An early Christmas present for 32 fantasy managers is news of their opponent going into the sixth round of the Paddy Power Cup V. Before that, let’s see how the fifth round panned out…

The full set of results can be viewed right here, and for Mark they don’t make for good reading. As Premier League clubs do in real life, he lost to Mighty Manchester. It was a nail-biter however, with just a single point the difference.

Three ties were closer still and had to be decided on overall rank, which saw jinswick, Dyslexia United and Declan progress at the expense of Dr_Heckle, freeeasybets and fitzuation respectively.

Top-seed Der-Hammer95 powered through 78 – 66 against s4petah, improving his rank to 219th in the world.

Onto the round six fixtures then, which will be played out over the upcoming Gameweek 18 which starts on Boxing Day…

      Hard to say. RVP should do well, but Ba is a strong player who can score against anyone. Overall i prefer your line-up. I am sure RVP will start but maybe he will finally get that bad tackle, who knows.

            That would pretty much be my team too. Not sure Jones is ready to be 1st choice CB at international level just yet but by the Euros I hope he will have cemented his place. At this moment I'd probably have Jags or Cahill in there and Jones on the bench

          Top tip for cooking your Christmas turkey tomorrow:

          Cook it breast side DOWN. This allows the juices run into the breast and keep it moist.

          Then turn over for the last 5-10 minutes if you want the skin on the breast to be crispy.

          I tried this a couple of years ago and was a bit suspicious seeing as the tip came from a friend of mine who knew sod all about cooking, but it really does work.

            No, no, no! Turn it upside down for the first half of cooking. That way the juices distribute equally. I do this with chickens every time I roast one and it works every time.

            Having said that, we've got pork tomorrow 🙂

              I've tried different turning chickens over half way through cooking, and that works well, but turkey meat seems to be thicker, even if it's less fattier so the last 5-10 minutes works better with turkey because it takes more time for the juices to permeate through.

              You can just use a thermometer to make sure it's cooked through, or if you don't have one just cut it and prise apart the meat at its thickest and if it's pink then it isn't done yet.

            Does work. Also cooking on a bed of onions will keep moisture in the oven and therefore in the turkey 😉

                I usually stuff my turkey with celery and onions along with a few herbs, and that helps keep it moist too.

                Roughly quartered but covering the whole base of the tray so they don't get pushed out of the way. I didn't use a rack this year (I did an early dinner for my house mates last week), Just put the turkey on the onions in a deep tray. If you have enough onions the turkey is still suspended above the juices. Came out lovely.

          Want to bring in Nani and Sturridge for VDV and Yakubu but i’m .2 short so which option is better:

          1) VDV > Nani, Yakubu > Studge, Krul > Sorenson (8 point hit)
          2) Silva > Nani, Yakubu > Studge only one 4 point hit
          3) some other move?
