Aaron Ramsey is ruled out of Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea and Olivier Giroud requires a late fitness test. Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels is still sidelined for a trip to Everton, while Virgil van Dijk could be out for up to three months with an ankle injury.

Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are set for late fitness tests ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Chelsea, though Arsene Wenger expects both to be available. Aaron Ramsey is ruled out for three weeks with a calf complaint.

Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has been ruled out for the season after suffering knee ligament damage in training. Charlie Daniels is also unavailable for the trip to Goodison, though Max Gradel is back in contention after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Calum Chambers has a chance of returning for Middlesbrough’s clash with Spurs, though Gaston Ramirez and George Friend are still unavailable.

Virgil van Dijk has been ruled out for two to three months with an ankle complaint, while James Ward-Prowse and Jay Rodriguez will continue to be assessed ahead of Southampton’s clash with West Ham, Claude Puel has confirmed. Meanwhile, cub-record signing Manolo Gabbiadini looks in line for a debut after arriving from Napoli on transfer deadline day.

Xherdan Shaqiri remains sidelined for Stoke’s clash with West Brom, while Glen Johnson is expected to miss out again. Wilfried Bony and Mame Biram Diouf are back in the squad after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Leon Britton is back in training and comes into contention for Swansea’s trip to the Etihad. New signing Jordan Ayew won’t be available, though, as he is still turning out for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Sunderland new boys Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson will be “in and around the squad” for the trip to Palace, David Moyes has confirmed. Papy Djilobodji serves the second of a four-match suspension.

Steven Defour is sidelined for Burnley’s trip to Watford due to a hamstring problem. New boys Robbie Brady and Ashley Westwood are both available to make their debuts, Sean Dyche has confirmed.

Marco Silva has confirmed that new signings Alfred N’Diaye and Kamil Grosicki are available for Hull’s home encounter against Liverpool. Dieumerci Mbokani is also in contention after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, though Lazar Markovic cannot play against his parent club.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Need to leave out one of:
    Alonso Baines Coleman Brunt
    Phillips Coutinho Sanchez Alli Eriksen
    Lukaku Ibra

Decision is currently Alonso, what do you think?

    Pretty stuck here:

    a) Giroud & Hazard -> Costa & Firminio (-4)

    b) This week: Hazard -> Mane
    Next week: Holebas -> 4.1m def & Giroud -> Costa (-4)

Carroll just, just because both Southampton first choice CBs are out and he could have a field day if he is on it and gets some service.

In general the bookies favour Sanchez at around 2/1 anytime. Andy around the 5/2-3/1 area.

any thoughts on this great minds. Have 2 FT's and 1.8 ITB. most likely just doing 1 this week and rolling the other. Team is currently:

    Foster (Pickford)
    Alonso Baines Holebas (Pieters, Amat)
Sanchez, Phillips, Lallana, Alli (De Roon)
    Ibra, Costa, Defoe

    a) Amat to Brunt
    b) Holebas to Coleman
    c) Lallana to Mane
    d) Defoe to Jesus
    e) Alexis to KDB

I know that last one sounds crazy, but with Chelsea this weekend and 2 blanks in 3 after, it may work out, or may allow me to continue plummeting in the ranks 🙂

    cheers!

With an eye on the upcoming blanks...

    Aguero + Giroud + Cedric ---> Costa + Lukaku + Coleman

Same. It's annoying as I want all 3 players but I dont have the funds to do the transfers on their own.

I need to drop Aguero to release the funds.

I'm behind in my league from the leader by about 100 points. The top-3, which are all pretty close together, all have Sanchez or Kane in their team. My team is as follows:

    Heaton (Jaku)
    Baines Brunt Alonso (Yoshi Holgate)
Sanchez Coutinho Alli Zaha (T. Carroll)
    Costa Kane Ibra

So my question is, now that I'm trailing with 100 points, should I take risks on my captain choice (not going Sanchez/Kane when I probably should), or should I just play what feels best for me and not care about the others?

The other guys in my league all have decent teams, but they can't match the quality that my team has at the moment. I have been 1st or 2nd in our league in the past 5 gameweeks, so I reckon it's okay to play my own game and be able to catch the top players?

Guess you've made your bed with all your hits? 100 is quite a lot, but I still wouldn't go too mad on differentials. If they 'can't match your quality' just do what you want.

need opinion on this pick :
    Grant or Randolph? both away
grant is in better form but wba is good at home so probably will score (and I already haave brunt and philips). Randolph is ok and SOU is not in some great atacking form.

And what about de bruyne for (C) ahead of alli, kane, ibra???

Giroud must go out (blanks and will lose spot in team). Jesus is not that nailed coz aguero is still best forward there. And city will blank gw26 and probably gw28

      Lallana has Hull so no
A is too punty plus City blanks in GW 26 so B but I would sell Gru for Benteke

I'd risk A as Jesus can be a game changer. Or on the bench ) But with latest interest of Kun from Real...

    A) Carroll

    B) Benteke

    Appreciate your thoughts!

Who are you getting rid of?

B is safer, even if A is safe from blanks he's injury prone.

Sorry for repost, but first season and need opinions on this

I'm behind in my league from the leader by about 100 points. My strategy for my first season was to take hits and build the value of my team, even though I knew I would fall behind.

Opinions of experienced players would be appreciated!

It depends how good you think your opponents are. Do they look at sites like these for instance? If not then just saying the normal game, not doing anything risky like captain selection should see you alright. The blanks and dgw's offer enough opportunity to overtake them.

Not sure, but I don't think they do. It's just for fun between the guys in our football team. Thanks for your reply.
