelsea backline seeking their seventh league clean sheet in a row this weekend.

Even Olivier Giroud, who is still in search of his first Premier League start, is in the frame to replace Aguero. Our hot topic on the Arsenal striker offered the reminder that he has scored three times in his last three cameos in the league. We also sparked a discussion on your ideal front three, that for some, includes the Frenchman.

Penalty duties may be key to choosing the best replacement for those looking to jettison Aguero. With this in mind, Sleep Talk dropped by during the week to let us know where of the Premier League’s most spot-kick happy referees will be deployed in Gameweek 13.

Those that drafted in Kane ahead of last weekend’s clash with West Ham were certainly glad that Mike Dean was in charge, according to our latest “Rough with the Smooth” round up. He awarded a spot kick to both sides with the England striker’s conversion helping to deliver an impressive 13-point haul.

For some, this season has certainly presented far more rough than smooth Gameweeks, prompting Simon Says to ask whether 2016/17 has been more or less enjoyable than previous years.

The Members Tables

Gylfi Sigurdsson was the only success on my goals imminent table last week. Click here to see the list of players looking to follow his lead in Gameweek 13.

Teams that leave their home fans depressed are the focus of Wakey’s latest table, which looks at those who concede the most chances on familiar turf.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

This week saw the launch of my Millionaires league, for those like me who are in the ranking doldrums and looking to break into the top one million going into Gameweek 13. The code to join is 869-924390.

Cheesoid handed us this latest update from the Fantasy Chili Bowl group competition, which looks back at last weekend’s encounters and ahead to the second round of matches.

Elsewhere, Sahil Sud continues to lead Red Lightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league and has now been in the top thousand for the last six Gameweeks.

There’s also no change at the summit of the FFS Moderators and Contributors league, where Facer retains top spot.

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score was 25, which saw 141 players depart and 1806 remain.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spreadsheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Just not completely sure that Walcott will start with his minor toe injury & the baby situation.

Was bored so I decided to do a statistical comparison of goals scored away from home and at home for each team with a related samples t-test. Turns out there is a statistically significant difference between home and away goalscoring (0.0121 < 0.05), Although I had to tweak Liverpool and Burnleys numbers slightly because their fixture in GW2 was swapped.

Interestingly 5 teams scored more away from home than at home: Arsenal (12-13) City (12-15) Palace (8-9) Swansea (5-6) West Ham (6-7)

3 teams show no difference: Spurs (9-9) Hull (5-5) and Middlesbrough (5-5)

Average goals scored home in 6 games was 9.25 and away was 7.25. Sorry for the boring and useless information

Good stuff! Some light relief for someone who has been running stats packages all week!

I'm trying to wonder what other hypotheses could be tested.

Number of double digit hauls per team home and away?

The man himself. Links have been a source of much discussion over the years, I don't post mine as feel it would give rivals an advantage. Fwiw I am currently 110k so no great shakes. No doubt Jonty has an all time better rank (rarely mentions it though) given fondness of a top 10k finish. Your henchmen are clearly angry at me for passing comment so will refrain from doing so going forward!

Jonty has never ducked a scoutcast even during the dark days of October.

Most FPL managers would have sent the first team coach out to face the media after 3 weeks of twentysomething points.

Advice please gents! Tough one this week...

0.0 in bank and 1 FT

    A) Chadli & Kun > Siggy & Ibra
    B) Chadli & Sanchez > Siggy & Mane (Couts only current Lpool)
    C) Chadli & VVD > Siggy & Barragan

Bench is De Roon, Amat, Pieters

Snodgrass is involved in most of what Hull do + set-pieces. Don't know how involved Phillips will be when Chadli is back.

Williams. Southampton pretty unstable. More suprise if Chelsea dont score against Spurs.

    Pickford
    Alonso - Fuchs - Lovren - Amat
    Coutinho - Sanchez - Firminho (c)
    Aguero - Lukaku - Austin

    Boruc - Allen - Fletcher - Pieters

    1 FT and bank 1.0

    1. SuperMario
      • 16 Years

      A. Save FT: for surgery next week..
      B. Allen ---> Snoddy (bench Amat)
      C. Fuchs & Allen ---> Chambers & Siggy (-4)

I am going to lose value on Allens drop.

    Aguero Walcott Allen out
Ibra Coutinho Siggy in for a -8

    Front 8

    Hazard Coutinho Firmino Siggy Carrick
    Ibrahimovic Costa Lukaku

Will then look to upgrade Lukaku to Kane in the next 2 weeks.

    Thoughts?

Don't be so silly, Aguero and Wally could be the two highest scorers this week

Sick and tired of searching for any news on Wally's baby/toe. Planned this transfer for a couple of weeks now and am getting cold feet. As bad as Costa's 4YC nightmare.

More than the baby that toe injury is off putting.
could end up with both Aguero and Walcott not starting while Coutinho and Siggy rack up the points.

hence haven't pulled the trigger yet. still not sure and cant sleep over it as Allen's imminent drop affects the SV.

    B) Zaha
    C) Keep

    Heaton
    Lovren, Evans, Amat
    Sanchez, Hazard, Coutinho, ALLEN
    Aguero, LUKAKU, Austin
    (Pickford, Pieters, Williams, de Roon)
    2FT 1.8 ITB

    Which option is better:
    A) Lukaku + Allen ➡️ Giroud + Siggy
    B) Allen ➡️ Phillips (Lukaku ➡️ Kane next week)
    C) Lukaku + Allen ➡️ Rondon + Firmino/Mane

      C
      For me Rondon + Firmino
In the basic stats I do, Rondon has the potential to be the highest points scoring forward across the next 5 games.
