FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Results and Quarter-Final Draws

We take some time this evening to find out who has made it through to the quarter-finals of our two Premier League cup competitions.

Topping the bill among the last eight ties is a Live Hall of Fame top ten derby between Mark, whose rank of 297 makes him the highest-placed remaining manager, and the 423-ranked My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg). While Mark has the rank advantage, Peter’s second placing in the Live Hall of Fame, compared to Mark’s sixth spot, could see him prevail.

Choppers13, who conquered Patio Kev in round five, takes on Team Fosu-Mensah, who is at 3,474 – 2,506 places behind his top 1,000-ranked opponent.

The third quarter-final looks likely to be another close affair, with Sleepysi ranked just 960 behind 1,192-placed Fouad Khan.

Given the current rank of the other six managers through, both 364,588-placed K3lviN and 229,821-ranked The Shaman will be breating a sigh of relief as they face each other in a clash of the competition’s lowest-ranked remaining managers by some distance.

The full quarter-finals draw can be found here.

Choppers13 is the Members cup’s highest ranked-manager – and the only one still in both competitions. He has, on the face of it, a far easier tie in the Members cup, when he takes on 132,642-ranked Barwood.

The giant-killing exploits of 46,996-placed rogerbarton have taken him into the quarter-finals. Fresh from seeing off an 88th-ranked Pukka in round four, Roger defeated 20,109-placed Dr Ennet in the final 16 to set up an encounter with aspern, another higher- ranked manager, who sits in 12,763,

Cheltnamshire lalala, who currently sits at 3,056 and defeated community writer Kryten in the last 16, will square up to 59,241-ranked Malaikat Jahad.

Elsewhere, 13,579-placed Dynamic is the favourite in his quarter-final tie with Thecrystalball, who is the contest’s lowest-ranked manager at 171,998.

The full quarter final round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes, click this link.

Gabbi seems the one most likely compare to every other attacker in the template i say

It's crazy and unnecessary really as there are cheap defenders that can be used as enablers, no need for big bad Vic, waste of an attacking spot on BB!

Ayew is the cheapie I was looking at but probably going to ship out Kane for Jesus and have a better 8th attacker (Rashford, Gabbi, Llorente Defoe) for BB in 37.
I've Gestede stinking up my team atm and no wildcard.

agreed. But even if you need someone in that price bracket, i see better options in Barnes and if you can afford it Ayew (5.0 and has sund gw 37, has had 2 assists in last 2 gws)... anichebe has done 0 to justify a spot in any way.

Yup, posted about Ayew as an option earlier, 2 assists and full 90mins played in the last two. Great fix in 37 & 38!

Fair point. I did look at Ayew and Barnes. If i want Sanchez this week cannot afford those two thats my issues.

Yeh but the first decent striker is Gabbi at 6.5. So you save 2.2m with Anichebe.

Forget about his negligible points, it's the points the extra £2.2m spent on better options elsewhere in your team that will enable you to gain more points.

£2.2m extra is harder to find from defenders.

It will be interesting to see how the Anichebe wc teams fare out against teams like mine that wildcarded early. If he manages to bag a goal it could be gold though!

What a lot of people don't get is that if you have three good strikers and a good 5 man midfield you waste an attacking slot by having to bench one in 36 and 38. Anichebe may only get 4 in 37 but he enables big money to get onto the pitch in the little GWs

I get it mate and it's solid on paper. But you don't need to give yourself that headache.
eg. I'll hang onto Benteke against Hull in 37 for example and he's an easy benched attacker the in 38. BB in 37 and play my strong 5m an midfield in 38. Would rather do that than go with Big Vic even if it means getting rid of Kane for Jesus next week!

Haha, nah I didnt take it that way at all mate. It's going to be interesting to see how the template teams fare out against the others. I wildcarded in 29 and it worked out great but I'm up against some pretty strong looking wildcards now (especially those that have a very high SV) GL!

I think it's a great strategy to go with a defender (c) in DGW but not a goalkeeper, you want one with an attacking threat as well as the chance of clean sheets. For example, Alonso (c) in 37 wba WAT

Koscielny (Tc) worth a punt. Highest bap scoring defender..goal threat..

Ok so I'm 91 behind my ML he's blown all his chips I'm on a WC and have BB. I'm thinking of going pretty rogue with my WC and getting triple Southampton defence with a Monreal, Ozil and Sanchez.

    Willy / pickford
    Yoshida Stephens Cedric Monreal Kone
    Sanchez Ozil Eriksen Hazard Albrighton
    Jesus Kane Anichebe

Alternatively I can stick to my current WC team which has Alonso Huth, pedro instead of Cedric, Kone and ozil.

My mini league rival has a mid of sanchez, hazard, pedro, alli, King... So I need to find some differentials with a high upside to close the gap!

Go with whatever team you think will get the most points. I doubt all the top scoring players for the round will all be DGWers. pick some other differentials as chances areyour rival will get some dgwers in aswell

That is an awful idea. No point in getting triple SOU defense if you're also going for Arsenal players. You need defenders that aren't playing your attackers, for the most potential points. Drop Yoshida to Holgate, Cedric to Benaloue, and Kone to someone cheaper...will that allow you to do Albrighton to King? That would give you a good 3-5-2

    4. bigbudgie

Can't decide on which trio so any help is appreciated.

    A) Hazard, Maguire, A Smith
    B) Pedro, Azpilicueta, Koscielny

A has Hazard, cheap defensive enablers with good fixtures and a spread of teams for clean sheets.
B has potentially three extra fixtures plus a double up with Cech and Alonso but no Hazard, help!

Id go B... but i guess you would also have to consider how far you are behind and if he has hazard or not. If he has hazard and you need to catchup, maybe going ozil could pay off and hope hazard blanks

      Pickford Yoshida Holgate 12.8

Wait for Pool presser, Francis to Coutinho if he's declared fit.

I'd also be tempted to BB this GW, and TC next week when there will be plenty of better TC options than Sanchez this GW.

Used my WC earlier. Go with or without Sanchez for GW 36 and 37?

    A) Heaton (Caballero)
    Yoshida Kompany Cedric (Jagielka Daniels)
    Eriksen Alli Hazard King Sanchez
    Jesus Kane (Gabbiadini)

    0ITB

    B) Cech (Caballero)
    Cahill Kompany Yoshida (Cedric Jagielka)
    Eriksen Alli Hazard King (Sane/Walcott/Pedro)
    Jesus Kane Gabbiadini

    2.5 ITB

I like A but you have 2.5 spare in the other side.

I'm leading my ML with around 90p so I'm not afraid for that. Currently I'm around 190K and want to break to top 100K. I feel like I need to sacrifice a lot to make Sanchez fit in. Without Sanchez I can go with Cech and Cahill and still have 2.5 ITB to upgrade in GW37

I this too much of a defensive gamble:
Playing BB this week and TC next week.
    Jacu Willy
    Trippier Gabriel Yosh Stevens Maguire
    Alli Sanchez Hazard King Sane
    Costa Kane Jesus

sane to someone cheaper and more cash in defense? unless you have AOA. really threadbare in defense there, trippier gabriel rotation risks and maguires gw 37 fix isnt the best.

      1. Eze Really?

I agree and gambling with the 2 rotation risks.
