Deadline passed, we’ve just the one match to distract us while we ponder the merits of our latest tinkerings. It’s off to Anfield for what is traditionally a cracker, as Liverpool face Newcastle – the Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to soak up the match events as they happen…

The team news is in and there are few surprises amongst them. With Luis Suarez twiddling his thumbs after putting his one finger to use at Craven Cottage, Kenny Dalglish recalls Craig Bellamy in tandem with Newcastle old boy Andy Carroll. The script is there, can the big Geordie deliver?

Liverpool’s other change has Jay Spearing make a return, with Maxi Rodriguez making way. He joins Steven Gerrard on the bench.

As for Newcastle, they make just one change with Haris Vuckic drafted in for Leon Best who is amongst the subs. Demba Ba shakes off a “little knock” to his knee to lead the line, carrying the hopes of the travelling Magpies faithful and the expectations of plenty of Fantasy managers. Enjoy the game.

  As far as a double for Tottenham goes, it's really quite a good one, but in the sense that all double gameweeks are overhyped on this site I aggree.

I've 2 FT for the GW and I want 2 Spurs players to complement Bale.

I know it's obvious going for VDV and Ade, but that would require a 4 point hit taking out a preferred defender.

Might gamble on Defoe instead of Adebayor.

    Modric is another differential for the DGW, obviously not long term. Don't really want BAE, Walker overpriced. Gallas is an option, just has a terrible injury record.

  High risk imo. You've seen Ade's shooting stats. Hard to overlook. One of the drawbacks of playing expensive defenders, I guess.

  Personally would have the funds to to that. But Im thinking about going for BAE or Walker instead. The new formations Spurs played last week did not let VDV to close to goal and the Full backs were really high, since they were playing without wingers. Also could see at least a CS from the 2 games.

  Defoe instead of Adebayor is stupid imo, what is the chances of him playing both games? You're bringing in a single gameweek player at best. I would suggest Modric as a stronger option if we believe he will continue to have Parker AND Sandro behind him.

      My hunch is no, I think he'd be ballsy enough to throw your Gravatar or Welbz in there; but most likely Park as I think he will Hawk Hoilett if he even plays. I really don't think SAF is concerned defensively. He only concerns himself with back-4 business and height against balls in the box.
