Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam had to limp from the pitch with a knee problem during the second half of Scotland’s 3-0 victory over the Faroe Islands on Tuesday. The slight knock means Blackpool face an anxious wait to see if their captain is fit to face Wolves at Bloomfield Road on Saturday. Adam was on form in the game though, playing provider for two of his nation’s goals…

The player told Sky Sports News that he was remaining optimistic…

“I am a wee bit sore and stiff in the knee, but I should be okay and hopefully be alright for Saturday.”

Adam is owned by 19.6% of teams in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, so the potential injury will come as a big concern to many Managers who have become used to the cut-price favourite notching-up the points. Adam is the fifth highest scoring midfielder on the FPL game with a total of 63 points and priced at just £5.7million he is seen as a steal. He has also been awarded more Bonus Points than any other player so far this season, racking up sixteen in his debut season in the top flight.

Reports meanwhile from the local rag in Blackpool suggest that scans on the knee injury Matt Gilks sustained at West Ham on the weekend will see him sidelined for at least two months. Fortunately Blackpool have Ghanain international goalkeeper Richard Kingson in reserve to fill his boots but, nonetheless, this will be a marked loss to the Tangerines and leave them short for cover in the meantime.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Hmm just had a play about...

Drogba and Malouda -> Nani and Rooney gives me £3.2m to play with next week.

I could badly use that to strengthen my defence and keepers.

I am loathed to lose all Chelsea coverage but I just think they will struggle with all their injuries and I think Drogs is playing at about 70% fit.

    Very tempting...

But could be a great differential if you catch him early. If he scores a hat trick vs wigan then everyone will have him and he will become the new Drogba.

I really can't see Malouda or Drogba hurting me too much over the next few weeks. I wouldn't captain either of them, whereas I would with Nani and Rooney.

Surely Chelsea are going to come out gang-busters after the embarrassment to Sunderland.

They are still the best team out there and are going to start scoring sooner or later...

Could have been scored against any defender and any goalkeeper in the world. Unstoppable and brilliantly improvised.

I actually saw that goal live and didn't think much of it the from 80 yds away. Got home and saw it on the TV later that night and was absolutely blown away. Brilliant goal.

      Where's Robben's goal at OT?

If I can't vote for that one, then I go for the goal by the Swedish dude, Linus Hallenius - who I signed on some PSP footie manager game back in 2006. I know talent when I see it.

I would stay clear of Rooney for a bit. Can't see him playing 90mins at all and he hasn't had a decent game for about 6 months. Malouda > Nani though HAS to be done.

I agree with Malouda to Fletcher, he could prove a good differential this weekend. I failed to listen to my gut instinct 2 weeks ago and chose Arteta over Park (who I would have captained as I was taking a 4 pointer!). The rest is history.

Rooney being seen as fantasy team savior , all sense of reality has been lost.
Facts are he was playing terribly for months , had an injured ankle (mental issues) and may be playing this week after an extended break , for how long nobody knows

Yet hes fourth on captains poll

I would rather have a malaria ridden , half fit out of form Drogba

I am in the same boat and going Kolarov, but am torn whether to do it this week or wait.

With the injuries to Rafael surely O'Shea is in line for a start against Wigan which would be a good shout for a cleany.

Going to wait until week's end for some indication for SAF and then make a call, but would be keen to stick out O'Shea for one more week.

next week: Drog & Hernandez -> Rooney & RVP

Just back in from work and sat down to listen to another excellent podcast (well done again guys). I have been looking forward to my five miutes of Podcast fame since getting through to the last eight of the FFS cup then horror of horrors I was removed from the draw! Apologies gracefully accepted Akers - tbh even I nearly wanted to Anorak to go through!

Serves me right I guess for beating the legend that is Anorak and even my teenage sons have been telling me to grow up when I have been boasting about the live podcast draw. Anyway I thought there could still be podcast fame if I win the next match.
Then I looked at my opponent Gooner Dave. 5,600 compared to my 18,400, and its the quarter finals, and he is based in Germany.
It all has a familiar ring doesn't it? - at least I can't go out on penalties!

      My team:
      Foster Krul
      Elmo Simpson Coleman Jara Dann
      Fabregas Nani Bale VdV Adam
      Drogba Tevez Carroll

      nothing in bank

My rough plan over the next 3 or so weeks...
      Drogba->Gyan
Possibly Bale or VdV-> Jarvis or Albrighton
Elmo and 1 or two of the others bumped up (to possibly Toure, Vidic or Kolarov) with the freed up cash.

      Good or bad moves???
