Dugout Discussion – Man United vs West Ham

After Spurs breezed past Newcastle at St James’ Park, Manchester United entertain West Ham United in the final match of Gameweek 1.

The Red Devils’ summer signing Romelu Lukaku is heavily backed for this one, having scored in nine of his last 10 appearances against the Hammers in all competitions for Everton.

The most captained player (28%) in the Gameweek, he was also number one contender in our Captain Poll, earning 38% of the votes.

While Harry Kane proved a bitter disappointment with a one-point return against the Magpies, Lukaku’s response will be eagerly anticipated after a host of premium strikers hit the net over the last two days.

With the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Morata, Roberto Firmino and Jamie Vardy all impressing, there’s no shortage of in-form big-hitters for out three-man frontlines right now.

Three goals and as many assists over pre-season suggests that Henrikh Mkhitaryan could stake a claim for midfield consideration, though the Armenian has been mainly overlooked – he’s owned by 7% to team-mate Paul Pogba’s 21%.

For the Hammers, a big display from former United man Javier Hernandez could have an impact on the overall standings –sitting in 21% of squads, he’s the fourth most popular forward in the game.

I've seen some shocking bandwagons in my time, but Xhaka tops most of them.

What do you think they're smoking over there at the Emirates?

Missed that, can't see where he says it's Arsenal's fault for the bandwagon 😆

Loving the formation of the Ramsey bandwagon too, now if he were a starter I could see the attraction but right here, right now I need people more nailed than Zheysus about 3,000 years ago lol

I really liked the way Jesus played, he looked hungry and city created a load of chances, my front line: Kane - Mounie - Lukaku...who replaces him? I'm not planing to do it now but I probably will in few weeks

    Best laid plans huh?
I'm sticking with this unless Fab loses value - then to who? Hearing Zaha may be out?

Willian seems better than Ramsey, right?

    Foster
    Alonso Bertrand Danilo
    Salah Alli Fabregas Carroll
    Lukaku Jesus Firmino

    Thanks for help.

Trying to work out Willian vs. Ramsey. Ramsey a great fantasy prospect on his day. Never warmed to Willian for some reason, but without Haz and Pedro surely he's nailed.

If Ramsey was a sure starter, think i'd go for him

I thinking of Rambo over Willian. He more nailed long term IMO

And better fixture, and also the talk of the 3-4-3 allowing him to go forward.... Let's hope Fab doesnt lose £ for a few days at least.

Assuming Zaha & Gabbi need to go:

    a) JWP & Firminho

    b) Mkhitaryan & 6m (Vokes / Mounie?)

Why does Gabbi need to go? He was getting tons of chances and everyone on Southampton couldn't finish.

    Worst bandwagon player this weekend?

Xhaka and David Luiz for me 🙂

      Agree on Xhaka

Is Luiz really a bandwagon? He was already the highest owned defender.

    Wildcard team

    Ederson Elliot
    Bellerin Ake Bertrand Hegazi Zanka
    Zaha Eriksen Salah Redmond Carrol
    Vardy Lukaku Firminio

Zero in bank, GTG? any suggestions , specially about Ballerin & Redmond?

Don't like Ederson, Bellerin, Zaha & Redmond. No Kane will come back to haunt you IMO, especially if you insist on using the WC now.

      Huddersfield for the fixtures.
Brighton and Newcastle seem pretty strong defensively but Newcastle too much injuries right now.

So much kneejerking and many jerks (or jerking lol), so many Wildcarding and looking back in bitterness over early decisions... So many bandwagons forming too... Xhaka, Ramsey, Mounie et al
True, injuries might play their part in all that tinkering and movement of players, but also does strength and belief in the players you spent so much time looking into..

You can't win anything in the first week, but Wildcarding this early, may be the move that loses you more than you think 😆
