Scout Notes on today’s FA Cup action will be heading your way tomorrow, for now, we thought we’d bring you word that, as we did in January last season, we’ll be introducing a half-season membership. The price of membership to Fantasy Football Scout will drop from £15 to £10 for the remainder of the season on Monday.

This half season offer will give access to the Members Area, Members Ticker and Members articles, right up until June 1 and arrives in time for those still pondering their January wildcard selections.

We’re currently working on updated Player Projections that will offer our view on the players for the remaining 18 gameweeks. We’re also producing some FAQ based tutorials that will help new and existing members get the most from the Members area and tools. We expect both to be published early next week to coincide with the half-season offer. Click here for details on the benefits available to Members.

Coverage on the Scout gets back to normal next week after the busy holiday programme, with our usual regulars making reappearance. We’re also unveiling a new guest writer who will be contributing members and non-members articles for the remainder of the season. With at least two new writers to be announced from the recent “Scouting for Writers” article, the next few weeks should see plenty of progress. More on that next week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Half a season; 2/3rds of the price - rip off!

Even Premier League Clubs recognise that they can only charge half for HALF a season. Really.

      To be fair, I agree.

The other day, I thought 'do they do half season memberships?', and lo and behold, they do.

But the £10 charge's put me off. It may only be £2.50 more than the £7.50 I'd expected, but its the idea of value (and the principle). I'll just hold off for this season.

Otherwise, there would've been a sale right here.

FFS HELP! This wildcard is driving me cucko-crazy, and I need to decide now if I want Kompany in.

Whom of these would you get if you have a 105.5 budget?

Goal: Vorm (Soerensen / Kenny / Krul)
Defense: Kompany, McAuley, Shotton, Kelly, Senderos, Williamson, Caulker
Midfield: Nani, Bale, Silva, Dempsey, Valencia, Sess, Walters, Cabaye, McClean, Moses
Attack: RvP, Aguero, Adebayor, Yakubu, Morrison, Sturridge

My plan currently is to go rotation back, and have a strong midfield - possibly playing 3-5-2 if I have Yak / Morrison on top. Does that sound wise?

Looking forward to seeing the experts pick their team. 🙂

Long game week. I'm bringing in players now that are rising in price, even if I don't plan to keep them.

Also be careful not to ship out players that you might want to keep where transferring them out will lose you value (i.e. selling price

Heck, I thought the idea about coming to this site was for just that--suggestions, brainstorming, advice, and the evaluate that advice before you make rash decisions.

Definitely not one of our keepers, de gea is truly terrible right now, lindegaard is quality but not world class, as good as Hart I'd say.

Jones will probably be one of the best players in the world one day, vidic is obviously good, no one else from defence is good enough I don't think.

Midfield, Cleverley will one day be one of the best midfielders in the league - not sure about world. Valencia has real talent, nani will never be a world class player, Giggsy obviously too old now, Park seems to have lost it, Anderson does show some promise but never really fulfills it, pogba and morrison could both one day be really good, carrick is one of the best holding midfielders in the world right now - probably the best in the premier league.

Rooney is good but he's wasted at united at the moment - could be really good any of the other three clubs but at the moment he's no where near good enough. Berbatov is one of the most talented strikers out there, he's obviously not as good as Messi but he's better than Villa, Tevez, Aguero.

I'm taking a view that NOT having Ba when he comes back will be a cracking diiferential. Here's why...
    1. These mid-season tournaments can bugger some players up (remember Cahill)...
    2. He's had his injury problems in the past and an intense competition might be exactly what he doesn't need...
    3. All this £10M get out clause news may well mess with his head.

"There have been long-standing fears over an injury to his right leg that Ba first sustained with Belgian club Mouscron, but he has regained full mobility.

Surgeons hammered a 25cm nail into his leg as part of the operation to save his career and there were fears he would not be able to play again.

However, he made a startling recovery, and although he is sometimes in mild discomfort, it has not stopped him becoming one of the most talked about names in Europe".

ok have been holding off on taking Ba out, but he’s falling tonight, so i think I need to act now. Last call for any suggestions up to 8.1 million. I think that's a given, as you can get an idea on form, fitness, fixtures etc. When you pick a team at the start it's basically guesswork as you're going off the previous season and unreliable pre-season form.

    Vorm Krul

You realize that the same people will give the same advice over and over, right? Others will then internalize this advice and give it themselves to others. All of a sudden, you have loads of people feeling quite smug because they all agree.

Then, when it all goes wrong, they wonder why ... or blame the site.

It's called an "echo chamber". I'd suggest you make your own team and nevermind the peanut gallery.

the site does help with some advice though.. for example, my defense is:
        Vorm - Sorensen
        Naylor - Kompany - Simpson - Shotton - Senderos

and I wouldn't have known about the potential of one or two players (like shotton) if it weren't for everyone regurgitating the same advice that he has potential. It at least gives me food for thought, and the site shows me that vorm and sorensen rotate well 🙂

Not sure I would double up on 2 Defences - Swans and Newcastle
No cheap Mid or Fwd option means you will have to bench one of your decent front 8 every week (could be frustrating when one does the unexpected!) Would be tempted to downgrade one to get a goal scoring defender

If you remember my post above, I've finally decided on my wc team. A rotation team always playing 3-5-2 or 3-4-3.

    Vorm (Soerensen)

Kompany / Senderos / Williamson (McAuley / Shotton)

Bale / Nani / Silva / Dempsey (Sessegnon)

    Aguero / Adebayor / Yakubu

Looks good? Oh, and yes, I'm officially off the RvP bandwagon. 1.3 mil left in the bank.

I think each time I draft a new wildcard team it looks worse than the last.

    Lindegard Sorenson
    Caulker Richards BAE Santon Evans
    Valencia Silva Bale Mata McLean
    Aguero RVP Crouch.

    Thoughts please gentlemen.

    2 - punt/differential - Bellamy
