Arsenal have this afternoon confirmed they are closely monitoring the proposed industrial strike action due to take place on the London Underground this Boxing Day.

With the Gunners set to face Wolves at 3pm that day, the club have made supporters aware via their official website that, in the event of a strike, any decision as to whether the match goes ahead will be made with the public’s safety in mind. Both Arsenal and Wolves are already liaising with the relevant authorities ahead of any announcement.

Chelsea also have a home game that day, with Fulham due to travel to Stamford Bridge and although the club have yet to comment, reports over the weekend have suggested both these matches could conceivably be at risk if the strike goes ahead.

At the moment, this is just a heads-up. We must stress that nothing has been finalised either way but Fantasy managers should at least be aware over a possible postponement on the horizon.

With Man United and Liverpool hosting Wigan and Blackburn that Gameweek and with Spurs taking a trip to Norwich, there would be plenty other strong options available if the games are called off. Owners of Chelsea and Arsenal assets face a real quandary, though- with both clubs at home to Aston Villa and QPR respectively on New Year’s Eve, would getting rid for one gameweek be the sensible option?

Plenty to mull over, then, and, added to this is the possibility of a double gameweek for both London clubs if the matches are indeed cancelled, it’s fair to say we’ll be keeping a keen eye open for any update.

    Should I trade out Brown?

Is Jones a good transfer for the long term?

People say there are no 'must haves'.

But there are 'wise to haves', and Jones is one of them, a practically locked-on player for the Champions who are keen to improve defensively, with a good run of fixtures, and often playing OOP in midfield.

'Wise to haves' isn't as snappy though.

Thats it, gone for it and made 2 frees: Dyer>Tiote & Naylor>Caulker

This leaves me with 0.8 in the bank to potentially do Krul>Friedel next week, which will max my spurs coverage for the dgw along with Ade and Bale.

I can't answer that question, but the extra funds give me more options if he isn't. I bought Bale at 8.1 so am not ready to jump yet.

I bought him early too but I can't have a 9m midfielder on the bench again. He is likely to suffer a price drop tonight too. You will not get a definite answer till you get the team news before the game starts.

Not sure about 2 UTD defenders away at Fulham. Naylor will be a better option than 1 of the UTD defenders.

am tempted by Raylor/McAuley to JEvans myself, though I may wait until Wigan at home, as I'll need a striker to replace Yak.

    Current team:

    Vorm (Al-Habsi)

Jones, Assou-Ekotto, N. Taylor (Wilkinson, Orr)

    Mata, Silva, Bale, Walters (Tiote)

    van Persie (c), Aguero, Ba

    0.0 in bank

Done OK past few weeks, but competitors have had huge GWs so need a big points haul before Jan WC...

    Thinking the following:

    A) Aguero --> Adebayor / Bale --> Nani (-4pts)

    B) Aguero --> Sturridge / Walters --> Nani (-4pts)

    C) Aguero --> Adebayor or Sturridge or (Tiote can cover Bale should he not play, but need moar Utd)

    WAT DO?

    Krul
    Brown // Taylor // Vermaelen
    Eagles // Bale // Nani // Silva
    Adebayor // Yakubu(vc) // Van Persie(c)

    Vorm // Walters // McAuley // Wilkinson

Just off the back of a poor week and not looking good again for this GW; I know this isn't the best but any suggestions bearing in mind i've 1 FT and 0.2 in bank.

Would Verm and Wilko to Evans and Jones (-4) be madness?

Verm from back will score more goals than Jones in midfield though Jones will notch few more clean sheets.
Give a though to Brown > Evans as that will take care of Jones' clean sheet and also a whole TV5. I can't see Brown getting many clean sheets.

I assumed wilko>evans will need 0.2 more than what you have in your wallet right now.

I transferred in Valencia and transferred out Bale.
    My Logic was
Valencia v Fulham might do better then Bale v Chelsea. Bale also may be going to play a limited time considering his injury.
    The Illogical part
I am fairly annoyed since I transferred Bale in he got me dam all points and got injured, meanwhile I previously transferred VDV out and Drenthe. This was so I could get Baines! I am blaming Bale for my current predicament of threading water fpl ranking wise.

Anyway...how likely is it that Valencia will start? I am kinda regretting it already!
