As the official Fantasy Premier League version begun this week with over two million hopefuls, our very own Paddy Power Cup V was down the last 32. With no virtual coin toss nonsense to worry about here, let’s see how it panned out…

Top-score this week went to Mr Bungle, who battered Chris H 67 – 35. That was the widest margin of victory for the round by quite some distance.

In doubling his opponent’s score was, Declan came closest to that 32-point gulf, as he bossed lowest-scoring jinswick 44 – 22.

For the first time this season there wasn’t a single draw, with runty‘s 50 – 49 triumph over GreenWindmill the tightest affair.

Der-Hammer95 continued his fine form to reach the last 16 as the highest ranked fantasy manager in the tournament. His 54 – 38 drubbing of Peadarb was enough for another green arrow and 181st in the world.

The fixtures for the seventh round – taking place in Gameweek 19 – will be announced in due course, along with important Quarter-Final news.

Congratulations to this week’s winners, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage.

Genuinely need some advice here chaps!

    Vorm (Krul)
    Tierney Kompany Simpson (Brown,Wilkinson)
    Drenthe Bale Nani Silva (Allen)
    Rooney Ba RVP(c)

    0.3 in the bank

Now my defence is in tatters, was thinking of getting Huth in for Brown and downgrading Ba->?
On the other hand should i just do Ba->Sturridge?
    Or do nothing at all!

Shotton or MacAuley? McAuley obviously guarantees starts, but I think Shotton has potential to earn more points (if he starts regularly).

Shotton. Plays OOP some matches, Stoke have better fixtures and are likely to keep more cleansheets.

Only problem is to afford Bale it either has to be Silva that goes, or I'll need to lose one of Verm, Rooney, RVP or Ade. Don't fancy losing any of the strikers this week with their fixtures and Verm is one of only 2 of my defenders that looks like starting this week.

Until I play the January WC:

    A) Evans + Silva
    or
    B) BAE + Mata

    Rest of the team is:
    Krul / Vorm
    Jones / Kompany / Enrique / Simpson
    Nani / Bale / Drenthe / Dyer
    RVP / Sturridge / Ba

        Hmmm interesting. thanks.

I don't know what to do with Ba, he's in such good form but he has two tough away games & going away to the ACoN. Ba > Sturridge was my plan, but after the Liverpool game.

Don't really like getting rid of Mata either because Chelsea have good games. But I think Bale is essential at the moment.

He's the most reliable form of City attacking coverage as their points are so spread out and he's so consistent even if not in huge numbers. He's worth 9.5 but not 10.5, so selling him feels like a pretty permanent move.

Personally if I do get rid it'll be to get Aguero in, not sure how much faith I have in him for his price atm though.

Hey fellas, A few pointers before I take a road trip to Dubai next morning. Team for next GW is :

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Assou-Ekotto. Kompany. Jones (Simpson. Wilkinson)
    Nani. Silva. Bale. Walters. (Dyer)
    RVP. Sturridge. Adebayor.

Subs alright? Or should I play Ruddy who has FUL at home? Anything else I should change?

Looks likely, Ferguson said he was out for 2 weeks after the game.

Obviously just how much you can read into that is anyone's guess but I wouldn't expect him to play, not with Rio, Jones and Smalling supposedly all back.

Do you not have enough to do Evans - Gallas Jinswick? At least you will have more defensive coverage I think over the course of the season Silva will be more consistent than Bale although I'm in the nice position of being able to have both so I understand ur agony over the decision I wouldn't like to take Silva out nor would I like to be without Bale at the mo

I agree. I would be very surprised to see him benched, particularly following the dropped points against Wolves.

However, with other good captaincy options, I am not sure I am going to skipper him.

Although, he could end up like Freddy Kanoute. Good season for West Ham --> moves to Spurs --> does very well for a few months --> goes to ACON --> barely scores for Spurs again.

What should be my priority for this game week?

    1. Ba > Adebayor
    or
    2. Evans > BAE

Team at the moment for GW19 (BANK = 3.0m, 1 free transfer):

    Vorm(TOT)
    Enrique(NEW) Evans(BLA) Jones(BLA)
    Silva(sun) Nani(BLA) Bale(swa) Drenthe(wba)
    RVP(QPR) Ba(liv) Sturridge(AST)
subs - Hennessey, McAuley, Simpson, B.Johnson

Suppose it comes down to how well you expect Ba to do at Anfield. Personally i think Adebayor may out point (or at least match) him this GW. Can i cope with McAuley(EVE) coming in for Evans? Or is a Spurs clean sheet more likely than a goal or two from Ade? In which case i can bring in BAE this week and give the in form Ba another game. I suppose i could just make both changes and take a 4 point hit although that seems a little too extravagant!

You think a 4 point hit is wise given these crazy days? Felt so lucky to get through the last GW with a green arrow, especially after i did Baines > Evans ðŸ™

Feels like i'd be tempting fate taking a hit!

I have a similar situation. Mine is not so pressing in terms of defensive injuries so I am going for 1.

In fact I would still do Ba to Ade in your position. Mcauley has got a decent fixture and if you can't play him at home vs. Everton, when can you?

I kind of agree with you but i don't go for all this 'if you can’t play him at home vs. xxxxx, when can you?'

Just because a player has one of his easier fixtures doesn't mean you are duty bound to play them, especially if you think more points could be on offer elsewhere. Sometimes it just helps the standard of your regular starting XI to have a cheap bench player or two!

I just think that it is fortunate that Mcauley does have a good fixture as it means you don't have to make an unnecessary defensive transfer. Instead you can make the, by your own admission and my agreement, better transfer of Ba to Ade.

OOP is the way forward in this game for me.

I have Jones, Walters and Shotton. As long as Jones can start playing CM again then I'll effectively have a team that in reality would look like:

    ----------------------Vorm-------------------------
    --------------------Enrique------------------------
    ------Shotton Jones Silva Nani Bale-----
    ---------Walters Ba RVP Adebayor-------

A 3-4-3 in FF. But using the players actual playing position in games is a 1-5-4 with players picking up clean sheet points and scoring more points for goals for being OOP.

    b) Save the transfer and hope at least one of JEvans or Wilko starts
    c) JEvans & Silva -> BAE & Bale (4 point hit)

    Verm, JEvans, Wilko
    Nani, Silva, Ramsey, Sinclair

I'd say it's part of the reason. But the main reason is he's not doing much personally either, whereas at Wigan he did. AVL's fixtures do pick up soon, but the only one I'd consider from AVL would be Bongy...
