As the official Fantasy Premier League version begun this week with over two million hopefuls, our very own Paddy Power Cup V was down the last 32. With no virtual coin toss nonsense to worry about here, let’s see how it panned out…

Top-score this week went to Mr Bungle, who battered Chris H 67 – 35. That was the widest margin of victory for the round by quite some distance.

In doubling his opponent’s score was, Declan came closest to that 32-point gulf, as he bossed lowest-scoring jinswick 44 – 22.

For the first time this season there wasn’t a single draw, with runty‘s 50 – 49 triumph over GreenWindmill the tightest affair.

Der-Hammer95 continued his fine form to reach the last 16 as the highest ranked fantasy manager in the tournament. His 54 – 38 drubbing of Peadarb was enough for another green arrow and 181st in the world.

The fixtures for the seventh round – taking place in Gameweek 19 – will be announced in due course, along with important Quarter-Final news.

Congratulations to this week’s winners, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage.

Nah not all. Modric completely flatters to decieve.
I bet Carricks Stats at Spurs are better than Modric's.

Top midfielders score goals, get assists and contribute more to general forward play. He also crucially lacks pace.

I'm not saying Modric is a poor player, far from it, I think hes decent. However, he wouldnt improve any of the top teams.

I can name at least 10 poorer strikers who are regular starters ->

            1) Ngog

He played centrally for Boca before joining Benfica, and they put him out on the left to replace Di Maria. He's been used more centrally this year though, and often quite deep. ZonalMarking has been all over it.

You want to keep Yak but lose Ba? Interesting, though obviously Ba is off to ACON soon. Also think I'd start BAE over Raylor (in fact I would, since that's what I've done).

Anyway if you want to Ba - Ade with 2 free, so you need to find 0.4. Maybe Walters- Etherington? Otherwise it will have to Mata out or Kompany out.

Now its down to Raylor > Shotton or Walters to Drenthe

Raylor can be an offensive threat, but CS are going to be hard to come by without Saylor. I bought him at 4.0, so unlikely to be able to afford him again

Walters is oop and on penalties, and again I bought at 6.0, so would probably not be able to afford him again (and drenthe is a punt in my opinion)

I wish I had done this last week before ade rose .1.. coulda done Al-Habsi > Sorenson and avoided this headache!

I have Bale and getting Ade too. I think im gonna go Bale captain if he continues up front . And the full backs look better with the new formation- getting much more forward.
I would like to know if anyone has stats on how the congested schedules affect scores. Is there more or less scoring.

Question about price changes: if a flagged player (phil jones) is on 155% to fall, does this mean that he falls when the yellow flag is removed? Or does it go back to 0%?

Disappearance of a flag does not cause a price fall. If the price falls, it falls because of transfers out and at the time when all of the price changes happen (don't know the exact time). When a flag is removed, a player becomes protected and stays at 0% for 7 to 10 days or so.

Great comment from a Liverpool fan on the Guardian article about there game with Blackburn:

"In the summer we needed to buy superior versions of Spearing, maxi, Kuyt and mereiles. Instead we bought the geordie Kenwyne Jones, the poor man's/rich fool's Adam Johnson, a club footed Tom Cleverley and the scottish Andy Reid."

    He also says, about Adam:

"but for his left foot he'd barely be championship standard. His off the ball skillset is nonexistent."

    So valid.

Some time ago it was Benitez who was to blame. So he was fired. After that it was the owners. So they sold the club. After that it was Roy Hodgson. So he was fired as well. Who's to blame now? Surelly not King Kenny 🙂

But no worries, Liverpool still have the quality for top 10 and in January they can fund new transfers by selling Carroll for his real value, 5-7m.

Ur gona have to ship either silva or nani for bale and upgrade Evans. If I had to pick one to ship I would prob edge towards silva however i personally think silva is a season keeper.

Or you could downgrade Walters to drenthe and upgrade Evans and go without bale. But that would be very risky.

He was having a good old argument with some Liverpool fans after the Blackburn draw. Undoubtedly bored them into submission.

I really could do with getting Bale in this week. My midfield is: Silva, Mata, Valencia, Drenthe and Allen. Who should I get rid off for Bale, I could wait a week and do Mata but chelsea have nice fixtures, while city don't.

How does it work with price falls and injured players? Think I`ve read somewhere that players who are unable to play because of injury are protected from price fall? That can't be right? I sold O'Hara today because of possible price fall.

Do it regardless if you can get in Gallas and more importantly Bale for the DGW. Sounds almost like a no-brainer to me

Jags over Baines for the DGW?

I really fancy Baines to score big but squeezing the extra 2.3m would mean a 4-pointer and a worse team-balance overall. Arrgghhhh!

I wouldn't be too bothered about everton defenders, imo it's not really a dgw for them as they won't keep a cleanse away at spurs anyway (likely only get 1 point from that game). Except Baines, but even he is not really that tempting for me.

Guys appreciate some advice on the following:

    Vorm (Howard)
    Jones Simpson Walker (Wilkinson) (Evans)
    Drenthe Bale Silva Nani (Allen)
RVP Adebayor Ba (0.0M in the bank)

What would you say is the best move to make this week with 1 free transfer?

    1) Ba to Odemwingie or Morison (Anyone 7.2M or under)
    2) Ba and Evans to Sturridge and Shotton (4 point hit)
    3) Save the transfer and make two transfers in the next gameweek?

I would do sturridge and shotton. Or maybe just wilkinson to shotton. But I think sturridge is good to have over the next few.

Appreciate the response. I can only do Ba to Sturridge if I raise 0.2M that's why I'm thinking to get rid of Evans and have Shotton. Its a tough one. I could also just do Evans to Shotton and hold off the Sturridge transfer for now?
