With the dust barely settled from the weekend’s action, Gameweek 17 is upon us immediately and we’ve still the small matter of announcing the Round Five fixtures for the Paddy Power Cup V. Before that however, let’s take a minute to reflect on the results from Round Four, which can be viewed right here. The headlines…

A brand new name will be etched onto the mythical Cup, as reigning champ Ninja_Fit_Saints become the fourth and final former winner to meet his match. Mayhey Kid took the scalp 56 – 39, to complete the four-week demise of the Cup royalty.

There’s no stopping Mark though, who dispatched Hassyg 72 – 55 booking his place in the last 64. That score of 72 earned the Scout leader a bronze medal for the week, bettered only by Dyslexia United‘s 73 (- 32 Tommytabs123) and Milton Millieiscos‘ top-scoring 77 (- 46 F.Y.F.B).

Now, onto the fifth round draw… The 32 fixtures are available to peruse right here.

The highest-ranked fantasy manager left in the competition is non other than Der-Hammer95, sitting a hugely impressive 356th overall. He comes up against s4petah, who beat the round three top-scorer at the weekend.

Mark’s fine run looks set to continue, as he has drawn the lowest-ranked manager left in the competition, Mighty Manchester.

Good luck to all 64 participants, and we’ll bring you the results and subsequent fixtures in plenty of time before the Boxing Day Premier League games.

midfield of: Bale Silva Walters Sinclair Hunt, need to play for in midfield this week. nothing in the bank. what the best move i can make? Sell Bale for maybe Adam or Brunt or Larsson. I know i will have to buy him back when he's fit, but i think it could be worth a FT

smells like a top-heavy strikeforce. you may be shorter than gary coleman; because the prospects for: Walters Sinclair Hunt don't look good. That being said, hope I've put my foot in it on your behalf. Not convinced that Bale won't play; the best, non sideways move would be to bring in Larsson. I would bench Walters and Sinclair, can't see City or the Toffees gifting a peno...Hunt, maybe.

I gave up on him this morning. I really really like him as a player but I just thought his cost did not justify his returns. I went with Morrison from Norwhich instead. Here's hoping this decision doesn't bite me in the leg.

one goal in the last 9 he surely has to start scoring soon, but do you need to gamble and make him captain. the odds are he wont score. in GW 18 Blackburn at home i rekon that will be his game.

I don't believe so, it's obvious they don't want to give him a ban. If they did they would have a long time ago. They're acting like people that don't want to give a ban but don't want to look bad for not giving him a ban so they figure stringing this sh*t out will make the masses forget or be ready to be done with the whole dog-and-pony show.

after today's and weekend's trannies, my team for the christmas period:

    vorm/krul

jones, naylor, evans, shotton, brown(almost all of em have amazing fixs)

    silva,drenthe,walters,VDV(ferguson)

    rooney,RVP,Ba

not too worried by ferguson tbh, doubling up on utd defence will mean brown and naylor/shotton on the bench which is enough.

having said that, i will probably get rid of him after gw 17. not taking a 4 pt hit just to get rid of him right now, sorry.

Coyle HAS to start Eagles, doesn't he? Both teams have to go for it in this game. People are telling me to bench him over Sessegnon, dont think I can do that. See a 3-2 type scoreline, whereas i wouldnt be shocked to see a 0-0 between QPR and Sunderland.

Shelvey worth a punt short term. Gomez has awful fixtures. Allen is just another Dyer, fantasy wise.

        Yeah I agree with this.

If it's for 3-4 weeks and you are planning on WCing early, Shelvey is a decent bet ... if not, I'd go Gomez.

I already have Adam but am really leaning towards a punt on Shelvey for December. Just hope he starts games. Look very good at the weekend I thought but a lot of competition on midfield worries me

Gomez is on free kicks and penos isnt he? just ashame Wigans fixtures are the worst possible!

Eagles has best fixtures but Bolton are poor, can see them losing to Blackburn tonight as well.
Wigan have terrible fixtures. Norwich are changing their starting line up more than City

Brunt seems the safest option to me

Can't believe that people are actually selling RVP for Wazza..and I'm saying this as a united fan ..If you want Rooney in your team ,take a hit and play him besides RVP.. RVP is going to score atleast 4 goals in the home fixtures against Wolves and QPR ..now with hernandez back,i seriously doubt that Rooney will outscore him..and imagine having to buy RVP at 13.5 ,,will be very difficult

I doubt Van Persie will play at home to QPR with Fulham away two days later, so he best score 4 against Wolves assuming it does go ahead (pretty sure it will even if next day).

I already did that and may have regretted and I don't think I'll get RVP back anytime soon 🙁 But one thing about Rooney is he's got that assist in him to compliment his goal threat. I know I won't be captaining him every week but the money saved from RVP go a long way elsewhere. Can get me a third power midfielder. Considering owning both bale and VDV (when bale is back).

    Hi guys !
Bench Sessegnon or Enrique ? And why ?
My defenders are : Jagielka, Evans, Simpson, N.Taylor and Enrique.

Which choice is The best in your opinion ?
For The moment i have benched enrique and put Jagielka Evans and Simpson.
    Thanks

would say maybe simpson to spread the risk. yet you have evans in your team so you must have gotten him in with the idea of risking doubling up on united defense so maybe start him because why else did you put him in your team?

Because he is only 4.4 and a Man Utd defender? Don't have to play him every week just because he is there

I'm going for Simpson/Jones/Vermellen with Evans on the bench

    rvp (c), ade, sturridge

    bench: brown, ward, dyer

1 ft and .9 in the bank

how does that team look for the week? and im considering taking a punt on shelvey in for dyer and starting him again of walters. how does that sound? or should i save the transfer?

agreed about walters but not looking to get rid. if he continues not doing much then i'll look to get rid but right now im fine with him besides his fixture this week. thats part of the reason im thinking of getting shelvey in for dyer and starting him this week over walters. think thats a decent punt?

Seriously who to captain this week ??

Rvp ade ba nani mata bale ??

I guess its between Ba and Rvp..

But Rvp is also a rotation risk.. might start on the bench and come on in at 60 minutes if we are still 0-0 or 1-0.. so leanning towards BA right now..

go for the trinity of ade, vdv, and bale. if you have those three you are sure to get most or all of spurs attacking points which should be greater than their defensive returns.
