Less than 48-hours after the end of the previous round of fixtures, the festive schedule serves up a Friday evening “treat” as Gameweek 19 gets underway at the KCOM Staidum.

Hull City’s home form could barely be more encouraging for Everton. The only side yet to chalk up a clean sheet in front of their own supporters, the Tigers also boast the joint-worst home scoring record, netting just nine times in as many matches.

Owned by 5% of Fantasy Premier League managers, Robert Snodgrass is clearly the man most likely to do the damage – the Scot has already served up three double-figure hauls at the KCOM.

Wins against Arsenal and Leicester in the last three have reignited Fantasy interest in Ronald Koeman’s men as the Toffees looks to take advantage of some fine winter fixtures.

With three goals in the last four Gameweeks, Romelu Lukaku has proven a more popular transfer target than Sergio Aguero this week, with over 50,000 FPL managers drafting in the big Belgian ahead of tonight’s deadline.

Koeman moves back to a four-man defence this evening after earning just a fourth clean sheet of the season at Leicester City with a three-man backline. Disappointingly, that sees the 4.0 priced Mason Holgate drop the bench and both Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines reverting to traditional full-back roles.

He'll be 8.8+ by then. Coutinho generally does better in the tougher games.

Don't agree with that, although I'll concede he's not as much of a flat-track runner as others. But his avg is awfully high, isn't it? Will monitor, but will not get in earlier without evidence that he's back on form.

Honestly, I have neither, will see how to deal with it when the time comes. In the last 3 years, I haven't done my plans I made for upcoming weeks for lets say 90%. Could say now that I will sell Ibra when fixtures turn but when he keeps up scoring like he is doing now, I obviously won't sell him then

The matchups for next GW are pretty brutal for me atm.
Just 3 players at home- 2 of them against Chelsea and the other Negredo v Leicester.

Aguero home to Burnley to make matters worse too. I'll need a brand new massive sofa!!
Expecting a big fall in rank with this lot.

Anything I could do to lessen the blow?

    Heaton (mci),
    Jones (whu), Alonso(tot), Walker (CHE).
    Eriksen(CHE), Lallana(sun), Sanchez(bou), Siggy(cry).
    Ibra(whu), Negredo(LEI), Costa(tot),

    Pickford(out), Holebas(sto), Whelan (WAT), Amat(cry).
    1ft, 0.7m in bank..

Yeah, Cabaye could become a great option under Big Sam, who loves a goalscoring mid, I'd monitor him for now, Phillips is a safer option, Cabaye riskier but potentially could pay off more.

Not sure Costa to Aguero is an upgrade this season - should really try to get both and don't forget CL rotation in February... but either way I'd prioritize a one match a week Costa at a 2m or so discount over Aguero.

          • 9 Years

He doesn't really have anyone he could downgrade to get them both in, only way is surgery or losing Ibra/Sanchez/Costa + Siggy. Costa is the one that will hurt least as while he is consistent he doesn't get any big hauls, he's only got into double figures 2/3 times off the top of my head.

But yes ideally KOBRA is the way to go, with Ibra's form and fixtures.

I'll see how Aguero/Costa/Phillips/Cabaye/Siggy go this GW.. but thinking now-

Cabaye (great fixtures and possibly pens now too) - Siggy (has gained 0.3m tho and been really good) +
Aguero(Dare not to go without him n my matchups next week are terrible anyway- Costa (Mr reliable but not amazing)

Good call, I am also closely observing how things go this gameweek in regards to possibly going Kun Costa Ibra/ KOBRA. My main worry about that is how weak it would make my midfield, would go Sanchez, Eriksen, Zaha (Phillips when he goes AFCON) and Stanislas, alternative is bench fodder for Hazard, upgrade Kingsley to Jones and go 433 with KOBRA and 5 defensive options.

When i was mulling over my transfers today i thought to myself i would love to bank a 3rd transfer right now
I know this has probably been thought of before but i reckoned the AOA chip could be replaced with a transfer banker chip it would be a lot more useful

i.e. when you pull the chip you can bank a 3rd free transfer if you already have 2 banked

At least you could save 4 points more often than not AOA will cost you points and you could give your team a nice revamp with 3 free transfers

My WC KOBRA team would be

      Heaton-Jaku
      Alonso-Jones-Brunt-Holebas-Love
      Cout-Lallana-Pedro-Phillips-Rodriguez
      Kobra

Looks real bad. Don't think you can do an effective Kobra unless you have SV 107m+.. mine is around 104 and it isnt gonna work tbh

Maybe I have to downgrade all defence into guys like smith nyom which would realistically give me 2 points every game..

