Dramatic events at the top of our Hall of Fame provided a kick-start for a series of hot topics, all discussing how to work towards a rise up the rankings to achieve mini-league glory.

This also spilt over into our community tournaments’ round-up where rivalries are hotting up at the top of our moderators and contributors league.

Meanwhile, our community articles focus on the best forwards to consider and our Members table section looks specifically at the best headed goal scorers and some under the radar assist kings.

The Community Articles

Premium striker options came under the watchful eye of community writer Oddjobleff with his look at how form, fixtures and captaincy potential can guide our search for the perfect hitman.

There are also some heavyweight forward options mentioned in YMA’s latest look at the upcoming Gameweek’s best captaincy options based on form, fixtures and clean sheet data.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

The demise of Ville Ronka lasted just one week as our long term Hall of Fame leader recaptured top spot after relinquishing it temporarily to Jay Egersdorrf. With a Gameweek 21 tally of 106, he once again lays claim to Fantasy Football Scout’s most consistent manager, according to our latest HoF update.

Another doing well is Knut Hebaek, who is top of the overall rankings. The Norwegian based manager was interviewed in his native language on Youtube this week, but luckily Scandinavian community regular Johqvist was on hand to translate.

For those looking to emulate Ville and Knut’s success, we canvassed your views on achieving mini-league glory.

There were plenty of you already on the way there according to our look back at some of your stellar Gameweek 21 scores in our latest Rough with the Smooth round up.

This also highlighted some poor souls who made an array of regrettable decisions going into last weekend, including a transfer exit for Chelsea’s two-goal Marcos Alonso. Mlexer popped up later in the week to find out what other blunders you had committed in the transfer market this season.

Ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, there was a raft of advice being handed out on the key transfer targets that could inspire a rise up the rankings and mini-league places.

Applebonkers added some more analysis to our Scoutcast discussion this week about why Burnley’s Tom Heaton has emerged as one of the all time great Fantasy keepers.

Across the midfield, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli are among your top picks, according to our look at Spurs’ assets.

Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, who is edging nearer to his first Premier League start following a long injury lay-off, is another candidate for your midfield line-ups, while Kessler 296 has Everton schemers Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas under consideration.

Alexis Sanchez remains hugely popular, but Hurrikane wonders if the Chilean’s captaincy potential is hindered with Olivier Giroud’s likely start against Burnley this weekend, after recovering from a toe injury.

Incidentally it is worth mentioning that the Frenchman’s return was predicted by our resident medical expert Facer a day before it was confirmed he had returned to training.

For those looking to free up funds at the back to stock up on more expensive attacking options Jafooli took a look at some of the best budget defenders.

Finally, this week saw Jac the Cat join our moderator team. He has been a community regular for a number of years and takes up his new role after already helping us behind the scenes with our recent redesign.

The Members Tables

Assist potential is key for midfielders and there are plenty of under the radar options to consider in this sister table to my goals imminent rankings.

I’ve also created a table that seeks to locate attackers who could exploit teams that concede a lot of headed goal attempts, entitled ‘On Me Head’.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

The Fantasy Chili Bowl contest reaches the semi-final stage this weekend, according to Baby B’s latest report from the organising committee.

There’s no change at the top of Red Lightning’s two leagues. Raul Seleccion continues at the summit of the Top 10K Any Season competition, while Ogie, who is the new leader of the FFScout Members league, once again dominates the January to May League.

Its also business as usual at the top of my Millionaires League, for those with a Gameweek 12 rank over the million mark, where Gilles Wanlin is first, closely followed by Krak Krak.

In TorresMagic‘s Last Man Standing competition, PaulWilsonPickett hit the top score in Gameweek 21 with 122. There are now 799 teams qualified after 90 were eliminated when the safety score was set at 60.

Speaking of Torres Magic, he has taken a comfortable 25-point lead at the summit of the FFScout Moderators and Contributors league.

However, second place Mark used this week’s Scoutcast to pile on the pressure, prompting the Last Man Standing custodian to seek advice on how to keep the boss at bay.

Finally, Hutch_James dropped by to invite the community’s rugby fans to try out a spot of Fantasy Six Nations.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spreadsheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

    Heaton - Foster
    Baines* - McAuley - Chambers - Kone* - Amat
    Sanchez - Hazard - Eriksen - Philips - Capoue
    Ibra - Costa - Defoe

    1 x FT, 0.0m ITB

    A. Kone > Holgate (in case Baines doesn't play)
    B. Save FT (preferred)

Does a Baines no show make Holgate playing more likely?

Just got him in. Think he's a great differential.. only concern is minutes, but the recent 90 mins convinced me. Will be a sure starter in a run of great fixtures imo. I have Philips too.

So stUck on this hazard/Sanchez captain choice.

I've thought about dropping hazard for weeks but not pulled trigger. So think hazard captain for me doesn't preform he is out.

Is it worth taking a risk on transferring Costa in today. I'd have to transfer Aguero out which would free up cash to improve rest of team.
