The Scoutcast team are reduced to a three-man line-up as Andy’s Azpilicueta-like run of appearances comes to end. Shifting to a new rural setting, he goes AWOL having been hamstrung by his β€œnew” medieval internet connection.

That leaves myself, Jonty and Az to represent, as we struggle to muster our own bandwidth to meet the demands of an unexpected double Gameweek, landing right in the middle of the frantic festive spell.

That topic – and the strategy involving ScoutCast favourite Harry Kane – dominates your community questions and this 90-minute episode.

Elsewhere, we try to justify shunning Arsenal assets, choose the optimum routes into Watford’s fixtures and the Allardyce’s Everton revolution, before deciding if it’s time to bail on Manchester City’s attack.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    A) Kiko

    E) RLC
    F) Mee (Will play Pope)

A & E for me. I know you have BUR dbl up but why not, they're solid and Mee can bag a goal. I also fancy another HUD blank so I'm playing Duffy.

Whats the go-to strategy when you're languishing at 2.5M and 86 pts behind your ML leader?

I currently have a fairly template-ish team but think I may need to get some players in with lower ownership and hope they perform to boost my rank.

Looking at Richarlison > Ramsey and Sterling > Coutinho.

Keep it steady with the odd differential, nail your captain choices and strike in the double gameweeks with your chips. Christmas is a great time to make points back as well with the games coming thick and fast.

Crazy Hazard v Kane stats. Avg per appearance

    Hazard AWAY
    1.3 goal attempts
    1.0 on target
    45.8 mins per attempt
    75% shot accuracy
    37% conversion

    Kane HOME
    6.4 goal attempts
    2.3 on target
    13.6 mins per attempt
    35% accuracy
    6.7% (WOW) conversion

My head says to (C) Kane...everyone remembers the huge score last season v Stoke....my heart deffo wants to C Hazard...his away stats for the last two games alone smash the total season stats above.

  26. Femenia v Zeegelaar

For anyone interested, I've decided to sign Femenia over Zeegelaar (but will wait until after the press conferences tomorrow before shipping Moreno).

Zeegelaar has struggled to nail down a first team spot wherever he's been, and even failed to impress on loan at Blackpool 4 years ago, making only 2 substitute appearances. Sporting Lisbon fans were not very complementary about him either after last season's performances. Watford moved to sign him on transfer deadline day after their first choice, Keiran Gibbs, chose West Brom.

    http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=55795

Femenia was brought through the Barcelona and Real Madrid B teams, and started off as a winger for Alaves. He's still learning the fullback position and I think the RWB role with Watford suits him even better. Technically, he is very good with a high pass accuracy, and he has a turn of pace too. 4 chances created in the last 2 games vs Man Utd and Tottenham is promising.

    http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=54195

Actually, both wingbacks in the Watford side started the season as backups. Janmaat was first choice on the right but picked up an injury v Liverpool and has subsequently lost his place. Similarly, Zeegelaar is now making the LWB spot his own due to Holebas' ill discipline. I suspect both will be rested at some point between here and January, but then they do only cost around 4.5m.

Don't get me wrong. Zeegelaar has done great in the last 4 games that he's started. 2 assists v Newcastle too despite taking an elbow from Carroll early on!

I guess I don't want to be worried about rotation as I own Mbemba and I think Femenia is the more secure pick. A double up of Richarlison and Zeegelaar down the left would be exciting though!

That said, Femenia picked up 7 yellows in his last season with Alaves.

Silva is Portuguese. Zeegelaar played in Portuguese league.

You’d think Marco Silva being Portuguese himself would have some pretty bloody decent connections in Portuguese football. That’s inside information that we don’t have.

Richarlison is a great example of what inside knowledge can buy a manger.

Zeegelaar actually signed for Marco Silva's ex-club, Sporting Lisbon. I'm not sure if any insider information was shared in Zeegelaar's case, as I think he was identified as a backup for Holebas.

Is Zeeg a better pick than Kabasele? Got 4.5 to spend so can't afford Kiko, was leaning towards Kabasele due to security of starts and also has 2 goals already this season. If Zeeg can hold down his spot he'd be great.

      Zeegelaar or Kabasele?

It's really tough that. Usually I would side with the wingback, but Kabasele has scored twice now in 5 or 6 gameweeks. I think I prefer Kabasele.

the eye-test tells that Kiko is amazing and I was just 0,2 short in picking him up after my Hazard-inspired -8 reshuffle πŸ™

Kiko femenia is 4.6 so if you're .2 short you can get Zeegelaar at 4.4

ah, yes, my mistake. I simply could only afford a 4.3 def, so had to settle on Mariappa πŸ™

I just love how Femenia plays, as if he's their front 3 attacking player.

Instead of speculating, there are some facts available to examine. Since the swap to the wingback system zeeg had played every game with janmaat on the bench. Holebas not even included in the squad.

That being said I'd prefer Kiko for his consistent bonus output.

I'm trying to rule out any speculation. I only started exploring other stats and player history because they both are returning very similar stats in the members' area.

Not sure what's happened between Silva and Holebas, but it should definitely help Zeegelaar in the short term.

Im glad your turning all the attention away from Zeeglaar . Live in the present and not the past imo. A Silva signing so he know what he has signed up to. Eye test over stats ... He looks the biz

I've even watched youtube vids lol. For me, Femenia passes the eye test in terms of his overall technical ability more than Zeegelaar. Plus the Watford fans' forums only have positive thing s to say.

For a move I'm considering next week, Zeegelaar would free up the 0.2m I need, so it would be easier for me to pick Zeegelaar, but I think Femenia is the better player.

if one find the .5m not worthy used elsewhere yes. points wise i think they will end up pretty much alike (not getting that Coutinho is off in jan stuff, he won´t be leaving in jan). Why on earth will Barca buy a player they can´t use in CHL? Why would LIverpool sell when they are through to the quarter? Why would Coutinho leave with that premise, no chance in hell he would.
