Driving home for Christmas, we present you with the festive ScoutCast. Obviously only for those without passengers – we wouldn’t want to inflict this on unsuspecting souls.

A stocking brimming with the usual merriment, the episode comes with the annual added bonus of hearing myself and Mark exchanging “ironic” gifts as an act of “goodwill” one more.

Along the way we deliberate the Robin Van Persie helpline, the revolving doors being worked by Gareth Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart and the perils of double gameweek investment.

    Guys,
    Need advice but different kind

    80% of my rivals in the mini league have bale and surrridge.
    What should be my tactic? Get them not to loose out on the points or look for differentials?
    I guess have to get bale cause of the dgw.

    I am currently 5th out of 11

      Get in whoever you think will score the most points, Sturridge currently has the second highest form behind Nani and reasonable fixtures so I think you'd miss him. Saying that I really need to transfer him in myself

      if you want them, get them in but not just because they have them. if you think they will get more points than your 2 players then do. they both look good for the next few weeks

          I would as long as you have 2/3 other differentials then it's always worth matching the key plalyers imo.

      Tiote isn't a bad choice for a 5th midfielder - His PPG is 3.1, higher than a lot of other more attacking players in that price bracket. Presumably you'd normally play Gomez who has more attacking threat - I don't think there's much to lose by playing him over Tiote, even if it is at Old Trafford.

      That said, i'd put N Taylor in ahead of both and hope he starts.

    Thinking of Brown to Shotton (ggod move?) as he has better fixtures and frees up some cash and also maybe Dyer out, but for who?

    I have only .4 in the bank and want to keep it for Sturridge to Ba next week.

      Good team, not overly keen on Sinclair but for his price he is decent. Overall looks solid.

      I would probably stick with SDmalling but only because I have been burnt by Evans before.

    City dont keep clean sheets at home and the next few games are:

    So basically they have 3 away games and 2 hard home fixtures. Is it work shipping Kompany for Skrtel/Enrique or Huth for that matter. Any kind words lads?

    Team is linked. Brought in Evans and Nani for Samba & Mata this week (4 pt hit)

    Looking ahead to GW19 presuming there are no injuries with £600k in the bank I can afford to upgrade Ward to ShawX (and grab a potential cleanie home to Wigan followed by another potential one away at Blackburn) but with a double GW to follow would I be better off with Hibbert?

    Everton have WBA away on GW19 and then the DGW with a home game against Bolton followed by Spurs away. I can see Everton conceding v WBA, potential for a cleanie v Bolton but getting a spanking at Spurs.

    Who do you think will score more pts those two weekends out of ShawX and Hibbo?

    Walker (nor) - Norwich only had a blank 2/17 games so cs looks unlikely
    Brown (EVE) - Everton not scoring much, chance of a cs

    Merry Christmas everyone, good luck to all you all over boxing day, in the Fantasy Cup and to those of you in PPC. Now barring injuries or suspension I plan on doing nothing after this GW. And all being well (namely I'm away and no guarantee of internet access in time for DGW) having 2 frees ready for it, which of these options looks best.

    a) Valencia ➡ Drenthe/Rodwell, Fellaini/Osman and Ba ➡ Ade
    b) Valencia ➡ VdV and Ba ➡ a 6.4 or less striker

    surely option a offers a more secure points total, but b gives me greater differential

    In the discussion on whether to captain RVP or Rooney/Nani people seem to be forgetting that Wigan has never taken a single point against Utd in the PL (right), only scored 4 in 6 seasons, whilst United have scored 16 goals in their last 4 matches against them. Its the best opposition United can get, hands down.
