After Conte guarded Haz minutes All year he suddenly plays him 94 minutes in a meaningless game Monday... I read this as Haz cameo (going half speed) this weekend to please the home crowd... easy to transfer out

I agree with Mark's comments. I talked yesterday about what a star Sanchez has been in my team and how I timed owning him perfectly - Hazard has been exactly the opposite. I've had him for 15 gameweeks, his output for my team was 2 goals, 3 assists. He got 1 point the only time I captained him.

Totally agree he's very hard to predict. He won't be in my team next year - until he explodes and I get him in too late, as usual 😀

How much do we think he'll be? It really depends on prices of other mids etc, but maybe not. Alonso is a dead cert for me, for anything up to £7 mil. See what signings they make in the summer, if Costa goes, see who the get in to replace.

It's a tough gameweek with so many likely rotations.
Bailly may be injured. Hazard may rotate out. Holgate might be a risk. Gabbiadini is out of form. Stephens might not play.
I'd do Hazard to Coutinho and maybe Holgate to a MCI defender (perhaps wait for more team news to decide who). Maybe consider Origi for Gabbiadini

I'd do Gabbiadini to Origi and keep in mind that Fabregas and Alonso might not play (there's no reason for Conte to risk them getting injured). Stephens and Bailly are risks too.

I think captaincy you should generally go with the crowd unless there is an obvious bandwagon to board such as lukaku at home or Kane back from injury. You always feel much worse when you don't get a differential captain wrong compared with the crowd plus it's rarer to get differential right

I mean, in theory switching the armband around and trying differentials would be the best strategy if you absolutely nailed it, but the chances of that are slim.

My approach this year has been to stick with one player for blocks of 4-5 or 6 matches so as not to miss any hauls and hopefully get a good run of form. I wouldn't let one blank change this if form was good.

The stats are certainly conclusive:

Benteke - 1

The only real differential was Benteke, and that was GW34, so it hardly counts.

My most captained player has been Sanchez and he has served me well. I captained Ibra when he was on his hot streak(s) too and then the same for Lukaku when he was at home and scoring. I generally only captain a small pool anyway and usually get it right-ish.

I think the key with differential captains is knowing when to go that way and when to follow the herd.