Not too sure if kobra is even much worth, ibra and aguero could start blanking for no reason and I'd be clueless if I take them out or wait, happened before.. Guess I'll just tune in this site and do what everyone else does xD

    The KOBRA? Had a look, not going to happen but this is on the money;

    Mannone / Jaku

    Brunt / Dawson / Ake / Friend / Amat

    Sanchez / Hazard / Lallana / Phillips / Sims

    Kun / Costa / Ibra

    Hmmm... nah

Who are your defenders? Snoddy's fixtures are awful. I have him but gonna offload him soon. Stanislas? You can upgrade your defense with that money.

Also I don't think you need Hazard. Eriksen/ Coutinho will free up more funds for your defense.

Snodgrass on all set pieces - even on a poor side he has managed participation in 50% of their goals so far (8/16) so for the price looks a solid 4th midfielder regardless of opposition as Hull will rarely win anyway but if they lose 3-1 and he gets the assist or goal you won't care about the team result. Don't own him myself and frankly think Phillips has the potential to be as if not more explosive but he's a fine pick Snodgrass and reliable enough in the 4th slot.

Is Firmino, Origi AND Lallana against Sunderland overkill? I brought Lallana in for Sigurdsson to avoid the price drop (which never happened) but unless I do Firmino to Phillips and Origi to Aguero now, it means I have 3 Liverpool against Sunderland, but on the flipside I won't spend 8 points.

I'd be looking at defenders that you give you the best cs potential with a goal threat as an added bonus.

McAuley is still well priced. Ake is averaging over 5 ppg and likes to get forward.

    How does this look:
    Pickford Grant
    Holgate, Alonso, Holebas, Cedric, McAuley
    Sanchez, Hazard, Lallana, Snodgrass, Phillips
    Aguero, Ibra, Anichebe

I know but bringing in Aguero is more of a priority as the others in defence do play and have good fixtures. If I do it, I would then be able to bring in a Palace keeper for Pickford and Mannone for Grant if he rises (which is looking likely) and leaves on the 3rd. Holebas would then be on my list to go - probably for Ake.

Same I don't know why either. This is the first season I've actually had him and I've had him twice in between his suspensions. This is my worst season by far because my team is too weak to accommodate him. Just not worth the money for me and even if he does score 1 every game, I'd rather have 2 solid players than have to rely on aguero and a weak mid.

With the inconsistency of the mid-priced strikers KOBRA is looking more and more tempting but a lot can change in a gameweek. That being said a number of different options have tempted me.

      A. Aguero and Lallana in for Costa and Hazard -4
      B. Aguero and Stanislas in for Defoe and Hazard -4 (KOBRA)
      C. Aguero, bench fodder (4.2), Jones in for Defoe, Hazard and Kingsley -8 (KOBRA) (go 433)
      D. Leave Defoe, Hazard, Costa in my team

Do any of these look good?

Team is: Heaton Alonso Cedric Gibson (Ake and Kingsley) Hazard Eriksen Sanchez Zaha *Phillips in if/when Zaha goes AFCON* (Morrison) Defoe Ibra costa

A is insane, honestly. B and C are psychotic. D makes some sense if Defoe is switched for Big Ben but even Zlatan/Costa looks like overkill to me.

I really don't get why you guys are obsessed with Aguero and, even worse, this CIA thing. I only want one of them or two at the very most.

I honestly think that many managers are incapable of seeing beyond the points scored by 2 or 3 players. It is the points scored by your whole team/squad that count. Why should anyone care if Aguero and Costa outscore their strikers if they a regaining that ground and more through 8 other players?

You CANNOT do well (meaning top 1k) in FPL without averaging 5ppg+ (or very close to it) from defenders, Jinswick. I'd have thought you of all people would know that.

Cheers for the advice Ruth and Jinswick. Ruth I can see now that b and c would be fairly psychotic but surely A is tempting in the short term with Kun having Burnley, Lallana having Sunderland and Chelsea having Spurs. D with Tekkers is tempting too. I am only considering madness like B and C is I am on the catch up after a number of captaincy fails/dumb/unlucky transfers.
